  1. n to question the illegitimacy of the decision.
  2.
  3. Were we correct in exiling the man for his beliefs? He hated the Horde, and certainly had a fiery, passionate hatred for any that aligned themselves with the orcish warband.
  4.
  5. And yet, something at the edge of my mind caused me to ponder the outcome had we kept him within Theramore as he was. Was I wrong to convince Selwyn to remove his friend; to treat him like a parasitic vermin? I could not discern the truth.
  6.

  9.
  10.
  11. Week Two
  12.
  13.
  14.
  15. With the Eredar Lord and the Dreadlord of Theramore flaunting their power upon particular citizens of the city, I started to consider my own odds of encountering the demonic fiends.
  16.
  17. If I was to rise in power within Theramore, would that attract their attention? And if I did, what could I do? I am but a novice sorceress from Dalaran. My magical prowess is far less superior to that of a Dreadlord, let alone an Eredar Prince.
  18.
  19. On the other hand, if I remained in a static position of power, I could certainly continue my studies of their actions. Their plans would unfold before my eyes, and I would have a chance at causing their ultimate failure, one way or another, through delicate studying.
  20.
  21.
  22.
  23. Following the arrival of the Draenei from the Exodar, I was granted the opportunity to gain the favour of one of their elders, Toranaar. He knew nothing of the Common tongue, so that process had been taxing after a terrible battle within the Keep had ended a short time prior.
  24.
  25. If I was to continue with my teachings, he could eventually aid me, somehow, in gathering more knowledge of the arcane. Perhaps through one of the eldest magi within the Exodar.
  26.
  27. However, if my studies proved to fail, and his people were to show a distaste toward me, due to recent events involving The Exodar and Kael'thas' Sin'dorei, then I would falter and likely succumb to the Eredar Prince's . And yet, something tells me that this will not be so, and that my teachings - although sluggish and uncanny - will provide quite the positive opportunity to gain more knowledge, and thus power.
  28.
  29. Only time would tell, but I pray that my time would not come to a swift end yet. The Eredar Prince will learn, should I successfully gather what I desire, that I am not a sorceress that shall be trifled with.
  30.
  31.
  32.
  33. Selwyn and I began to plot. Our thoughts were devious, cunning, yet grotesque and unnecessary.
  34.
  35. Our ploy to put on a display of confusion and chaos, through the use of a Warlock, 'Siggy', that I had recently made the acquaintance of, could perhaps jeopardize our entire operation.
  36.
  37. To cause a scene by convincing this unusual warlock to summon demons to Theramore, in an attempt to eventually frame Guard Lana, would attract the attention of 'Malchezaar', and I wish to avoid the voracious parasite as often as possible.
  38.
  39. And yet, if we do not act against this guard, then what will happen within the next few days? We are already upon the cusp of chaos. All the demons require is a single rumor to spread like wildfire, as the current one has, and Theramore would lose itself to madness...
  40.
  41. The perfect time to strike for any demon lord.
  42.
  43.
  44.
  45. I shall keep myself aware of the unusual activities within Theramore, while Selwyn mindlessly distracts himself with a traitorous girl.
  46.
  47. I will flush out the Dreadlord, then draw out Malchezaar. It shall be the last valiant act I commit.
  48.
  49. Alice, if only you had not lost yourself so soon...
  50.
  51.

  55.
  56.
  57. WEEK THREE
  58.
  59.
  60.
  61. So far, this week has been rather chaotic. Pale creatures, the uncovering of the Citadel's basement, and more...
  62.
  63. However, most importantly, I've discovered vital information about the Burning Legion's actions with Theramore that could provide me a means of flushing out their treacherous hides.
  64.
  65. I had followed a trail through Theramore in the early afternoon, deciding it was the best time to effective stalk the demons. Along the way, I uncovered information that would grant me some insight on their patterns, times, and other smaller details.
  66.
  67. One such discovery allowed me to unveil a location where, I believe, the Legion agents may collaborate. Further information is required before I finalize that thought.
  68.
  69. For now, I shall await their arrival...
  70.
  71.
  72.
  73. The Cunning Endeavour and an Unexpected Ally
  74.
  75.
  76.
  77. I departed from the tower with nearly fifteen minutes to spare before an hour past noon struck. I
  78.
  79. had arrived. I was eager, yet determined, to see my efforts come to fruition. The demonic congregation will be uncovered, regardless of the length of time I would be required to sacrifice in seeing this through.
  80.
  81. Finding a suitable spot, where I believe I was well hidden, I began my arduous test of patience...
  82.
  83. For the first time ever, I had encountered a wild animal that was not eager to strike me down with the fury of the world itself. It was peculiar. The falcon had found itself to me and appeared equally curious of me as I was of it.
  84.
  85. Without much hesitation or fear, the bird found its way to my side and ultimately perched itself upon my boot. I took some time to gain its trust, and quickly discovered that it responded to "Ranger". Being an inherently quick-minded individual, I concluded that the falcon carried the name of "Ranger" and swiftly issued out a couple of commands. To my surprise, it obeyed! I was astonished. Never before had I imagined myself commanding an animal as my eldest sister would.
