  1. 00:26] Elias Tanne says, " ...No, it was after Ihros La'Heba covertly executed the daughter of a founder of the town."
  2. [00:27] Elias Tanne says, " ...He's dead, now, may he be born into a kinder world, so I'm hoping to be allowed back into the town. Would certainly make travel less difficult on me."
  3. [00:27] Lusion says, "Ah, I've heard. His death too."
  4. [00:27] Lusion says, "..I've had his weapon-- but gave it to a friend."
  5. [00:27] Elias Tanne says, " May it serve them better than it served him."
  6. [00:27] Lusion says, "I'm sure you'll be accepted as long as you bring no trouble."
  7. [00:27] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, you're a good deal more optimistic than I am."
  8. [00:28] Lusion says, "-- Lusion, by the way. Second best smith in Crafthold. Iosefk's apprentice."
  9. [00:28] Lusion says, "..And, eh."
  10. [00:28] Elias Tanne asks, " Ah! You're Lusion?"
  11. [00:28] Lusion says, "I'm hardly that, optimistic."
  12. [00:28] Lusion asks, "-- You've heard of me?"
  13. [00:28] Elias Tanne says, " I've admired your work for some time, aye. "
  14. [00:28] Lusion says, "Ah. I remember I do have a shop in Deseti."
  15. [00:29] Lusion asks, "You ever wanted anything made?"
  16. [00:29] Elias Tanne says, "Ah, I'm a smith myself, and I wouldn't shame my own art by buying from another."
  17. [00:29] Lusion says, "-- Ah, are you? I never knew that. That's nice."
  18. [00:30] Lusion says, "I'm currently working on a project."
  19. [00:30] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, it tends to get lost in all the preaching and child-minding, but it's the family trade."
  20. [00:31] Lusion says, "You should expand your craft, if you wish it to be noteable."
  21. [00:31] Elias Tanne asks, " What sort of a project?"
  22. [00:31] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, I'll settle for serviceable."
  23. [00:31] Lusion says, "A sword made of some special material I've gathered."
  24. [00:31] Elias Tanne says, " ...Though as of late I've been having some thoughts about Agarthan metallurgy."
  25. [00:32] Lusion asks, "Have you?"
  26. [00:32] Elias Tanne says, " Aye. I fear our natural wealth of resources has dulled the study somewhat."
  27. [00:33] Lusion says, "Things take time."
  28. [00:33] Elias Tanne asks, " Ah, but there's been humans in Agartha for how many decades?"
  29. [00:33] Lusion says, "More than I'd like to remember."
  30. [00:33] Elias Tanne says, " Yet, most of our metallurgical study has been limited to the working of increasingly esoteric ores."
  31. [00:34] Elias Tanne says, " And while, certainly, Arcanium has its uses... you can hardly outfit an army with it."
  32. [00:35] Lusion says, "There are a lot of metals in the world, but.."
  33. [00:35] Elias Tanne says, " So I've been thinking about what can be done with naturally occuring steel, iron, adamantine."
  34. [00:35] Lusion says, "With the hopefully creation and success of my sword. It'll path me towards creating a new element."
  35. [00:36] Elias Tanne asks, " If we alloy mythril with steel, can we keep its phenomenal strength? Can we make one man's worth of mythril stretch to form two men's worth? Four men's worth?"
  36. [00:36] Elias Tanne says, " ...Ah, this interests me."
  37. [00:37] Lusion says, "..More or less the theory behind my sword. Extraction and possible fusion of elements. I want to gather the rarest ore and create something anew."
  38. [00:37] Lusion says, "Find a way to produce a stock of it, and make it as easily attainable as copper."
  39. [00:38] Lusion says, "-- Maybe not copper."
  40. [00:39] Elias Tanne says, " ...Mm, perhaps a collaboration is in order some time."
  41. [00:39] Elias Tanne says, " ...And, perhaps, I'm not thinking broadly enough."
  42. [00:39] Lusion says, "I've never done such a thing, but that would be nice."
  43. [00:39] Elias Tanne says, " We used to form steel with wood ash, of all things."
  44. [00:39] Elias Tanne says, " And given the ready access to alchemically and magically potent matrials we have in Agartha..."
