  1. >tonight was a night like any other, college was becoming a drag, you hoped that all this stress would be worth getting a stable career in the comic book industry
  2. >several days you downloaded an app, apparently designed to help people cope with the stress of relationships
  3. >having suffered a bad break up a few weeks previously, you decided to download the app out of curiosity
  4. >the past few hours you have been laden with severe stress and paranoia, the messages you had recieved had gotten progressively more invasive as time had went on.
  5. >at first, you recieved images of a strange being appearing in the background at places you had frequented, such as your college campus, your workplace, and the local theater.
  6. though you were initially unimpressed you couldn't help but notice that the character was near-perfectly integrated into the background.
  7. >it seemed like photo technology was moving along faster than you could imagine.
  8. >it was a tall humanoid with canine features, with two pairs of horns adorning it's head, and its eyes seemed to glow a brilliant orange.
  9. >in each photo it stood somewhere in the background, appearing almost timid judging by it's body language
  10. >no ears were visible, but you took notice of sharp bones jutting out of it's shoulders
  11. >it appeared to have breasts as well,
  12. >you were sitting in your living room, watching another one of your favorite tv shows, about a group of individuals in a claustrophobic environment who learn to put aside their differences in the name of survival and end up becoming a familial unit.
  13. >you were immersed into the experience when you heard a sudden tapping coming from outside your window.
  14. >you turned toward the window, but nothing was there.
  15. >despite this, the tapping noise continued.
  16. >you cautiously rose from your seat, and walked towards the window.
  17. >you looked out, but saw nothing, or so you thought.
  18. >for a moment you swore you saw a pair of glowing eyes out in the darkness.
  19. >this startling sight caused you to jump backwards onto the floor.
  20. >after regaining your composure, you quickly shut off the lights, and the television.
  21. >when that was done, you quickly moved to your bedroom.
  22. >on your way, you collected a knife, your only means of defense, seeing how difficult obtaining a gun was in your area.
  23. >in the darkness of the room, you made it to your bed, and tried to calm yourself.
  24. >you had nearly relaxed when you took notice of what sounded like footsteps outside
  25. >but a few moments later, the sound seemed to be coming from inside of the house
  26. >you immediately tensed up, and hoped that the darkness would hide you from the invader
  27. >the footsteps grew louder, and louder
  28. >you tried to control your breathing, but were only partly successful
  29. >the steps grew ever closer, and you took notice of the sound of heavy breathing
  30. >whatever it was, it was huge, bigger than a man
  31. >it grew louder, and louder until, from the corner of your vision, in spite of the darkness, you saw a clawed hand emerge from the doorframe
  32. >it seemed that in your panic, you forgot to close your door, allowing the hulking creature unopposed entry
  33. >to your horror, you witnessed a pale muzzle accompany the wretched hand
  34. >you could not believe your eyes, never have you seen such a terrifying organism in your life
  35. >you immediately took notice of two eyes, each glowing a brilliant orange.
  36. >you prayed to whatever gods may be that the beast would ignore your presence, but you had a feeling your fate was sealed
  37. >the infernal beast took several heavy steps into the room, emitting a fearsome groan as it did
  38. >only now could you appreciate the full stature of the strange creature
  39. >it must have been 10 feet tall, it's hands were the size of your head.
  40. >it took several more thunderous steps into your room
  41. >you held your breath and did everything you could to avoid giving away your position
  42. >not that it did you any good
  43. >a few seconds later, the hulking beast turned it's head towards you
  44. >it's glowing eyes illuminated your crouching form, and your cover was blown
  45. >in this close proximity you took notice of sharp spines on its shoulders, your curious mind briefly pondered the purpose of such structures, perhaps they were venomous.
  46. >but your terror quickly returned
  47. >you lost any semblance of dignity, and muttered in terror
  48. >you hoped that this infernal creature would grant you a quick death
  49. >you were but a pathetic animal, you knew you had no chance of defeating an animal this large in a fight, and there was no opportunity for you to escape, so you just laid there like a pig waiting to be slaughtered
  50. >10 seconds passed, but you were still alive
  51. >you slowly turned towards the beast, and noticed that it somehow appeared much less hostile than it did a few moments ago
  52. >despite it's massive stature and skeletal face, it gave off the attitude of a large and friendly dog
  53. >you placed your bets, and decided to humor this intimidating but strangely benevolent being
  54. "So... Who are you?" you spoke with a slight shake to your voice
  55. >the hulking canine took a breath, and began to speak
  56. >"You had the app... and now I came." she spoke with an inflection that highlighted this being's otherworldy nature.
  57. "the app?" you exclaimed with shock. you suddenly remembered, the mal0 app, this was the friend? the developer could have offered more warning.
  58. >"the app..." she reiterated in a hushed tone. "now that I'm here, I can help you"
  59. "Help? I don't need any help!" you responded with displeasure.
  60. >"Are you sure? So much of your time is spent without others, I could help you with that. We can become great friends." she stated warmly.
  61. >you dwelled on her words for a moment. you didn't want to admit it, but she was right, you were a lonely man, and this strange creature seemed eager to offer you companionship without any apparent cost.
  62. "Okay, maybe your right, Some consistent company might do me some good, but don't get too comfortable." you said harshly.
  63. >"there is no need to worry about that my friend. You will find that I am a most affectionate companion" she said accompanied by what you could only interpret as a smile. her glowing eyes seemed to brighten even more for a brief moment, indicating excitement.
  64. "Alright then, I don't believe I got your name." you said to the skull faced canine.
  65. >"You may call me Jiger." she said as she held one hand to her chest, she seemed to be glowing with pride, but not in a way that made her seem like the arrogant sort.
