  4. A world of adventure, of treasures and power. Ancient entities and horrible otherworldly creatures. Of lost wonders that can one day be reclaimed by the light, or may just remain in the devouring darkness, stuck in the miasma of the dark. A world where one may claim their...

  9. Be careful, this world is actually quite dangerous.
  10.
  11. The Fallen Squabble amongst themselves, fighting the other factions like pirates and raiders. Their desperate Houses trying to climb atop one another for supremacy. Having lost their home and history, they wander the stars as pirates and raiders. Only the House of Judgement has any sense of tradition and order, the other houses slaughter indiscriminately.
  12.
  13. The Guardians of the last City are overseen by the husk of the Traveller, their god. The Guardians, and by extent the city and its populace may not be all it seems, for the Guardians themselves are long dead warriors brought back to fight for the light of the Traveller. Slaying all who creep in the Darkness.
  14.
  15. The dread Hive carve their crypt cities in the now hollow moon. Winding tunnels and vast catacombs are filled with the crumbling and skeleton like ancients known as the Hive. They worship their god-king Crota and his father Oryx in the center of the moon. They are the darkness that lurks just beneath the surface.
  16.
  17. If you were to be asked to imagine something akin to a warrior based society that has strict military regimental order, in space, you would think something like the Cabal. The Cabal conquer as much as they can, expanding their domain ever farther. Subjugating more and more land in their war machine of a society. Their machinations of war are ever burning.
  18.
  19.
  20. Machines can be useful. They can save lives, they can heat up our food. The apparently can also travel through time and space, transform celestial bodies into machines and be so deadly as to eradicate all life on several planets. The Vex are such machines. Somehow both artificial and biological. They are both enigmatic and terrifying due to their unknowable motivations and their difficulty to kill. The Vex know no end, and should be feared as such.
  21.
  22. The collapse of humanity was reacted to as one can predict. Some people tried to fight back, many tried to hide. The key word is tried. Those that wished to escape the solar system are no exception. The Reef is what remains, with the descendents of the survivors having made the Reef into a kingdom separate from all other factions. The Reef is ruled by the Queen Mara Sov, the ruthless awoken who has done all she can for her subjects.
  23.
  24. The dangers are not just organized. While the planets used to be very hospitable, due to time and alien influence, they have left the planets warped, shattered and bleeding. The ancient remains of the planets may either be buried under the detritus of ages, or wander aimlessly, completing their last order. Yet their is hope.
  25.
  26. There are rumors of a group of rogues from many places, conspiring to reestablish order to the solar system.
  27.
  28. That could just be a rumor though.

  46. The Many Paths
  47.
  48. Before you lies several doorways. A feeling nudges you to choose one. You know your choice will greatly influence your stay in this world.
  49.
  50. You hear your benefactor’s voice.
  51.
  52. “I thought I would make your stay here a little more, shall we say, interesting? Your visit to this world will be a little different from our other ones. I’ve gone through the trouble of letting all the big players know what's coming. To say the least, people are interested. Of course, you could always just ask me to take it back, and I could do that if you really wanted me to, but where is the fun in that?”
  53.
  54. (You can roll if you want to, just for the fun of uncertainty and chance, but you may choose if that is more fun for you).
  55.
  56. 1.Earth: Wilderness
  57.
  58. Through the first door you see, you can make out a very pristine wilderness. Tall grass and wildflowers, with rivers and cliffs and a crystal clear sky. You can also make out rusted, dilapidated vehicles and tall buildings, some of which have derelict space shuttles clamped up against them. Forms with four arms, long guns and lizard like faces seem to be skulking around the car, trying to hide from view, but doing a poor job of it. They are signaling amongst themselves what they should do.
  59.
  60.
  61. 2 . Earth: The Last City
  62.
  63. Through this doorway, You see people, buildings and stalls. The people wear different clothing. From half armor-half leather shirts, to thick cowls and robes. You see humans, What appear to be robots, and some humans look as if they have snow white or even blue skin and violet eyes. You can see people noticing the doorway and reacting in a way fitting one would react to seeing a mystical portal appear before them. They pull out their guns...

  69.
  70. 3. Moon: The Hellmouth
  71.
  72. This Portal leads to what appears to be a large cavern. The ground appears to be littered with bones and exoskeletons. There is a seeming ominous tone that penetrates your skull coming from the dark below. It beckons.
  73.
  74. 4. Mars: The Fortress
  75.
  76. Looking out this door, you see metallic bastions and buildings, everything seems very militarized. Large suited figures, with the size and shape of a bipedal humanoid rhino walk around, carrying large shields and guns. They don’t seem to have noticed the door. Smaller, more human shaped things seem to walk along on what you now notice to be red sand. In the distance you can see red cliffs against a brownish red sky.
  77.
  78. 5. Venus: The Vault of Glass
  79.
  80. There are stone ruins, crumbled and aged. From what you can tell, it looks as if they have been abandoned. You then soon witness a strange structure of light form before your very eyes. With a flash and a sound that makes a bomb seem quite, a large robotic entity stands before you. It has a single white eye on the center of its head shining out like a flood light.
  81.
  82. 6. Space: The Reef
  83.
  84. Through this door, you see A woman with pale skin sitting atop a throne, flanked by two creatures with glowing eyes and four arms, wielding spears, they point them at you direction, getting ready for a fight.
  85.
  86. 7. Europa: The Bay
  87.
  88. You make out a metal corridor, and suddenly the lights flash on intensely. The entire corridor seems to be made of metal with a layer of frost covering over it. The door leads to a VERY old looking door with a keypad next to it that seems to have frozen over.
  89.