  45. [00:39] Lusion says, "Newer things could be created."
  46. [00:40] Lusion says, "I do have some material at my home if you were willing to look them over for some kind of inspiration."
  47. [00:40] Elias Tanne asks, " Ah, well, if you're offering?"
  48.
  49. [00:42] Elias Tanne says, " ...Ah, what an estate."
  50. [00:42] Lusion says, "Thanks."
  51. [00:45] Lusion had many materials, but revealing the ones he's using for a project seemed well enough to draw her attention. To any eye who're keen to enlisting their creative mind to tools, it's no doubt something worth of blending into metal.
  52.
  53. He sets two things down on the table. A large, sharp fang-- and what seemed to be a crimson gem with an everlasting burning core. If she looked close enough she could see a dulled out pupil, as if this were an eye.
  54.
  55. "I've attained these from killing a monster famous for consuming ore."
  56. (Lusion)
  57. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  58.
  59. [00:49] Elias resists the urge to put her grubby hands all over the materials. "Their properties? What do you mean to do with them-- right, a sword, but what are you--"
  60.
  61. Her eye is alight. Apparently the woman was in need of some intellectual stimulation after inventing the pacemaker. I wonder-- you aim to make this reproducible, aye? Well, a first-guess at the size of the beast based on the size of the fang... I doubt we could make a habit of slaying them, and I suppose farming--"
  62.
  63. She stops, clearly having piqued her own interest. "Farming? I wonder... if we could render such a beast tame... ah, well, the possibilities would be quite a bit more broad, wouldn't they?"
  64. (Elias Tanne)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. [00:55] The Ookami shook his head, "No, no." A hand gently snatched the glowing gem, pinching it between fingers and looking through it like some sort of kaleidoscope. "This is what I'm using. The monster used this energy to heat up any ore it ate without struggle-- this melts Nyeshk like it were butter.
  68.
  69. Nyeshk has a high temperature point too, before it melts." A hand gestures the fang. It was large, sharp, and durable.
  70.
  71. "It consumed metal on a daily basis, teeth strong enough to eat three blade made of mythril when we fought it. Combined together with some Nyeshk-- I've created...well, in the midst of created...a weapon meant to seperate ore."
  72.
  73. He tries to explain, since it may be complicated.
  74.
  75. "The sharpness of the blade easily punctures armor or chips sword, and the gem allows me to melt anything I touch. With an enchantment I've had done, it's been giving the traits of the monster itself. Severance; The Ore Eater-- A weapon design to steal or otherwise consume ore, and lend it to me. That's how I planned on creating a new element."
  76. (Lusion)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. [00:55] Lusion says, "With any ore I steal, I can fuse."
  80. [01:05] Elias has the particular gutpunched look of someone who's had her ambitions wildly outshone. She seems to regard the more senior smith in a whole new light.
  81.
  82. "...So a crucible, a forge, a pick, and a blade all in one? No, no, more than a pick-- a pick can't tear a blade in two. A chisel, then?"
  83.
  84. She gets as close as she can to the stone that makes the marvel happen, flipping her eyepatch up to reveal her mechanical eye and inspect the thing more closely. "...So, its puissance as a weapon aside... aye, aye, a magical crucible would solve the problem of containing molten mythril, and a magical forge solves the problem of heating it-- and this way, you wouldn't have to be a fire magus."
  85.
  86. She withdraws. "But of course, such a weapon wouldn't respond to a non-magus. Of course such a thing is good for prototyping, but... I think an advancement that even the smallfolk can make use of would be far more... ah, but we start small, aye."
  87. (Elias Tanne)
  88. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  89.
  90. [01:12] "It's a work in progress. I have many features I planned to add, but right now its mainly used for eating ore and allowing me to gather it." Lusion moves over towards the crate and sifts through some items. Metallic rustling, a hand procured a hilt. The hilt was a piece of the whole, but still something to be considered a work of art.
  91.
  92. It was a dark crimson, brownish shade. The crossguard has a place perfectly fit for the gem to nestle in. "..It's more of a tool than a weapon. I am no fighter, but the appearance will easily blend in with those without wit not making assumptions. To their surprise upon being defeated-- and having the very tools that aided them in combat sapped away."
