  1. ~Confessions-?~
  2.
  3. "Hey, Al!"
  4.
  5. Alice turned to where the voice originated from.
  6.
  7. "Nisha"
  8.
  9. She smiled and waved her hand to her friend who was walking up the small slope.
  10.
  11. "Mind if I join? There's barely any space left in the canteen, and Jay is absent today so..."
  12.
  13. "I don't mind."
  14.
  15. Nisha plopped down next to her and took her lunch box from her bag. Only the clattering of silverware can be heard within their peaceful bubble.
  16.
  17. Alice heard a cough from her side, concluding that it was from Nisha.
  18.
  19. "Don't really want to sound rude and all, but why Jack?"
  20.
  21. "Huh?"
  22.
  23. That question took her back by suprise.
  24.
  25. "I mean, I'm not saying that he's a bad guy per se, but why do you like him? There's plenty of fish in the sea."
  26.
  27. "I...I'm not sure either..?"
  28.
  29. "What?"
  30.
  31. "It just... it just happened, alright? Hell, I wasn't even aware of it until you pointed it out!"
  32.
  33. "You're welcome about that~"
  34.
  35. Nisha teasingly winked at Alice and playfully nudged her arm. There was a bit of smugness in it.
  36.
  37. "Yeah, yeah, thanks, but honestly, it might be because of me getting attached to him? I mean, ever since he came back, he usually quote on quote forces me to be part of his group, unless it's by triad, and just... I guess you could say that I got used to it?"
  38.
  39. "Mhm..."
  40.
  41. "Then you could say that it just grew with time... but honestly, one question still bothers me until now."
  42.
  43. "Which is..?"
  44.
  45. "Why pick me? There are obviously much better candidates compared to me."
  46.
  47. "Huhu, maybe he likes you~"
  48.
  49. "Pfft, as if. He probably just thinks of as 'just a frie--"
  50.
  51. "NO. DONT YOU DARE UTTER THAT PHRASE."
  52.
  53. "You get my point though, right?"
  54.
  55. "No, not really. Don't you think it's strange though that he often just picks you? Also, you may not notice this, but he has been... trying to limit others from getting you in a sense-?"
  56.
  57. "Nisha, what."
  58.
  59. "Jack usually beelines to you the very moment the teachers say to go group yourselves and even before others can react."
  60.
  61. "Simone IS my seatmate, so he might just be going straight to him before others can which kinda makes me a more convenient pick, I guess?"
  62.
  63. "He also looks kind of murderous before during second year when someone got to you before him."
  64.
  65. Nisha shivered when the memory resurfaced.
  66.
  67. "I guess it isn't noticeable now for you to not notice."
  68.
  69. "Or you could be plainly assuming-?"
  70.
  71. Nisha sighed.
  72.
  73. "Look, I'm just pointing out what I notice, Al. Things that you're either not really noticing or you're in denial. again."
  74.
  75. "I don't think I am-?"
  76.
  77. "Bet."
  78.
  79. "Bet?"
  80.
  81. "I bet that he likes you."
  82.
  83. "You mean Jack?"
  84.
  85. "Yeah. If I'm right, you're paying next time we go to a café."
  86.
  87. "But if YOU'RE wrong, you have to publish your written works."
  88.
  89. "WHAT?! My consequence to you isn't even-- Y'know what? Fine. I accept your conditions."
  90.
  91. "Would you like me to confirm for you then~?"
  92.
  93. It was from a different person this time. It was Keith who was sitting on the otherside of the tree.
  94.
  95. "No one asked you, Keith."
  96.
  97. "My heart is hurt to hear you say those words, Al."
  98.
  99. "Also, since when were you here?"
  100.
  101. "Way before you got here?"
  102.
  103. "...So at the very beginning..?"
  104.
  105. "Yeep, from the very beginning, so how about that I offer I just said? I can confirm for you."
  106.
  107. "Can we really trust you on your word?"
  108.
  109. Alice was fairly skeptical. This was Keith they're talking about. He was one of the most unpredictable people she knew of.
  110.
  111. "I promise that I'll tell the truth~"
  112.