  95.
  96. 8. Earth: Old Chicago
  97.
  98. This doorway leads to an abandoned street. Ancient, rusted cars are packed up against each other. You can make out a few skeletons from where you are, but you can’t tell if there is anything special about them. Buildings on either side of the street are overgrown and broken. Anything that they once displayed in their golden age has either been stolen or ruined by time. You See one man atop a car. Holding what looks to be a futuristic revolver in his hand. At a glance, you thought he was a ghost because of the inhumanly pale skin, and his robes, which show tatter at the edges, but those thoughts were easily discarded as he hopped off the car with a very solid thud. He looks to be in his early twenties, with golden eyes he looks at you. His thick nose and high cheeks make him seem like a proud individual.

  113. Earth: Wilderness
  114. Rahn, Devil Captain
  115.
  116. As you walk through the door, You can see the shapes moving around, as though trying to flank you. You see they are just moving aside for a four armed creature. A Fallen captain, Its four eyes glowing an intense blue, as you see this, you can’t help but feel a pirate vibe, mainly due to the two cutlass’s at its hips. It gestures for you to come closer. After not complying, he begrudgingly mutters approaches. It walks around you in the same skulking sort of manner, inspecting you. After it had poked and prodded you, it finally Motioned for you to follow it, with a short phrase
  117.
  118. “Yu nassa oh”. Whatever that means.
  119.
  120. Walking along all these dead cars, you notice that they all seem to have the same strange thing in them.
  121.
  122. Skeletons. Wierd.
  123.
  124. Moving past the ominous graveyard of sorts, you are brought into a long abandoned building. It seems to be teeming with these creatures. All eyes appear to be on you. You are moved into the building, amidst chatter and hissings. Eventually everyone goes silent. You watch as the creature before you, the one that lead you here, as he takes the center stage. It's like the air is sucked out of the rooms. It appears to be giving a very moving speech, gradually it grows louder and louder as you can hear hisses and screeches reverberating throughout the rafters. and finally, silence. All of Fallen turn their gaze to you, and kneel.
  125.
  126. “Kell, Kell, Kell…” They all repeat.
  127.
  128. A creature walks forward, speaking with a vibration in their voice “We are the Fallen of the House of Devils. We believe that you present an opportunity. Our previous leader was recently lost. You would make a fine substitute. Of course it is only temporary. Until we get back on our feet.”
  129.
  130. You have been given charge of the House of Devils. It is a relatively small house, but with time your house may flourish. The Fallen captain Rahn will help you in whatever tasks you require.

  144. Earth: The Last City
  145.
  146. Cayde-6, Hunter Vanguard
  147.
  148. You watch as people shift around, though always keeping their sight and guns trained on you. They seem to be making way for… somebody. He looks like he could be wearing armor, then you realize he is just a robot.
  149.
  150. “Mighty kind of you to stop by” He says to you. “Though I must say you seem to have come in a… different way than we thought you would. If you would be so kind as to step out of your magic door and follow me”.
  151.
  152. You don’t see why not.
  153.
  154. Stepping out, you watch as the people around you slowly come out from cover. They seem very wary of you. But that should be expected. They all seem armed, though they don’t look like soldiers. some wear rags while others wear some semblances of REALLY old armor.
  155.
  156. Slowly, you creep your way out. not making any sudden moves. You follow as he turns on his heel. All eyes on you. You see as you walk along, a giant sphere seems to be suspended about a mile or two over the city. It looks like its outer layer has been torn up by something.
  157.
  158. He Catches you staring “You know, I never thought I would have to tell someone what the Traveller is, but here I am.” He turns to you and points up at the giant, damaged ball in the sky.
  159. “That, is the Traveller. it is the greatest heap of metal to ever float above the earth, you know why? Because it keeps us safe from all the unsavory sorts outside the wall.” with that he points to an extremely tall, dark metal wall looming over in every direction. He continues to walk in the direction you’ve been going in for the last fifteen minutes.
  160.
  161. “ Long, long time ago, we used to be everywhere, and when I say I everywhere, I don’t just mean everywhere on this hunk of rock and mud. We used to span the solar system, in a golden age of sorts. It's all thanks ‘cause the Traveller showed up, gave us some neat stuff and boosted our knowledge into a new genre of incredible. Or at least that's what they say. As you can see, we're not so much in that golden age anymore. We had a good run, but then the Traveller’s enemy, the Darkness showed up. They say that their was no great war or heroic last stand. Everything was their one second, and then, it was swept away. Blown to dust by an insurmountable force. The last survivors are in this city. The last City. The Traveller sacrificed itself to protect this city from the darkness, and as you can see, it hasn’t been big on conversation since. It did leave behind these though”. He pulls out his hand and before your eyes appears, out of seemingly nothing, a small hovering shape with a glowing eye. “These are Ghosts, our little helpers in delivering all the naughty children coal. We’ll see if we can get you one, although they tend to find their own guardians.”
  162.
  163. “Well, let's get you acquainted, shall we?”

