[21:44] <Claire> "You okay under there? I think you heard me say that you were going pretty quick. What happened?"
[21:45] <Earthflame> "We were locked in and I unlocked it and it's fine I just need to hide..." The stream of consciousness is a little muffled, but clear enough.
[21:45] <Claire> "Hide?" She blinks. "What from? Unlocking a door?"
[21:46] <Earthflame> "It's, um..." A pause. "...Promise you won't freak out?"
[21:47] <Claire> Claire's silent for an unnerving moment. "Tazzari, I'm the *first* person in my family's history to have any sort of noteworthy magical talent. No one expected it, no one prepared me for it, I had no idea it was even possible to pop up like that. So compared to the first time I blew up my dad's ambulance right after he got out of it...I don't think anything you can say will freak me out."
[21:48] <Earthflame> She shifts around a bit, before her head pops out from under the duvet and she looks hesitantly towards Claire... Her pale eyes are glowing faintly violet. "It fades in a few minutes..."
[21:49] * Claire blinks once before leaning closer. "Ooooooooh...that's a pretty color. What's going on? I take it from your reaction this isn't something that happens to everyone?"
[21:50] <Earthflame> "...I'm weird. When I use some types of magic I, um, look strange..."
[21:51] <Claire> "Really? Beyond the whole 'silly uniforms' and 'outlandish weapons' thing that half the stronger mages in the Bureau have? Because glowy eyes isn't all that strange, especially compared to the way that some of the newsies show that the big shots change their colors too."
[21:52] <Earthflame> "...It gets worse." She mumbles, looking down again. "I'm okay, so... Go meet people. They're nice. I'll stay here."
[21:52] <Claire> "Are you suuuuuure?" she prods. "If they're so nice, why do you think they'd freak out over your glowy eyes?"
[21:53] <Earthflame> She shrinks back under the duvet. "...I don't like people seeing them."
[21:54] <Claire> "Oh." She blinks again. "I...guess that's fair. It's your thing. Well--I'm gonna go do that. Come on out once you feel like yourself again."
[21:54] <Earthflame> She gives a little smile at that, nodding. "Okay. Um... Thank you."
[21:55] <Claire> "Sure thing, Roomie. Uh...is this where I tell you to 'get well soon?'" She sticks her tongue out before receding away and heading for the door.
