  1. First, add a text file called "cd.ad" to your game directory to activate being able to play the Girl in the Tower (GITT) demo song in the game.
  2. - Open Notepad
  3. - Type in whatever the heck you like
  4. - Save As: cd.ad (but be sure to select "all files" when saving, otherwise you'll end up with cd.ad.txt)
  5. - Should show up as an "AD file" in your game directory (if it says a TXT file, you did the previous step wrong, do it again, or Google for help, I only know Windows stuff)
  6.
  7. Activating Gnome Skip via the GITT glitch and Jaki clicking
  8.
  9. "Jaki click" - to left click and then one frame later press Delete to go straight to menu bar, pausing the game
  10. Jaki clicks are best executed by actually mentally thinking you are pressing Delete before you are left clicking. This is because the hot keys have a very tiny delay to activate, but left click does not. So if you mentally try to do left click then delete, you will be late every time. But if you think you're pressing delete before left click, eventually you'll get the timing down. It is very difficult to do initially, but with practice you will get the muscle memory and do it relatively consistently.
  11.
  12. So, you need to walk north to trigger the gnomes, but you need to activate the Girl in the Tower (GITT) demo while Alex is still in the turning animation to walk north. If you activate GITT quickly enough, then Alex will zip upwards out of bounds while the song plays and then once you clear the song text box, you will suddenly be in the swamp, skipping the gnomes altogether.
  13.
  14. Here's the best way I've found to do this.
  15.
  16. First, we want to do this movement zipped so that way we don't get a slow walk on the next screen. But, if you try to just zip north like you normally would from the landing position on Wonder, you will find it almost impossible to hit delete quickly enough to catch Alex in the turning animation. That's because he's not needing to turn very much since he's facing south, so that's less frames to pass for a turn animation only ~135 degrees from south to northwest.
  17.
  18. But, if we zip first so that Alex is facing southeast, then he will turn 180 degrees to go northwest. That will give us an extra frame of turning animation's worth of time to actually catch him during the turn.
  19.
  20. If you're curious, here are the counts of turning frames:
  21. Facing Going Frames of Turn
  22. S NW 3
  23. SE NW 4
  24. SW NW 2
  25. E NW 3
  26. N NW 1
  27. NE NW 2
  28.
  29. (Now, when I say "frames" here, that should not be taken entirely literally. Since we're zipping on max speed, the visual frames are nonexistent, the animations move so fast that even when I go back and watch this frame by frame, only 1 visual frame passes between his turning animation beginning and when we catch him. So yep, it's a frame perfect glitch, got to press delete less than 1 frame after you left click, and just hope the overclocked speed lets you land on an early enough turning frame. See here for the actual frame by frame shots of this sequence: https://imgur.com/a/RQoAcxs What I mean is, those are the turning frames that actually pass when you are not zipping in max speed).
  30.
  31. So here are the inputs:
  32.
  33. Walk down right a tiny bit to zip and face south east
  34. Move cursor to north west
  35. Jaki click
  36. Open settings
  37. Click "About"
  38. Click "GITT demo"
  39. Move cursor away from menu bar, place on clam above sleepy clam
  40. Hold enter
  41. Listen to the amazing song demo and call your radio station to ask them to play it!
  42. Magically zip to where you need to be on the swamp screen
  43.
  44. Trust me, this is challenging and requires that weird muscle memory of Jaki clicking just right.
  45.
  46. We'll see on what the total timesave will be, but sluicebox thinks about 2 minutes total (as it does mess up some other minor things later in the run, see the new route for details).

  50. Happy gnome skipping!
