An impulsive act by a group of thrill-seeking teenagers sets in motion a chain of events that will change many lives.
Michael is having a bad day. Intense, impatient, self-absorbed, he crosses paths with several people in one 24-hour period who will change his life. Through the actions of these people, some of whom he will never meet, he receives many lessons in perspectives, perception, compassion, trust....and in the end, given the opportunity to forgive.
I've seen a lot of short films, and, often, the end credits are rolling before I feel like the film is "finished" and I leave with unanswered questions. Not the case with this gem! From beginning to end, this gripping short demands your attention and stays with you long after the credits roll. What writer and director Melanie Star Scot has managed to pack into 23 minutes is incredible... a feat of true talent! This short feels like a feature length film, complete with a powerful message, a great score, a talented cast, an engaging script... This journey that we embark on with a little red sports car is a journey like no other! Hats off to you, Melanie!
I loved this film! I felt inspired by watching it, and it reminded me of some of the more important things to remember in life that are easy to forget while dealing with the stresses of the day to day. I felt entertained throughout the film, loved the music very much, all the while getting a lot out of the main themes of the story. I especially loved how the different characters were all connected and how they came together by the end of the film in a beautiful way. I thought the acting was wonderful and I especially liked the interaction between the two brothers and the resolution was quite moving regarding the importance of family. I think films that have positive messages are really important for the good of the world. We all can be "lifted" up by films such as "Sangria Lift". I left the film feeling great (!) and the upbeat music was a reinforcement to the film's messages and quite catchy too.  We have so much to be grateful for and can always make the decision to be there to help other people and think the best of them. "Sangria Lift" does just that! Two thumbs up on "Sangria Lift"!
