ryu jinsu was yein's mother, although you would not know it. from the small amount of time in which yein and her mother (if she could even call her that) knew each other, it was nights fuelled with anger and crying, and since yein's memories of her mother where all ones from a younger age, her memories and views of her mother were all to do with drugs, hair-pulling and many curse words.

 lee jinsu - yein's birth mother, jang soohyuk's first love, a druggie. jinsu kept the addiction on the downlow throughout her marriage to hyuk, but she stopped completely during her pregnancy because the fact that there was a human being in her was such a snap back to reality. yein is considered, by vERY VERY close family members, as a miracle baby, because it was a miracle that she came out normally from her mother's womb. however, not realizing this blessing, jinsu didn't raise yein very affectionately. she just did the necessary deeds of a mother, and when yein turned 2, her mother ran away.

 the past 2 years had been hell for her - jinsu had been a drug addict before she conceived her, which was something hidden from hyuk. it started becoming in danger of being found out when she stressed out over a lost job a few years into their marriage, before yein's birth. she constantly refused to work, probably because she'd have to put up a faux image of a motherly figure, which she wasn't at all. at first, jinsu had thought she was absolutely infatuated with hyuk and the idea of starting a family with him, but it soon turned into an attraction to his money and then their daughter just introduced a new burden. knowing that if she worked, she'd end up having to deal with both family members she didn't truly care for, jinsu rejected hyuk's constant offers of a job at the high school in which he worked at. her mind was, of course, constantly muddled by all the previous drug use, but she was sure that leaving this family was better for all of them. she was scared of what they'd become and what she'd become - so her running away wasn't very mature, probably, but it was ultimately because while she didn't care for them enough as a family, she cared enough for them as people to not want them to come to ruins. jinsu turned to drugs throughout her life as comfort, having grown up with a rough family background herself, and for a short while, thanks to hyuk, she found a happiness. the two really, truly were in love - for a while, at least. but hyuk fell in love with the jinsu who seemed normal on the outside - the jinsu who learned how to hide her secrets from everyone. jinsu simply 'fell in love' because hyuk was the first man in her life to appeal to her in that kind of way, so while she doesn't want anything to do with the two people she could've ruined the lives of, lee jinsu cares for her family, deep down, but no one knew it.

as yein was raised by her mother, there wasn't much affection showed, evidently. jinsu just fed her and changed her diaper and it was such a platonic mother/daughter relationship and there wasn't enough love expressed for baby yein to feel, so with that being the first kind of environment she was exposed to, yein became pretty introverted in the sense of not really opening up very quickly. without motherly love being such a prominent thing in her early years, it made her different from other kids and it became hard for her to have such intimate relationships with people outside of her family. in elementary, she spent lots of her time alone, with no friends, but as she grew up and went through puberty, she started maturing her mindset and rein is now, as a result, more open to people than she was before, but still remaining cold and somewhat alone.

yein is a very good listener, as well as adviser, even though she doesn't seem like it. she can understand how people around her feel or what they come through by the way they speak, express their troubled thoughts and hard times and even just by giving that vibe of needing a shoulder to lean on or isolating themselves. she can understand pretty much anyone and get to know them and their difficulties with passing time, also being really perceptive of their feelings and what they want to share or hide. she tries giving her advices too sometimes, from self experience or just attempting to ease things up and is quite attentive and succesful at making someone feel as if a weight had been lifted off her/his heart after talking to her and just picking up clues of one's emotional conditions.

yein preffers spending her time alone than with others 60% of the time. when she's around others she feels quite overwhelmed, a bit awkward and out of place, maybe because she's not used too much to interacting with many people. also, she likes working alone too, finding it more relaxing or purely productive for her, although that's never the case with min yoongi always being her co-worker. no, she's not your all day emo, loner girl, don't get it wrong, but that's just how she is many times. she's skilled when being around others too, talkative and such, though she energizes herself more into solitarity.

despite the outer, strong and partialy serious parts of yein, she's not bulletproof of course and there are moments when the brave, capable girl turns into a fragile, vulnerable mess. easly hurt, she'd allways hide it. Whenever she feels like crying she does so in secret, disliking to let others see her weak side. words can hurt her a lot, she's sensitive to words much more than she might be at physical pains. and when she breaks down or is hurt she pushes everyone away, locking herself in, isolating herself from letting them see how sensible she can be at heart and overall in terms of inner personality. It takes time, trust and patience to make her open up in those cases, and it isn't easy.

just how many times life knocked her down and yein quoted herself 'not gonna work because hence, i'll be stuborrn.' every time she literally rose back on her feets and tried again, again and again. she just hates to be defeated or to give up, or simply to be the opposite of how she is - sickeningly stuborrn. if you tell her to not do something she'll still do it (even when it comes to important things that she knows it won't be good to do so), try to persuade her into doing/believing something and she'll still do what she thinks and wants, though realizing the right paths often. if an incident comes up and messes up things she's not going to let it ruin everything and instead work on impressive lengths to make it good. basicaly she's one of the biggest examples of stubbornness.

due to starting her lying 'career' at the tender age of 12, yein is somehow way too skilled into deceiving people. somehow two-faced, her strategies rank from making people believe the complete opposite of what she thinks to giving life to certain lies that one would get bewildered if whether it's the truth or not. inflicting false belives through those around her that are entirely opposing to thoughts she nurtures or goals she chases to aim, the girl can easly blurr the line between what the real her would do or say and the fake yein who tries to blend in with her fellows, hidding true figments behind a facade meant to be simply misleading.