  93.
  94. The idea brought a rougish grin to his face, considering the idea of smelting precious weapons right before the eyes of the wounded. Unable to have their things given back, now at his disposal.
  95.
  96. After I learn to allow the blade to consum ore, and eventually possibly store the ore to either briefly give it properties of said material and utilize it. The end goal will be to allow the blade to fuse what material it has stored inside...from there I will work as long as it takes to create a new element."
  97. (Lusion)
  98. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  99.
  100. [01:15] Elias Tanne says, " I must say, Lusion, you've rather convinced me."
  101. [01:17] Elias Tanne asks, " ...Ah, perhaps in ten or twenty years you'll be able to build an imitation, aye?"
  102. [01:18] Lusion says, "I'd hope so."
  103. [01:18] Lusion asks, "How long have you been a smith?"
  104. [01:19] Elias Tanne asks, " Mm, I turned twenty-eight recently, so I reckon... twenty-eight years?"
  105. [01:20] Lusion says, "-- Oh. I've never met a woman willingly telling their age."
  106. [01:22] Elias winks (an action indistinguishable from a blink except for by context). "My father was a smith, may he be born into a better world. Started helping him at about the time I could hold a hammer up and never really stopped."
  107.
  108. She cocks her head precisely like a lesbian. "Mm, I'm not sure what you mean to say by that. Age is a mark of wisdom. Like a battle scar, something to take pride in.
  109.
  110. "And it helps to know who I'm allowed to call 'child', aye."
  111. (Elias Tanne)
  112. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  113.
  114. [01:26] Lusion can't argue with that, simply supplying his own knowledge and experiances with woman and their age. At times it was a picky topic, and others some simply didnt care. "Some women are very...closed about their age-- or weight, or anything cliche' that regards them. No offense."
  115.
  116. He says this, though he's hardly mingled with a lot of women, let alone ask for their age. Your upcoming though, it's interesting. Smithing as such a young age I assume. Experiance makes people better regardless of all the flashy things I've seen."
  117.
  118. The Ookami leans back against the book shelf.
  119. "I've only picked up the craft for my brother's sake. When we were younger, he'd often blabber his goals about being a legend and being the greatest. So being the younger brother I am, sought by not be the person to supply him with the tools he needs to be the greatest?"
  120. (Lusion)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [01:27] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, that's a sweet story."
  124. [01:28] Elias Tanne says, " I'll confess that I never took my craft very seriously."
  125. [01:28] Elias Tanne says, " My father, bless him, was not precisely forging exquisite mythril blades for nobles and magi."
  126. [01:29] Elias Tanne says, " Y'know what we made a lot of? Nails."
  127. [01:29] Elias Tanne says, " Could probably make a nail in my sleep at this point."
  128. [01:29] Lusion says, "..Mh. Nobody takes a job seriously at first. Even if they think they are."
  129. [01:30] Lusion says, "Crafting became a chore a long time ago before it became a hobby."
  130. [01:31] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, I've always rather enjoyed it though."
  131. [01:31] Elias Tanne says, " It's nice to form something out of plain material, even something like a nail."
  132. [01:32] Lusion says, "Yeah. I used to have a job of making farm tools for common folk."
  133. [01:32] Lusion says, "Where I used to live."
  134. [01:32] Lusion says, "Around the fields."
  135. [01:33] Lusion asks, "Want to know something funny?"
  136. [01:33] Elias Tanne asks, " Aye?"
  137. [01:34] Lusion thumbs the sword on his back, allowing her to give it a book look.
  138.
  139. "Part of this is made from farming tools. Farming tools and mythril. It's my first sword I made years ago.
  140. (Lusion)
  141. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  142.
  143. [01:34] {Item} You picked up Fenrir. Dropped by Lusion. .
  144. [01:34] {Item} You drop Fenrir.
  145. [01:37] "Ah, it's art my friend," she says quietly, taking the sword in her hand and politely refraining from mentioning the missing crossguard. "Farm tools and mythril, aye? S' the sort of strange alloy I'm looking for in my studies. I'm a bit impressed that you used mythril for your first blade; I only learned how to work the stuff a few years ago."
