  1. Please forgive any spelling mistakes. English is not my native language, thanks!
  2.
  3. READ BEFORE PLAYING:
  4. 1) This world is highly recommended to be played from level list and not from the world menu. Losing a CP on later levels is not fun at all and I am not providing endless source of 1-UPs.
  5. 2) Player discretion is advised. This world contains a bunch of trolls and they are deadly. I do not recommend playing this is you are tilted easily.
  6. 3) This world has almost no indicators. It should be clear what to do if you retry a bunch of times. I think that figuring out the level is important part of the kaizo skill, and I do not like when level is filled with unnecessary arrows, P blocks and Z's. Hard to figure out tricks and possible blind jumps are indicated tho. If you don't know what to do, please refer to the clear video. I will paste links to all of them below.
  7. 4) Later levels are for skilled but for skilled only. You may not be able to complete the world if you are not. And I mean overall skill, like the ability to go fast when you need to, do a certain trick or make a precise jump if you need to, learn a timing if you need to. Levels usually require a mixture of different skills to beat them, which is kinda rare in this game.
  8. 5) Please report any cheese you find by twitter DM (@kirr_12) preferably with a clip. I play-tested and de-cheesed all levels by myself, so there is a high possibility that I missed something.
  9. 6) I will not reupload the world even if some major cheese happens. Reuploading is not worth resetting everyone's potential progress and ruining level order in the my uploaded courses list. Feel free to cheese levels if you know how, it is part of the fun after all.
  10. 7) Do not press SHIFT 5 times in a row.
  11. 8) If you want to play the World on stream or make a video about it, PLEASE notify me in any possible way (twitter DM, twitch whisper, discord Kirr12#9331). I will watch it if I am not sleeping or busy.
  12. End of the READ BEFORE PLAYING part.
  13.
  14. You can find some trivia below. HAVE FUN!!!
  15. TOTAL CHEESE KNOWN: 1x Minor (3-1), 1x Moderate (3-3), 1x Major (2-B)
  16.
  17. First of all, I want to tell you something that I noticed about modern kaizo and how I compare it to my world. A lot of modern kaizo is "mechanism" kind of level. It works by itself and you only need to jump on some spot or do a certain trick in certain spot which is usually indicated. The level is working only to get Mario through it, it makes levels feel dead, empty and synthetic even if there are a lot of moving parts in them. I got really bored of this type of levels so I went more traditional with my world. I used setups that require some thought from players and that are not perfectly lined up and indicated like in chindrens' book. Also this made my levels not look like some kind of machinery with 60% of the screen covered in setups, but rather like an environment. In my opinion, that made my levels feel way more natural and alive.
  18. Second thing I want to talk about is Maker Teams. I was very enthusiastic about that Teams project at the release, but now after 3.5k hours of experience I feel like that the Teams took away a bit of soul from the game. They add rules to level making, which restricts the already restricted editor even more. And level making is supposed to be about creativity and making everything you want. These rules make levels look the same with rare hidden gems from time to time. And because of that I will not upload any world level to any team, I don't want to deal with their rules and ratings. I might miss out on some reach because of that, but only thing I care about is making levels I like and want to share. And I feel like that precision should not be separated from kaizo, together they are way more fun.
  19.
  20. The reason I did not put an endless source of 1UPs on CPs is because I do not want the levels to get bruteforced. I want the player to learn the level, to get consistent in all setups in order to progress. These levels are about learning and not about "please get 3 springjumps in a row"
  21.
  22. In my first experince with world building I used pixel art to make a preview for every level, but now I think that it was a mistake. Now I use a preview that approximately represents the level layout and has things that were actually used in the level. I think that it gives better expectations about level contents than just a random pixel art.
  23. And I have a reason why I did not place the level number (e.g. 1-4, 3-B) in the level title. All 24 levels are self-sustained things that can be enjoyed if someone randomly stumbles upon them one by one. The world is only the nice wrapping for them and has little to no impact on how levels are made.
  24. Also I like vines in this game way too much, so they are everywhere.
  25. Enough of that trash talk, let's get to levels. I recommend not to watch a video before trying to beat the level, because it takes away the enjoyment of figuring out the setups and creative solutions to them (and levels have a lot of surprises that can be spoiled).
  26.