creating herself a wrong vision over the world thanks to her own ugly, negative personality traits, yein grew to think that no one can be trusted and that loyalty, be it in a family, friendship or relationship, is not guaranteed nor real. because of this she's never been one to be loyal, most of it due to her two-faced atributes, and would most likely not stick to someone in a friendship through unity, loyalty and trust. she sees no point in giving loyalty just within the thought of not receiving any in return or having yours broken, something she got scared off basicaly from watching herself practice such unhealthy methods torwards others.

reckless in all sense, yein doesn't actually thinks about the consequences that can follow after one's actions, more specificaly hers. during an occurence of sudden panic, danger or even just alert events she tends to jump to conclusions fastly, to act out of instinct in a manner that can be a lot more destroying than what a good choice would do and even take rushed decisions which are very bad or unlikely from the start and to the end of its outcome. perhaps is because she sort of secretly goes into black out literally in terms of solutions or thoughts in ultimate challenges and other stuff but she's never one to think straight or take some time to balance ideas and options rightly, she just strikes, reacts, says or does.

the reason yein applied to be a janitor was 1) because she believed it would be the easiest job, and one where she wouldn't need to interact with others much, and 2) she really needed the money to support her and her dad, and to be quite honest it was the only job she could actually get.

there's a division between those who think min yoongi is stuck up, prideful, and haughty and those who think he's talented, hard-working, and caring. and to be honest, both sides are right. he knows people love him and he can maybe use it to his advantage sometimes and he tends to give himself slack because he knows he can, but he really is well-intentioned. when he does give himself slack, he makes up for it later by working twice as hard.

honestly, at first glance min yoongi annoyed the living daylights out of yein. she didn't like the way he was so... extroverted and so up himself. it annoyed her the way he just openly said things without thinking of the consequences but at the same time, the way yoongi acted somewhat reminded her of herself.

min yoongi had always seen yein during shifts, but never approached her. he felt awkward intruding on her whilst she was in her own personal bubble. although for some odd reason he always grew frustrated with how upset she looked all of the time, he didn't like how she never smiled nor laughed, and weirdly enough he wanted to see her smiling, even if it was a small grin.

at first yein ignored him and his snide remarks. and to be quite honest she just didn't care, it was none of his business in the first place. although, at times she found herself having to clench her fists in order to keep her mouth shut, biting her tongue so she wouldn't yell at him.

it wasn't until yoongi actually started listening to yein and noticing her actions when he decided to shut his mouth. and it was then when yein didn't actually mind his company, he would actually listen to her rants on not make (well maybe occasionally) snide remarks, but at least now these remarks where now just forms of playfullness. during this stage yein finds herself staring at yoongi in amazement, wondering just how such an uptight boy could turn into some thoughtful and reliant human.

at the end of their relationship, yein begins to grow a soft spot for yoongi, and catches herself blushing whenever he does something out of the ordinary for her, like offering to drive her home after work or shouting for a corn dog at the theme park. she had never felt this way about a guy before, but she never said anything ... she was just too afraid.

at first yoongi actually grows a strong admiration for yein. and as much as he didn't want to admit it, it was like he had a small pre-schooler crush on her. all of the teasing and snide remarks, where all forms of flirting, and yoongi realised that he wanted more than to just see her smile.

when yoongi actually started to become engrossed in her, and actually listen to her rants and watching her actions, it was then when he realised that yein was a genuine person as well. he would are at her for a second longer than necessary, but clench his fists to hold himself back, as she's just friend-zoning him, right?

at the end of their relationship, yoongi had realised that his feelings towards yein was nothing more then a pathetic, attraction crush. of course he would still be friendly around her, offering to drive her home, listen to her crazed rants and pay for her lunch but in the end, to her they were just friends, and yoongi realised that maybe all he wanted in the first place was just to be friends.

it all started out with yoongi approaching a tired, bored looking yein as she swept the pathways of the theme park.

yein was attacked by snide remarks 24/7 by min yoongi, and as much as she wanted to lash out on him, she just had to continue clenching her fists and biting her tongue, if only she knew his true feelings towards her, and the truth behind his flirtatious intentions.

one morning yein came into work aggravated and pissed off, (maybe she got a text from her mother or something i'm not sure), and ended up ranting and spilling everything out to yoongi, who just held his broom and leaned against the wall and listened. it was then when she realised he wasn't that bad, and her admiration for him grew as the days went by. on the other side, yoongi began to think that yein was truly friend-zoning him, and so he decided to cut down the flirtatious comments and just focus on making sure yein had someone to express all of her emotions too.

"really?"

in the end of the story, yein realises that her blushing manners and other actions where all forms of her realising that she did in fact have feelings for min yoongi. she admired the way he always listened to her, and she liked the way how he could open up to her as well. but by the time she realised her true feelings it was already too late. min yoongi had made up his mind that he just wanted yein as a friend, as for all he knew she was friend-zoning him. but in reality, yein was just to shy and stubborn to admit to him and even herself, that she liked min yoongi.

okay so basically i'm probably really bad at explaining this. so yoongi liked yein in the beginning but he thought she was friend-zoning him so he halting his feelings for her. and for yein, she didn't like him at first but by the end she realised that she did have feelings for him. so in conclusion, they never (or maybe they do *wink wonk*) admit their feelings for each other, just because yoongi feels as though she doesn't feel the same way, and just because yein is too shy and stubborn to admit it.

— yes and no they work well together. when yoongi is in the middle of making snide remarks all yein can think of is throwing the broom at his face, but when in the middle of a deep conversation or rant, they are so focused and don't even realise how much for they are getting done.
— they do argue though, but in the end it's not even unusual for them both, that's how their relationship just works.