  86.
  87. Now, here I rest, with a newfound ally of a falcon perched upon my boot, in the hopes of discovering valuable information revolving around the demons of Theramore.
  88.
  89.
  90.
  91. This day had only just begun, too...
  92.
  93.
  94.
  95.
  96.
  97. The Endeavor Continues
  98.
  99.
  100.
  101. I was prepared once more to venture outside of the western gate to pursue my prey. I have begun to consider myself a "Demon Hunter", ironically, ever since my first night of scrying.
  102.
  103. I brought along with me a few supplies of worth: Food, beverage, and a book on training a falcon. It was not specifically about falcon's, yet I indulged anyway.
  104.
  105. My curiosity was at its peak, and so I endured the long wait to perhaps unveil something of worth from the agents of the Burning Legion. If Selwyn will not heed my warnings, then I must act alone...
  106.
  107.
  108.
  109. May the night keep me safe.
  110.
  111.
  112.
  113. Week Four
  114.
  115.
  116.
  117. My endeavor had finally come to a conclusive end. By my side was Eleanor, my daughter-like apprentice, at the time of the arrival of the demonic agents. The precise time is unknown, yet that matters little.
  118.
  119. I've enough information to investigate the matter further, but I fear that time is no longer on my side. I, also, now know of "Kilin'rasmor", the supposed Dreadlord of Dustwallow Marsh. Now I seek to unveil his name to the winds of Theramore in an attempt to converse with the demon. Light knows what such a risk may reward me with.
  120.
  121. Selwyn has shown to care little about the safety of his city, and thus I shall endure whatever torment I can for the price of Theramore's safety...
  122.
  123.
  124.
  125. Light have mercy on me.
  126.
  127.
  128.
  129.
  130.
  131. A Message to Kilin'rasmors and his Servants
  132.
  133.
  134.
  135. "My hunt may soon come to an end, yet I can only assume this.
  136.
  137. All caution has been thrown to the wind.
  138.
  139. I know that your foul demonic agents reside in Theramore, and I especially know of your name, Kilin'rasmors.
  140.
  141. I leave this message for you and your lackeys to discover at their precious spot for conversing.
  142.
  143.
  144.
  145. Perhaps we could speak in person? It would be an honor...
  146.
  147.
  148.
  149. P.S.
  150.
  151.
  152.
  153. I've left a small trace of arcane energy to linger on this note in the form of a minor ward, in the hopes that the lesser demons you command can easily detect it.. May your search come to a swift conclusion."
  154.
  155.
  156.
  157. Signed,
  158.
  159. V.D.
  160.
  161.
  162.
  163. -Noted within the journal itself out of necessity-
  164.
  165.
  166.
  167. My nerves were wracking me endlessly with thoughts of fleeing, escaping the eventual hold that the Burning Legion would have upon me.
  168.
  169. I could not. I had done far too much to even consider the possibility of retreating from the situation that I had initiated upon days prior.
  170.
  171.
  172.
  173. Eleanor and Darielle did not wish to join me, but that was for the betterment of us all.
  174.
  175. The congregation was short, yet led directly to the point. I was... graced by the power of the Eredar Prince, Malchezaar. His will was thrust upon me without a moment of hesitation, and I knew what would occur next. My will was to be his, or so I believed. His hold upon me was lacking, almost as though he sought to test my resolve. It was a mistake on his part. I still maintained the majority of my own will, and thus will not act as he deems necessary. Although he may be powerful, that does not mean the great Eredar Prince is incapable of errors...
  176.
  177.
  178.
  179. I set out from the ship, which housed our devious meeting, and found my way to the Proudmoore Tower. I could feel the power of fel magic coursing through my veins, hungrily replacing each ounce of arcane that resided like a virus. As I passed through the main ward of the tower, I decided to test my fate.
  180.
  181. "Jerod?" I called out. There was no response, at first, but that only last for a few moments.
  182.
  183. He appeared.
  184.
  185. I could feel him magically probing my fel-touched senses, testing my own resolve and sanity for even considering stepping into the tower. He understood what I sought to do, and thus did not act.
  186.
  187. I confronted him further as he vanished once more, beckoning him forth upon the top level of the tower. He appeared, and we discussed through riddle-like attempts of what would occur from that point forward. For once, Jerod and I found ourselves in an agreement, an understanding. Perhaps he was not the loathing specter I had once believed him to be. After the short revelation between us, we parted ways in silence.
  188.
  189.
  190.
  191. My efforts will not be in vain. What I do from this point forward will be for the greater purposes of myself, and ultimately Theramore.
  192.
  193. "The wheel of fate." She had once told me, and now I had begun to understand my sister's words more thoroughly.
  194.
  195. An ironic condemnation, considering I had once loathed her for indulging in the demonic magic long ago...
  196.
  197.
  198.
  199. The Wheel Turns
  200.
  201.
  202.
  203. I can feel the fel energy consuming every ounce of my being. I've starved it, defiantly, and myself. For what purpose? Fear. I fear what atrocities I may commit under its influences, and I fear the actions I may take if I do not feed upon fel magic soon.