  27. Playlist with all clear videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGDtucER8XIlgOka1pYpiGxBKzAQ1coTt
  28. Super World Trailer: https://youtu.be/w24y_ODjonc
  29.
  30. [1-1] Peaceful Sleep
  31. I was not even planning on adding this level to the world, it was supposed to be a contest level. But then it turned out that contest judge is not very skilled at this game, so I made an easier level instead. This one is still pretty easy baby platforming, I was not going crazy on it yet.
  32. Named after this song from NieR: Automata OST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jna9bvhdRE
  33. This song is very chill and calming, just what I want for the first level. Also the level looks kinda like Automata scenery: a lot of stone blocks and some vines on them.
  34. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/x6ZUJUJPYhQ
  35.
  36. [1-2] Stone Mushrooms
  37. I was trying to make a trivial platforming level, but with some setups that are seen in more advanced levels. I really like the ending.
  38. Name is not based on anything, I just thought that my decorations look like stone mushrooms.
  39. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/zksts1XJKyU
  40.
  41. [1-3] Grape Vine Virus
  42. This is the first level I've made after deciding to make the world. I just wanted to use poison mushrooms. And I remade the second half 2 times after.
  43. Named after a level from the game World of Goo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuLo8axO9gg
  44. I played this game as a kid and I have a lot of memories and feelings about it, so it's nice to place some WoG reference in this world. And the name is pretty fitting, level has a lot of grape purple color and some vines.
  45. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/3P06vKJWUXQ
  46.
  47. [1-4] Pulchritudinous Silver
  48. General idea of this level is white/grey color, so I tried to avoid any other blocks and pieces with different colors. Level looks kind of silver, so I think I succeeded. Also it looks like a high mountain range with a lot of snow.
  49. The name comes from the song Cilantro by Patricia Taxxon. Just listen to it, I found that word combination funny: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=na-F-F4QlqI
  50. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/uzicbcrCSrs
  51.
  52. [2-1] Hop Step Adventure
  53. This is my first experience with 3DW making. It is a lot more restricted than I thought it would be, but I managed to make something fun still.
  54. Named after a song from rhythm game VOEZ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tqTJwbLX6c
  55. All that sounds that Toad makes when jumping made me instantly think about this name.
  56. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/ZI0zIOERw58
  57.
  58. [2-2] Auntie Chicken's Valley
  59. This level has the most classic SMM1 feel out of all world levels. Only SMM2 thing in it are slopes and parachutes.
  60. Name is not a reference to anything, just a random phrase.
  61. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/CNk8KnjJKsY
  62.
  63. [2-3] Grey Corn
  64. This is an example of what happens if you combine kaizo and precision stuff. Level is kinda slow-paced because of that.
  65. Named like that because hardblock pillars look like corn cobs and they are grey.
  66. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/yMSZIQAjrhg
  67.
  68. [2-4] Nature's Mockery
  69. This is my second favorite level in the world. It has an unique mix of water and ground tricks, I really like how it turned out.
  70. Also it has a reference to GPW2. You will probably find it.
  71. Named after a thing from analog horror video from Gemini Home Entertainment channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAK9uxwCOM4 (at 2:28)
  72. I highly recommend to check out this channel, it has amazing content.
  73. The reason it named like that is because the level looks like a wild forest with a lot of things that can kill you. LOL
  74. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/_GGPH5Bnfzc
  75.
  76. [2-B] Warp Drive (Clear Video Recommended)
  77. First bonus level. I've had this idea for a very long time, now it is done! The level is made using the aesthetics from old SMB3 glitch called Credits Warp (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWbZFj-cLvk you can see them from 4:39).
  78. Also the preview is the screen where the warp happens. And the last note block represents an invisible note block that triggers the warp in original game.
  79. Also this level can be tricky to figure out without a clear video, so this is the first Clear Video Recommended™ level. I expect it to get cheesed first.
  80. Named after the song from VOEZ by Titancube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_DAMpxIMvk
  81. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/w37psrVmdcc
  82.
  83. [3-1] Pillars of Pepper
  84. This level has a lot of momentum control jumps as well as the first shelljump. You need to be pretty good at this game to beat it.