  146. (Elias Tanne)
  147. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  148.
  149. [01:37] {Item} You picked up Fenrir. Dropped by Elias Tanne. .
  150. [01:37] {Item} You drop Fenrir.
  151. [01:38] Lusion says, "..Mythril is light, very light. Other things weren't to be pace until I had to learn the hard way."
  152. [01:38] Lusion says, "But now? I'm able to create blades made of Nyeshk or Arcanium"
  153. [01:40] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, I've only set my hands on Arcanium but once."
  154. [01:41] Elias Tanne says, " And never Nyeshk, though perhaps now that I'm more welcome here that will change."
  155. [01:41] Lusion asks, "You've never held Nyeshk?"
  156. [01:42] Elias Tanne says, " No, though its properties are well-documented."
  157. [01:43] Elias Tanne says, " Nearly as heavy as Tyrium, harder than Mythril, a real pain in the arse to heat to working temperature."
  158. [01:43] From within his cloak he procures a single lump of Nyeshk, though its implied he has a lot more.
  159.
  160. "Here, you can have this. Study it-- or something. It's rare, and sucks at trying to melt."
  161. (Lusion)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. [01:43] {Item} You picked up Nyeshk. Dropped by Lusion. .
  165. [01:49] Elias hefts the heavy black stone, marveling at it. "Mm, I see how this can be the lynchpin of Crafthold's economy. Ah, what I could work with this... certainly would make it easier to work mythril and orichalicum."
  166.
  167. Though, politely enough, she does give the thing back to Lusion, albeit with obvious reticence.
  168. (Elias Tanne)
  169. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  170.
  171. [01:49] {Item} You drop Nyeshk x1.
  172. [01:51] Lusion aimed to gently nudge the ebony stone back in her direction, insisting. "Take it as a token of goodwill, from one smith to another. It'll give you something to look forward too.
  173.
  174. If you become as close to Crafthold as I have-- it won't be the last time you see this." He bobs his head, insisting her to take it.
  175.
  176. Nyeshk was a rare material, so someone willingly offering it had to be a good deal, a best deal if anything. He respected smiths and the entire crafting name. He wouldn't do it for anyone else.
  177.
  178. "Go ahead, take it."
  179. (Lusion)
  180. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  181.
  182. [01:52] {Item} You picked up Nyeshk. Dropped by Elias Tanne. .
  183. [01:52] Elias Tanne says, " ...You do me a great honor."
  184. [01:53] Elias Tanne says, " For, erm, various reasons, I don't think I'll serve Crafthold the way you do, but, ah, if you had told me ten years ago what I would be doing now, I would have laughed in your face, aye."
  185. [01:54] Lusion says, "Maybe you won't serve like I do, but its still serving."
  186. [01:54] Lusion says, "I'm sure you'll find a way to blend in."
  187. [01:57] Elias Tanne says, " I think I might like this"
  188. [01:57] Elias Tanne says, " The people here are... well, despite appearences, they've been more than kind to me, aye."
  189. [01:59] Lusion says, "..Mh. I've seen some ways of how you've been treated."
  190. [01:59] Lusion says, "In Deseti."
  191. [01:59] Lusion says, "Trying to protect and live up to their rules."
  192. [01:59] Lusion says, "Only for it to be ignored."
  193. [02:00] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, but don't you know, wise Saint Setzer clearly wanted us to carve a path of blood and fear through all of Agartha so the chieftain of Cruxati can have the Nyshek mines."
  194. [02:02] Lusion asks, "Pasis?"
  195. [02:03] Elias Tanne says, " Aye, it's said that's why he backs the war."
  196. [02:05] Lusion says, "Pasis has been passive for a while, but I have heard of his sights on the ore."
  197. [02:06] Elias clenches her teeth. "I can't imagine being so blind, so stupid, as to risk the lives of me and mine to get some heavy rocks. Kraus' wisdom, there's a time to fight, and then there's a time to grow up and buy the rocks like everyone else. And I promise, none of the smallfolks and fewer of the magi are going to see the benefits of their tribe controlling the Nyshek."
  198. (Elias Tanne)
  199. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  200.
