HOPELESS SITUATION RETURN: SCENE 25: I AM A JEDI

The fight in the throne room goes on. The West Emperor - wild with excitement- praises the Gospel of Luke's performance as he kicks Lord Bader down the stairs.

(Lightsaber creaking)))

(Creaking continues)

(Moaning and crying))

(The emperor laughs madman)

	WEST EMPEROR: 2014.. Use your aggressive feeling, kid. Let hatred flow through you.

(The emperor smiled gently)

(Lightsaber off)

	LORD BADER: Obi-Wan taught you well. )

(This line is interesting. It shows that Vader never learned about Yoda, and thought that Luke learned all of his fighting skills from Obi-Wan. Would that have been before or after his death?
Anyway, the novelization actually has a very different line where the Emperor reads Luke's mind and learns about Yoda's interactions with his new apprentice and eventual death.
That really hits different after the prequel era. Now it feels like the old Sith lord finally getting some closure about his old enemy.)

Lord Bader ascends the stairs again. The Gospel of Luke has switched off his lightsaber, refusing to fight.

	THE GOSPEL OF LUKE: The private is a na ta and war sweet Ma estate San, father.

	LORD BADER: You're crazy! Reduce your protection!

Furiously, Lord Bader lunges at his son. The Gospel of Luke reactivates his saber and the fight continues.

(Lightsaber activated)

(Lightsaber creaking)))

(Creaking continues)

The Gospel of Luke jumps up on a catwalk, once more trying to take the pacifist route and reason with his father. Vader shows no signs of listening to him.

Meanwhile, Lang California warns his pilots about incoming enemy fighters.

	LANG CALIFORNIA: Small heart! Sentai 06!

Red Two shoots down the INTERCEPTOR in question.

Lang has done what he can. He knows that he's now depending on Mr. Thoreau and his strike team for the desired victory.

	LANG CALIFORNIA: I'm confirmed and currently in the middle of employment. Come on, Han, old man companion. Unnecessary disappointment.

Back on Endo, Mr. Thoreau tries to fool the Imperials by imperonating an officer, and they seem to be buying it.

	MR. THOREAU: Unite, commander. Rebel army crushed. Another resident escape. Increased demand for ourselves, Pursuit of continue.

	MAJOR HEWEX: Three parts of the gang. Open the back door.

	SECOND COMMANDER: Sir.

(EWOKS voice)

Of course, as soon as they exit the bunker, the Imperials are assaulted by Ewoks. It doesn't take long for Mr. Thoreau to get back to work setting up the explosives.

	MR. THOREAU: Repayment fee!

(CHEWIE flexible growth)

Meanwhile, Lord Bader is looking for The Gospel of Luke, who would rather play hide and seek than face his father in a duel, and thus remains defiant.

	LORD BADER: You can not hide forever, Luke's Gospel.

	THE GOSPEL OF LUKE: It is located in the city of San Francisco.

	LORD BADER: Give yourself to the dark side. That's the only way. You can save your friends.

Bader reaches into The Gospel of Luke's mind, finding some interesting thoughts which weren't there during their last meeting.

On the spot, Bader figures out a devious plan, which actually manages to get The Gospel of Luke worked up.

	LORD BADER: So twin sisters. What do you think today? He delivered it, too. Obi-Wan is smart. I wanted to keep it from you. Now, it's done,and it's done. If you don't run, To the dark side...
			And then, perhaps, he will.

The Gospel of Luke lunges at his father shouting, with his saber fully drawn.

(Lightsaber activated)

	THE GOSPEL OF LUKE: Do not want!

The Gospel of Luke forces Lord Bader into a corner, his lightsaber - for whatever reason - bouncing off the railing twice before cutting straight through it in a different spot.

(LIGHTSABER CRACKLING)

(CRACKLING CONTINUES)

(GRUNTS)

(GROANS, SCREAMS)

(GROANING)

Lord Bader falls to the floor, sans his hand and his lightsaber. The Gospel of Luke has won the duel. The West Emperor cheers on excitedly.

(EMPEROR LAUGHING EXCITEDLY)

	WEST EMPEROR: we are very good!

(LAUGHING CONTINUES)

The D urges on the Gospel, seeing this as the perfect opportunity to turn him.

	WEST EMPEROR: Strong and big your hatred. Now the fate... Me, not your father.

(LIGHTSABER HUMMING)

(SIZZLING)

(LIGHTSABER DEACTIVATING)

The Gospel of Luke looks at the beaten down West, but he can't bring himself to kill him. He thrws away his saber and states, yet defiantly.

	THE GOSPEL OF LUKE: The decision.

(Clutter)

	THE GOSPEL OF LUKE: The private sector is determined to make a difference to the economy. It 's a failure, it' s a failure, it 's a failure, it' s a failure. I don ' t know what to do with it..

(PANTING SOFTLY)

The West Emperor faces his enemy bitterly, seeing that he has now made his choice.

	WEST EMPEROR: So hopeless situation.