  204.
  205. Nothing but fear and pain... Is this what you suffered with, sister? I cannot comprehend the magnitude of your strength to have carried on for as long as you did. Was I simply too eager to throw caution to the wind...?
  206.
  207. I must find something, and soon.
  208.
  209.
  210.
  211.
  212.
  213.
  214.
  215. < From here onward, the handwriting has changed, as well as the pressure on the journal. >
  216.
  217.
  218.
  219. The Wheel Continues to Turn
  220.
  221.
  222.
  223. My name is Eleanor Pierce, and I will continue this journal in memory of my mother, Valessa Dawnseer.
  224.
  225. I was raised by her and eventually brought to Theramore, on the third week detailed in the passages.
  226.
  227. I suppose this is my way of dealing with it, though I do not know whether this will allow me to gain some closure from the death of my mother.
  228.
  229.
  230.
  231. Valessa Dawnseer died on the eve of the twenty-fifth day of the fifth month, late in the evening, due to the corruption that she held from the ‘gift’ of the Legion. It ate her from within, as she defied it.
  232.
  233.
  234.
  235. Lord Selwyn Lewis has pushed me from the magi community, yet this seems only to be the beginning of a new story.
  236.
  237.
  238.
  239. I will do my best to keep this journal up to date, if not for me, then for you, the reader.
  240.
  241.
  242.
  243. An Unlikely Task
  244.
  245.
  246.
  247. After numerous comments from those that surround me, I feel my senses numb with anger. The Witches must have done this. Or so I thought. I charged for them, then was stopped by a peculiar sight. Upon Valessa’s point of death, a small bog-creature was planting and growing flowers. I stood and watched, and it approached, offering over a ring.
  248.
  249.
  250.
  251. I wondered what this ring was, but acted without thought, plucking the ring from the creature’s hand. Almost immediately, my mind was assaulted by whom I believe to be a high-witch from the Swamplight Coven.
  252.
  253.
  254.
  255. I will detail the conversation as best I can below.
  256.
  257.
  258.
  259. [Unknown Voice...]"Blind-Eared Magi, our eyes have become your sight. You are a song-stealer, seeking a harmony that you believe is among us. Behind the deceit-boned walls of the twice-bound kingdom sits a false mage. Like yourself, but unbroken. He has taken from us as we have taken from you.Return to us what was lost, then rest for your own is assured."
  260.
  261. [Eleanor] "I thank you for your gracious message,
  262.
  263. [Eleanor]: whomever you are. I believe you may be the denizens of the Swamplight Coven. If this is true, or even if not. I will need more information than just a mage. It is a town filled with mages. Is it the Lord? What has he taken?"
  264.
  265. [Unknown Voice...] "We are the Thirteen-Under-Seven, Vassals-Under-Memories. From this trinket, sight-ears have been granted through isolated realization. There is another like it - one white as light that was taken from us."
  266.
  267. [Eleanor]: "I know of the trinket that you speak of. A talisman, no?"
  268.
  269. [Eleanor]: "Held by one of your kin."
  270.
  271. [Eleanor]: "A deserter."
  272.
  273. [Unknown Voice...] : "That which grows along-soul, along-flesh is what we seek. Made of nothing from 'EfWa' - rather, from that which exists inside all bodies."
  274.
  275. [Eleanor]: "You wish for a talisman that grants life?"
  276.
  277. [Unknown Voice...] : "Listen - for while you may be broken now - in time the shards will reconvene anew. Find the thief of deceit for when a snake is caught the tallgrass reveals its tail."
  278.
  279. [Eleanor]: "So long as you allow me free passage to the fire, to have a place to practice my magic and to collect my mind."
  280.
  281. [Eleanor]: "I will not approach the coven, I will stay to the flame and no further."
  282.
  283. [Unknown Voice...] : "These are the words of truth - find the thief, find the white-blooded flesh-stone. To bring your feet amongst the vassals - wear the skin of soul-reused."
  284.
  285.
  286.
  287. This is the conversation as best I remember it. Oddly enough, it appears burnt into my memory. Troubling.
  288.
  289.
  290.
  291. For now, I will do as it asks, in hopes that I can get just another second with my mother. To earn just a final goodbye. I will go to no end to achieve this.
  292.
  293. Interesting. Captain Kukri handed me a letter from a 'sailor'. Detailed within was a single black spot. Kukri explained that this was a challenge from a pirate. Curious.
  294.
  295. Perhaps this 'Anna' I have heard of? Only time will tell.
  296.
  297.
  298.
  299. It appears fate wishes for this day to provide me with many distractions. I was attacked by a 'Rogan', the presumed leader of the Feltotem, or Grimtotem. Whatever they're called.
  300.
  301. He struck fear deep within me... The magic he wielded was the very same that dismantled my mother. Perhaps he is to blame for her corruption?
  302.
  303. Lieutenant Brayden has been rather nice to me, perhaps we're finally making a turn for the better and 'getting on'. Hopefully. It would be nice to have a friend through all this.