  201. [02:09] "The Nyeshk is more than ore to them, I suppose. They're a higher form of weapons. With better weapons-- more destruction comes. I've seen lands razed for ore such as steel. Before they figured out myhril was a thing."
  202.
  203. It's true. It's witnessed a land fall to give away their caverns which held steel. Ore they assumed was precious to fuel their soldiers, supply their armr, and terrorize the nation.
  204.
  205. "Certain things have more power than meets the eye."
  206. (Lusion)
  207. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  208.
  209. [02:10] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, don't misquote me, I understand well why they want the stuff. It's a damn marvel."
  210. [02:10] Elias Tanne says, " ...I just can't imagine it being worth a human life."
  211. [02:11] Lusion says, "..Yeah. Doesn't make their cause any less dumb. I agree."
  212. [02:11] Lusion says, "Nyeshk isn't worth a life."
  213. [02:11] Lusion says, "The only material worth a literal life is.."
  214. [02:11] Lusion says, "Soulsteel."
  215. [02:11] Elias Tanne says, " ...I've heard rumors, but not wanted to confirm them."
  216. [02:12] Elias Tanne says, " Call it foolishness on my end."
  217. [02:12] Lusion asks, "Of what? Soulsteel?"
  218. [02:12] Elias Tanne says, " Aye."
  219. [02:12] Lusion says, "..Ah, yes. I've heard the same. Until I've managed to get my hand on one."
  220. [02:12] Lusion says, "..An ore compacted of a living soul."
  221. [02:12] Lusion says, "..Either damned nor set free."
  222. [02:13] Elias Tanne says, " ...Ah, but that's a blasted abomination."
  223. [02:14] Lusion says, "..In some cases."
  224. [02:14] Lusion says, "Rather hard to contain. Every so often my chest wails."
  225. [02:15] Elias Tanne asks, " Why would you hold such a thing?"
  226. [02:15] Lusion asks, "It's rare. Why not keep it?"
  227. [02:19] Elias leers at Lusion, all the respect she's gained for him draining away like an unstopped tub."Aye, and Kraus' mercy it's rare. If there are people suffering in there, you've the obligation, the charge, to burn it away. To set the poor bastards free, instead of keeping them stuck in a metal prison for all time."
  228.
  229. She shakes with tension, fists balled and jaw set and doing a rather difficult job of keeping herself as piously neutral as she affects.
  230. (Elias Tanne)
  231. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  232.
  233. [02:24] Lusion could understand her anger, but perhaps he should of explained himself more about the matter at hand. "..It's-- not like that." A hand gestures towards the chest which contained the soulsteel.
  234.
  235. "They are souls which're willingly compact. Souls cannot be forced or else the ore becomes corrupted-- that's a whole different kind of ore, that does exsist mind you. These are souls that wished to be, wished to have a purpose beyond the grave."
  236.
  237. He aims to hopefully not bismark his words with hidden motives. His tone was all the same, though faintly drull for the sake of explaining, weary and depraved of sleep. "The rare things I collect are things that have purpose and can be used for the greater good. I have no use for something that would tip the scales of my morality-- or let alone willingly fall into contempt into corruption."
  238. (Lusion)
  239. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  240.
  241. [02:30] Elias' anger is reduced by approximately 60%, but her complaints aren't completely assuaged.
  242.
  243. "Are you... familiar with the concept of the Qilin, Lusion? I met a young girl who wanted to become one of them, because she wanted a life with meaning, because she felt helpless in the one given to her by Kraus. I can't help but feel that... such forsaken souls might be the same. And... such..."
  244.
  245. She shakes her head, struggling to put words to what she's thinking. "One can agree to something, heart and soul, and still have that thing be wrong, aye? People with such a low vision of themselves, of what they could be, deserve counsel, not servitude."
  246.
  247. That satisfies her, and she gives a very tired, very hollow sigh. "You've assuaged the worst of my worries, but I pray that you think on what I said. Such a thing sits ill with me, Lusion."
  248. (Elias Tanne)
  249. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  250.