  85. Baby part is over, let's get serious. Goombud before thwomp in first section is jank, deal with it.
  86. Named after the song by Lifeformed (Dustforce OST): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGFuSGi1bsw
  87. I've heard this song in Chubbyemu videos. -emia means presence in blood.
  88. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/MD_2w7l6BXM
  89.
  90. [3-2] TMiG-226 Shroom Rainship (Clear Video Recommended)
  91. Level inspired by level with the same theme from Team Pipe world. Second half is shorter, but has a difficulty spike.
  92. Name is the reference to TMiG-226 Koala Killer, the space ship from old scroll-shooter game called Jets'n'Guns (https://store.steampowered.com/app/262260/JetsnGuns_Gold)
  93. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/Sc_RYHZGsHU
  94.
  95. [3-3] Waffle Pandemic
  96. The first level that I can call hard. Momentum jumps, a lot of tap-jumps, speed control. And from this level you can tell that I like tight star sections. First trick after the CP belongs to sipwater, he always comes up with some creative setups.
  97. Named after a song by a_hisa (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=048-Iiilpn8)
  98. Yellow pipes and blocky design look like waffles to me. And a lot of spikes indicate that these waffles are infected LOL
  99. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/q83NImLwqRE
  100.
  101. [3-4] Upside Down Stalagmite
  102. You thought that tap-jumps, speed control and momentum are gone? There are even more in this level! Heavily inspired by Nurket. This level will be a big difficulty spike if you are not using re-grabs when controlling your jumps. Re-grab is where you release the jump button to do a controlled jump and then instantly press and hold the jump button again. In this game, doing this slows your acceleration while falling, so if you do it fast enough, you can "float" a bit a gain more horizontal distance with controlled jump.
  103. Also conveyor belts are fun!
  104. Named after song from the same Dustforce OST (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq2AE76Vzuc)
  105. Upside down stalagmites should be hanging from ceiling, and icicles exactly the ones that do.
  106. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/7VJ-dQLrVfs
  107.
  108. [3-B] !!!カオスタイム!!!
  109. Pure chaos. DO NOT WATCH THE VIDEO before playing. Some puzzle elements. Was very annoying to upload. I expect this to be cheesed very
  110. fast, but level was kinda made for it, so I will not reupload if that happens.
  111. Named after this song by t+pazolite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogZ23qZKs2w
  112. Bаnger.
  113. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/vAhnYzUUJQU
  114.
  115. [4-1] Sea of Blissful Awareness
  116. Rare underwater level. This was supposed to be a 2 section level, but SMM2 has so limited water tech, I had to shrink it to one section. SMW is way better in terms of water, only tech working in SMM2 is fast ascending while holding POW and UP button.
  117. You can go slow on the last section, but then pokeys will be jank.
  118. Name is the reference to this song by Shpongle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kQ2chzyB_0
  119. I thought of the name first, then decided to make an underwater level.
  120. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/Kzo8U_xHP7Y
  121.
  122. [4-2] Celestial Stinger
  123. I absolutely love this level. This is probably the best level I've ever made. It has cloud section, star section, maxed powerup limit in main world, what more do you want?
  124. Named after this bаnger from SDVX by Noah: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gWFAa3ByLM
  125. First reason of this name: level is very fast, you have to go instantly almost everywhere, the song is also very fast.
  126. Second reason of this name: level theme. It looks celestial and it stings.
  127. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/TyGR3Jf4Sp0
  128.
  129. [4-3] Aphrodite Dump Trade
  130. This level was supposed to be a skytree level, but screw skytrees. Just climb the regular tree.
  131. First half is harder than the second half for some reason. This level may be easier than previous one for some people.
  132. Useful tip: you will jump 1 block higher from vines if you grab them by tapping the UP button instead of holding. I don't know why that works, you still have to get a running start from the vine tho.
  133. Name is just random phrase that has no relation to level contents. Turns out that my brain is very good at generating them.
  134. There is no Aphrodite at the top. (SORRY)
  135. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/WKn3g9lLZMo
  136.
  137. [4-4] Cloudscape Architect
  138. I was trying to go romhack-style with tricks and aesthetics at this one. It kinda turned out okay. There are not a lot of tricks, but all of them are tight, some even stretched.
  139. Named after this song by meganeko: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiDOeg-e0HQ
  140. There are not a lot of clouds in the level, but the map has pixel-art of them! This is the first of 3 pixel-arts in the world.
