Spore NG FAQ

What is Spore NG?

Spore NG is "New Game" where you cannot use External Creations (such as Sporecasts or your own creatures, vehicles or buildings, only Maxis creations), and you cannot use Wormholes. These are currently the only 2 rules.


Where does the game end? I thought this was a Sandbox game.

It is a Sandbox game, but it does have a normal "story" mode with a lot of freedom and discovery. At some point in the Space Stage, your home planet tells you to find out what's in the center of the galaxy, and there's a special cutscene you can't skip, so we consider this the end of the game (and therefore the run).


What route are you taking?

Carnivore (Red) -> Predator (Red) -> Socialist (Green) -> Religious (Green) -> Zealot.
Zealot has a special superweapon that lets you gain control of an entire planet, which is then used to sell off the city buildings and get a ton of money quickly to buy all the items you need to travel to the core.


Why are you changing your cell in the pre-game?

I like to use a 2-eyed cell for the start on Herbivore so that I can get +5 DNA for early parts, since Flagella and Mouths cost 15 DNA.


Why are you rapidly clicking back and forth in the beginning of the Space Stage?

During the first mission outside of your home, you do not waste Energy, and can therefore get the Frequent Flyer Badge to unlock a stronger engine, which is needed to reach the center as quickly as possible.