  251. [02:41] "Souls vary, as people do with their decisions. Lifestyles and faith-- those who take crown upon the bosom of their belief and sit under it until death. People who will find any excuse to find recognition, to have their name remembered regardless of what gets them there." A touchy subject, but an ire swells within his eyes. No less does his irritation bubble to surface, but he makes sure the woman knows his own values and way of thinking.
  252.
  253. "..I admit though these souls are willing, I cannot know their intentions of their desired fate. I've heard stories that some of the greatest weapons are forged from the minds of those who have created them-- Smiths who have succumb to wanting to be their own creation. Sacrifced to have their own soul pushed into steel, and be forged at ready, eager hands."
  254.
  255. He sighs, wondering over towards his chest to collect the ore.A silvery glow radiates, ominous figureless blobs of pearl-like swim around inside. If you listened close enough you could hear wails, voices inside. They murmurs about their lives, dreams and aspiritions. A nonstop muttering of countless voices. He holds the ore infront of her.
  256.
  257. Despite telling her how rare and nearly unattainable the ore is to have on hand, he seems fairly willing to conduct his intentions with his words.
  258.
  259. "I agree that this is a morbid material. Its disturbing even if they're willing to be confined. Though..it is their lives, their wishes. Who can't judge or changing their mind. They haven't been brainwashed or forced into choosing their final rest place-- but, we have the solace, the final whims of their demands in our hands. To ensure they are membered or even recognized with perfection. Because anything less would be a failure...to them, and to us as crafters."
  260.
  261. The ore draws closer towards the woman's face, his expression softens.
  262.
  263. "..If you feel as though this is something that should not be, I'll give this to you. Despite how rare I've claimed this to me-- I'll allow you to have it and do what you will. I care about the craft, and material is no 'payment' to me, its s ahard of art. I trust this ore in your hands as much as I trust mine."
  264. (Lusion)
  265. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  266.
  267. [02:41] {Item} You picked up Soulsteel. Dropped by Lusion. .
  268. [02:56] Elias touches the second unbelievably precious stone in as many hours. The thing practically bleeds potential, and her eye swim with dreams. The things an artificer could do with a lump of soulsteel! Such power it offered, such relics could be made of it! The sheer potential it offered her research into Agarthan metallurgy! Yet--
  269.
  270. Yet. The pain and contention is written in her face. To keep it and use it, or to hand it back to where it came, to disclaim herself from the responsibility. But she was a Krausite, through and through.
  271.
  272. "'He who stays his hand a the sight of a murderer is himself a murderer' says Saint Marsh. 'Though it may kill you, never waver from what you know to be good' says Saint Ava. 'If you would see a thing done, do it with your own hands,' says Saint Sophia."
  273.
  274. The hadith she quotes bring calm to her boiling emotions, and she puts the eerie thing into her satchel with utmost care and precision. "Such are the words of the Saints I adore, whose example I live to follow. I will free these souls, and may they be born into a kinder world. Let them, and those who will be born alongside them, know that good can come without such sacrifice. Let them know that magical tricks and evil rites are nothing in the light of our own minds, given to us by thrice-blessed Kraus."
  275.
  276. She folds her hands over her chest, smiles, and says, "You do me quite an honor, Lusion. To say I owe you would be an insult to the souls you wish to save, but know you've demonstrated your good will to me. Let this be a counter to the bastards who call Craftholders monsters, who claim that this place harbors any more sin than any city in the world."
  277. (Elias Tanne)
  278. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  279.
  280. [03:06] To say parting with such a rare material is hard would be an understatement. Even she knew that smiths took it upon themselves to collect the finest materials, even the look of hesitance on her features tells the tale. Though if parting would invoke a higher spirit in her, and enlist her view on him befitting of Crafthold, "..I've never been seen as a face of Crafthold-- not until now. Though if you feel as though I do act for the faction itself, I suppose I do."
  281.
  282. The smith calmly exhaled like pressing weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He composed himself after giving away a rather precious ore.
  283.
  284. "A fair qoute, to live by and to remember. I know not of your motive behind your thoughts and way of doing things, but I wish too. I don't normally give out rare ore, or normally even consider it. Though...you have made mesomewhat attentive. I've never seen someone be as passionate as you about the likes of ore, let alone these sort of special material."
  285.