  141. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/sHC9PRvlOoY
  142.
  143. [4-B] Negative Anivia Yikers (Clear Video Recommended)
  144. The first NSMBU speedrun I made, also the hardest level I've ever uploaded. Inspired by many SMM1 NSMBU speedruns. Has a huge pixel art on the map.
  145. I learned a lesson to never put fullspeed midair POW-drops in a middle of a level while uploading this. I was getting it in 1/3 of the runs. Horrible. Absolutely the hardest level of the world. And one of the best ones. I shortened the level a bit to make sure I have enough time, but still had 0.5 seconds left at the end.
  146. Name comes from this League of Legends meme video: https://youtu.be/X0KEC7VzfEQ?t=431 (insert  emoji here)
  147. I heard this phrase and I instantly wrote it down as one of potential level names. Pixel art has the character Anivia from LoL and a huge minus sign because she is negative apparently.
  148. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/1tWWFX097ic
  149.
  150. [5-1] Chicxulub Impactor (Clear Video Recommended)
  151. (Easy) level for players to take a break after tough 4-4 or 4-B. Full Yoshi kaizo with Yoshi murder. Yoshi is a Tool™
  152. Has rare purple fire. I used second run button to control Yoshi's tongue, keep this in mind.
  153. This level had a lot of cheese during building process, I fixed all I could find, but I still expect it to get cheesed somehow.
  154. Named after an asteroid that presumably caused dinosaurs to go extinct (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicxulub_crater)
  155. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/Tqyb4yzr3iQ
  156.
  157. [5-2] Fairy in Strasbourg (Clear Video Recommended)
  158. I tried to make a new soup kaizo that actually uses new soup move set like groundpounds and twirls. Pretty fun and not annoying level. I wish SMM2 had more levels like that, because this one is kinda unique, I never (or very rarely) seen ones that are similar to it.
  159. Named after the song from SDVX by Laur: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD7zeEXxFMo
  160. I don't know why, but I think that this music perfectly fits this aesthetics. Level looks a bit empty tho, I tried to make it more alive by adding vines and overlaying semisolids. I think that real Strasbourg is not that empty.
  161. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/lccZkOmwGlw
  162.
  163. [5-3] For Ultra Players
  164. This level is a bit scuffed. I do not like ON/OFF switches and I do not like platforms of tracks that much, but Ultra Star style level has to have both. I think I got the feeling of the original level right, but one section still can be reset and another one can be skipped with very precise jump. I will not say which ones tho. I died a lot on the last setup on upload, whew.
  165. Probably the most modern-looking level in the world.
  166. Named after this song from SDVX by cosMo@暴走P: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbPFx8OxR8Q
  167. Pretty obvious name, Ultra Star style + hard and fast level.
  168. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/D_cvg6AsO4Q
  169.
  170. [5-4] Goodnight, Sweet Prince
  171. Ultimate consistency test. 6-room final castle with boss fight at the end. Only one CP before boss fight. No really tight tricks, but level is very long so you need to be consistent in all rooms. Was nerfed 2 times.
  172. Bowser killed me like 10 times during the upload, 2 times at 6 hits, I was drained after this level. My nerves were getting close to be destroyed and I was making all dumb mistakes that were possible. You guys will have the CP...
  173. I learned a lesson not to use mecha-koopas in long boss fights because of their weird wake up mechanic.
  174. Last required level in the world. GG?
  175. Name is the famous quote from Hamlet. This was simply the worst upload of all world levels. The "Sweet Prince" was me all the time.
  176. This level has the 3rd and the last pixel art in the world.
  177. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/CaM07BJNR9M
  178.
  179. [5-B] Nostalgic Blood of the Strife (Clear Video Recommended)
  180. Expert kaizo level heavily inspired by Trials of Death by ChainChompBraden (I even took 2 setups straight from it, sorry LOL)
  181. This level may be easier than 5-4 because it has CPs. I one-shotted the ending on upload, phew.
  182. Last Setup loves you!
  183. Named after song from SDVX by Laur: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7xhf4xQWB4
  184. Listen to the quote at 0:38 and you will understand why I named it like that.
  185. Clear Video: https://youtu.be/HtDbenAfcTg
  186.
  187. If you cleared all the levels: Congratulations, you are an Ultra Player!
  188.