  113. Alice sighed. Might as well agree to get it over with. She also noticed that Nisha wasn't respomding to the conversation at all which was kinda weird.
  114.
  115. "Fine, fine."
  116.
  117. "So, would you like to know his answer now~?"
  118.
  119. "Now..? I mean, sure, I guess?"
  120.
  121. "That's your cue, Asendo."
  122.
  123. Wait, Asendo? WHAT.
  124.
  125. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that he was with me the whole time. Oops~ it probably slipped off of my mind."
  126.
  127. ...This will be awkward. Time to retreat...
  128.
  129. "You-You know, I forgot something in the classroom. I'll be taking my leave now."
  130.
  131. Alice immediately gathered her belongings and was about to flee the scene but was stopped by a hand resting on her shoulder.
  132.
  133. "I'll walk you then."
  134.
  135. She turned to face the person. It was Jack Asendo in the flesh. At that very moment, she wished that she had something she can use to slaughter either Keith or herself... or both. Any of the option would work fine.
  136.
  137. "It's fine. Just stay here."
  138.
  139. Alice started to speedwalk her way to the classroom. She could hear steps behind her and could deduce who it was.
  140.
  141. "That was a lame excuse, Al, lamer than your usual."
  142.
  143. Not this time, she's not exactly in the mood to banter with him while walking.
  144.
  145. "If you're just here to insult me then you can just--"
  146.
  147. "Look, I want to clear some things up, and I'd rather do it in a secluded area and NOT while walking in a hallway."
  148.
  149. Alice halted and sighed, might as well get over it.
  150.
  151. "Alright, follow me then."
  152.
  153. There was a bit of reluctance on her tone, but it wasn't noticed by Jack. She had led them to where the lockers were located. Surprising no one, no one was there.
  154.
  155. Alice turned to face Jack. Her arms are crossed infront of her chest.
  156.
  157. "Spill."
  158.
  159. "The shit Nisha told you was true, so better get that treat money ready. Look, I'm not gonna go full detail about my feelings for you, too sappy and awkward for both of our tastes."
  160.
  161. "..."
  162.
  163. "I like you, alright? You've caught my attention and had held it for... what now? A year or so?"
  164.
  165. Jack sighed, kind of feeling awkward for the current situation.
  166.
  167. "Would you go out with me?"
  168.
  169. "..."
  170.
  171. "..."
  172.
  173. "..."
  174.
  175. "...Al?"
  176.
  177. It looked like Alice snapped out of her daze. Damnit, she should really get her habit of leaving the real world whenever she starts to ovethink.
  178.
  179. "I...Sorry, I just--"
  180.
  181. "So what you and Nisha said a while ago was a lie--?"
  182.
  183. "What? NO! I'd love to go out with you, Jack."
  184.
  185. "Then why the long silence--?"
  186.
  187. "I was thinking! Ok? I'm still...I'm still processing what just happened... It just all feels surreal..?"
  188.
  189. "Be ready by 12 noon infront of Bookmania, the one you usually go to, on Saturday."
  190.
  191. "Oh wow, thanks for ignoring my confusion... Rude."
  192.
  193. "You still fell for me even with this quote on quote rude personality I have~"
  194.
  195. Alice groaned.
  196.
  197. "You're unbelievable."
  198.
  199. "Yeah, and you're stuck with me now."
  200.
  201. A smug expression was practically stamped on his facial expression.
  202.
  203. "...I hate you."
  204.
  205. "We all know that you actually love me~ You're also stuck with me now, so you'll be dealing with me more often <3"
  206.
  207. Alice swear"Hey, Al!"
  208.
  209. Alice turned to where the voice originated from.
  210.

  272.
  273. "Or you could be plainly assuming or one of your delusions-? He doesn't seem to be the type of guy to do that, and plus, you usually think almost any action you see as 'romantic'."
  274.
  275. "No, I don't--"
  276.
  277. Nisha only received a doubting look from her friend, and she sighed in defeat.
  278.
  279. "Ok, ok, maybe I do, but look, I'm just pointing out what I notice, Al. Things that you're either not really noticing or you're in denial. again."
  280.