  182.
  183.
  184. Crota, Son of Oryx
  185.
  186. As you step out of the doorway in front of the giant hole in the moon, you feel the presence that draws you closer and closer. The sense of Vertigo is almost nauseating. Finally, the urge is irresistible. Let go and totally relax. A sense of almost fluid motion overtakes you as you are lifted up and brought into the dark below...
  187.
  188. … The darkness speaks
  189. … It has things to show you
  190. … embrace the cold silence.
  191.
  192. These are all things that seem to float into your mind as you wake from your very fitful slumber. You remember things, some things fantastic, others terrifyingly beautiful as you floated along the midnight corridors, forgotten halls and bone filled dungeons of the moon’s interior. Until finally, you arrived at the center of the moon itself, into the realm of Crota, the god-king of the hive. You were set before him and he consecrated you, baptised you in the name of the hive. You may choose to embrace this baptism or deny it.
  193.
  194. Denying the baptism, you will be met with hostility directly from Crota, and you will have to solve the problem of being at the heart of the most concentrated population of Hive in the solar system with an angry god-king right next to you.
  195.
  196. Should you choose to accept the baptism offered, he will transform your body. You will still be you, though very changed. You will grow an exoskeleton of Chitin, green and dark and hard. You will be drawn towards places of darkness, and grow to Crota’s size. You will be his blood brother, and become capable of calling upon father Oryx’s power to command and control your hive underlings. Crota will work alongside you, but as an equal and a brother. You will be expected to fight the humans wherever they are and eradicate all signs of the light. Your mind and body will be greatly twisted to that of a member of the Hive. He will assign an underling as your companion. To watch over and serve you wherever you go.

  281.
  282. Atheon, Time's Conflux
  283.
  284. The imposing metal chassis of this giant Vex is like a mountain with a Light house light placed where it’s head should be. It looks at you emotionlessly. You can see as it visibly takes a moment to process what just happened. It walks into the giant vault behind it, leaving the door open. As it begins to close, you quickly trot over to it just as it barely closes. You go up to the standing form of this creature as it waits for you.

  287.

And you find yourself able to go through time and space with relative ease. Although you are capable of very limited time travel, use it too often, or use it in a way that changes history in a major way, and you will find yourself beginning to lose your grip on reality, and go insane from the extensive amount of time travel. 339.
  340. “Wanderer. We welcome you to the Reef, our kingdom. Our resources are at your disposal, and hope our alliance will be one of mutual respect, trust and glory”. She walks up, slowly and gracefully. Every step showing the epitome of self confidence in one’s right to rule. A smile creeps across her pale face, more charming than scary, yet you feel the predatory gaze she gives you as she approaches. Looking you up and down as if excitedly watching her favorite meal being placed before her. Her eyes a vibrant and glowing blue.
  341.
  342. “And know that if you betray us, there will be more than just a simple execution. My soldiers are easily entertained, especially with the still hot entrails of their prey”. She gestures towards the Fallen at her sides.

  365.
  366. The first thing the strikes you while walking out of the frozen door, would be the great blast of freezing air that strikes you. You can see the ice that clings to your surroundings begin to melt. not having been exposed to any form of heat for possibly millennia. Moving towards the frozen door. You seem to have amazing luck, because the door automatically struggles to open, seemingly activated by your approach. A good shove and the door seems to brokenly open. Getting through, you enter into an office, with a seeming sun roof. Everything in the room is dead silent. You can see the remains of the people who used to work here. Long burnt corpses sitting at their desks. The only illumination in the room is from the seemingly still operating technology, and the cool, white light streaming in through an aperture in the roof of the centre of the room. As your looking around you can see it does not look like there has been any sense of struggle. It does cross your mind that it’s strange that all the corpses have been burned to blackened husks. You begin to get a very eerie feeling. The suspense is palpable when suddenly, out from under a stack of files, file cases and books, all covered in a somewhat thick covering of snow. Out pops a robotic head.

Through manipulation of The Traveler's energies, Hunters learned how to survive in the wild. This heritage has led to their characteristic tendency of bending the rules to suit their particular situation. Being the trailblazers amongst Guardian classes, Hunters serve as invaluable scouts when surveying hostile and dangerous territory combining their trademark daring and ingenuity.

Now, our enemies are the only thing that stands between you and the lost wonders of our Golden Age.”
  592. Due to your intensive research into The Traveler, you have learned how to use some of it’s basic power to survive in this dangerous world. They were constructed in the image of a person with both a distinct mind and personality. During the Collapse, the factories that made Exos were destroyed or lost. This made it even harder to fight The Darkness with so few soldiers. The only difference between Humans and Exos is that Exos do not require many things humans require. Exos are so rare because they can only be brought back to “life” by Ghosts due to the extremely complex technology that they are made of.