  286. A hand is extended towards her-- or should he opens his arms? He doesn't quite know how to approach being appreciated through physical contact, so he leaves that for her to decide if she chooses too.
  287.
  288. "Even in the unlikely chance you decide to keep the ore, I insist you at the very least try to make something worthy of the souls inside as I have had in mind."
  289. (Lusion)
  290. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  291.
  292. [03:16] She claps Lusion on the shoulder and smiles at him, though the moment is mutually bittersweet. "Rest assured, if I can't set these souls to rest, I'll return it to you. I can think of none more fitting to work soulsteel in a way that honors the dead than one who would willingly part with it for a stranger."
  293.
  294. She makes for the door with some trepidation and lingers by the frame, saying, "If you should like to know why I am how I am, well-- it's a simple story. I was raised as a plain woman, and know of the hardships of the smallfolk. I have sinned greatly, and repented, and shall repent until I die. The unjust and intolerant take from me time and time again. All of this serves only to strengthen my conviction, my beliefs in the true, uncorrupted doctrine of Kraus Eternia as passed down through word of mouth despite all hardships."
  295.
  296. She leans against the frame a moment. "...As for my scientific interests, I found myself forced to invent a machine to sustain my heart, lest I died. It gave me a healthy interest in the studies of motion and materials."
  297. (Elias Tanne)
  298. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  299.
  300. [03:19] Lusion turns, opening the door with a loft hand.
  301.
  302. "I don't judge how you are, or what you are. Simply curious, but you seem to have good intentions whatever they may be for what you have."
  303.
  304. He leads her into the hallways, if that was her intent to leave so soon. He assumed of course.
  305.
  306. "Unless you feel that's a story for another day, I'm curious to know about this machine, and whats happened for you to have this done onto you."
  307. (Lusion)
  308. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  309.
  310. [03:24] Elias scratches her chest, feeling the surgical scar. "A young man-- I hear he's taken more than his fair share of lives in this war-- a Gray Glaze, was outraged by me when I spoke to him of compassion and tolerance. He's a man for whom power is all, and he sought to demonstrate. I was poorly suited for our choice of battlegrounds and he froze me half to death. The process of healing damaged my heart, because I was not conscious enough to direct my own magics and I happen to have a relatively large confluence of mana in that organ."
  311.
  312. She says it rather plainly, an old scar she's long come to accept. The only thing in the story that brings her any emotion is her description of Gray, which elicits a look of pity from her.
  313.
  314. "As for the device itself, I'll bring diagrams next I come. I'd show you the machine, but it's in my chest, aye."
  315. (Elias Tanne)
  316. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  317.
  318. [03:28] "..Ahx" he murmurs in regards to her final comment. One in her chest, he could see how that would be quite a troublesome thing to show. He's always been a man of diagrams, and it would likely be best for his mind to look upon. He motions towards the door, though decides to still conversate despite her intent clear.
  319.
  320. "I've seen Gray before-- I believe he is the one who captured my brother and threw him in jail. Later burning his vocal chords. If he is that man, than I have nothing but contempt for him.." His words come out nearly acidic, pursing his lips after with a channeled sigh.
  321.
  322. "..Also, do you have a place to sleep for the night? Or do you still remain within Deseti?"
  323. (Lusion)
  324. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  325.
  326. [03:29] Elias Tanne says, " Ah, I've a church and a fortification somewhere safe. Don't worry about me."
  327. [03:29] Lusion says, "Very well, simply making sure."
  328. [03:29] Elias Tanne says, " The boy is a bastard and would be well-served to learn a bit of humility, but, ah, I'm not exactly eager to cross blades again."
  329. [03:29] Lusion says, "I have a spare room if you seek somewhere to sleep for a brief amount of time."
  330. [03:29] Lusion says, "He is.."
  331. [03:29] Elias Tanne says, " Speaking of my church, I actually have services to hold. "
  332. [03:30] Lusion says, "Someone I don't wish to see in general."
  333. [03:30] Elias Tanne says, " I'm allowed myself to tarry far too long. Thank you for the ore, and the good conversation. I'll visit again soon."
  334. [03:30] Lusion says, "-- Ah, good luck then."
