- In an interview with Wired, CEO Jim Ryan had confirmed that the scheduled launch for the PS5 is in Holiday 2020.
- Only a few exclusive games have been announced thus far for the PS5 platform, some of which include: Rainbow Six Quarantine, Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs Legion. However, there are bound to be sequels for fan-favorite games, such as Spider-Man, and God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, that will be available. Upcoming games like Ghosts of Tsushima and The Last of Us: Part II are highly likely to get PS5 ports as their release dates are close to that of the PS5’s.
- Features that may be surprising to gamers are the addition of an SSD and a GPU that is supposedly on par with Nvidia’s RTX 2080. Naturally, the integration of this hardware will allow games to run much faster on the machine. The price tag of $499, along with comparable performances to traditional gaming PC’s may serve as an incentive to switch over.
- When questioned whether or not XBOX is concerned by the PS5’s release, the GM of Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg, stated that “we're more customer-obsessed than competitor-obsessed.” — their values have shifted over from that of competition to customer satisfaction.
