  1. Greenfield, Ireland
  2. (A full moon overhead lights up the freshly fallen snow in the meadows outside of Greenfield. Connar and Ashleigh stand just a few hundred meters north of the village, in the distance they can see a convoy of armored vehicles unloading several squads of Templar soldiers, while technicians set up some kind of high tech equipment on top of and behind the armored vehicles. To the east of the village Kate watches the woods looking for any signs of the advancing army, to the west Blaise and Kenzie wait alongside Emma (who is crocheting oblivious to the impending assault) for anyone who may try and attack from the west. Greenfeild itself appears to be all but deserted, but a careful observer would see several men and women on the roof tops crouched behind the chimneys clutching hunting rifles. Among these men is Flynn peering through a set of binoculars at the Templar convoy.)
  3. Flynn: (via comm) It looks like they are setting up some kind of tower not sure what it does, nothing good I’ll wager. There is a parking lot opposite the Long Hall, get them there and will do the rest.
  4. Connar: Copy that, I’m going to talk with them one last time before we start.
  5. Flynn: They have already got the guns out lad, I don't think there in the mood to talk.
  6. Connar: I have to try, if only to keep the town from being leveled.
  7. Flynn: (sigh) always with the fucking heroics, well it’s been an honor lad.
  8. Connar: You owe me a pint for that you little fucker.
  9. Flynn: (clicks off comm)
  10. Connar: Status report.
  11. Kate: Clear here.
  12. Kenzie: “Connar, Why don’t you ever invite me to some place nice.” (Takes in her surroundings)
  13. Blaise: “I’m green. Well you’re Green I’m just doing good. That reminds me though. Do you own everything here Doc? Family name, name of town; it isn’t coincidence… I don't believe in coincidence.”
  14. Connar: It’s a long story lad, I’ll tell you after we are done. How are you holding up Ashleigh?
  15. Ashleigh: (Ash flexes her fingers slightly, loosening up. Dressed in a modified Panoptic Core suit--covered in wires, with an Immaculate Carapace helmet retrofitted onto it--she’s not visually recognizable, although her voice might be.) Could be better, could be worse. Just say the word if you want me to try to kill, seems like it’d be a bad idea to start on that level.
  16. Connar: Best get this over with then. Should the talks fail, I’ll send up a flare, then just point and shoot.
  17. Ashleigh: Got it.
  18.
  19. Eastern front, Kate and Lula:
  20. (Kate can hear gunfire coming from the north, the battle has started. As she looks out on to the glistening snow she can see a lone figure in a Templar uniform approaching.)
  21. Isaac: (Snow crunching under his boots as he pulls what looks like a metal glove over his hand.)I was hoping I would find you here, I wanted to see what gave Worth so much trouble.
  22. Kate: (Kate has an L96 sniper rifle trained on Isaac. She examines him through the scope, looking for AEGIS gear and other surprises. She has a stack of chips ready to modify her weapons if required. She calls out.) “Brave boy. All alone in the killing field. What’s your name?”
  23. Isaac: I’m Knight Lt. Isaac reed, head of Third Sundays European operations and Executioner of the Templar, under its rightful leader, Joseph Combstock, and I have come here to end Greens meddling
  24. Kate: (She makes a minor adjustment to her sight, then fires a shot, aiming for the man’s neck.)
  25. (The shot hits Isaac but does not seem to faze him, there is no indication that he is using AEGIS)
  26. Isaac: Do you intend to hide behind walls or do you intend to fight me?
  27. Kate: “I intend to kill you. Sorry if that doesn’t meet with your expectations.” (Kate readies the next round with the rifle’s old-fashioned bolt action. This time she channels a decent amount of anima through the weapon, charging the bullet in its casing before she fires, what looks like a tracer round streaking towards Isaac’s forehead.)
  28. (The Bullet finds its mark and manages to draw bead of blood from Isaacs forehead.)
  29. Isaac: (teleporting to Kates location he brings his fist down on the rifle and destroys it.)
  30. Kate: (Kate takes half a step back as she draws her trademark twin SIG Sauer pistols from their shoulder holsters. She pours anima through the weapons as she begins firing while stepping back.)
  31. Issac: (not letting Kate give ground he balls in close to try and deliver an uppercut, while attempting to trip her up)
  32. Kate: (Kate switches direction as Isaac comes in close, pressing herself closer still, body-to-body if she can, almost in an embrace. She holds on to him for balance even as she tries to put one of her weapons to the man’s temple to fire a highly-charged shot at point blank.)
  33. Isaac: (putting his head down, he locks arms with Kate and flips her as he draws a hidden knife from his wrist and cuts her up the back.)
  34. (As Kate hits the ground, the white wolf leaps from her chest, latching on to Isaacs arm bringing him to the ground.)
  35. White wolf: (releasing Isaac, she returns to Kate’s side growling and baring her teeth the entire time.)
  36. Kate: (Kate stands, holstering one gun as she reaches back, gathering her own blood in her hand even as the long cut closes like a zip.) “You don’t fight like a gentleman, Knight Lt. Reed.” (The blood in her hand is reshaped into a dark red blade, sharp and thin.) “Neither do I, I’m afraid.” (She steps forward, intending to slash the man’s throat open.)
  37. -Merging files-
  38. (Lula has tracked a Templar convoy to a clearing in the woods about 5km from Greenfield, the agents are wearing a strange armor covered in eldritch runes. So far they have been silent and seem to be searching the forest for something.)
  39. Templar scout: Residual anima is strongest in this direction, if we are lucky green forgot to relocate this one. Follow me and ready the charges.
  40. (the convoy begins heading east into the woods, they seem to be on alert)
  41. Lula:(Approaches the convoy from behind, waving her arm above her head and making her presence quite obvious she wears full ninja gear (Assanatrix) with the exception of a Templar Cross over her chest. She calls out with her toffish London accent “OY...OY Executor Bluecrest Templar. What in the backwards buggard bird are you lot doing in this sodding sector? Huh? Huh!!?? OY! Which one of you piss kidneys is in charge of this cock up?”
  42. Templar scout: (shaking his head) temple hall gave the order for the regulars to clear out weeks ago.
  43. Lula: “Weeks ago? Weeks ago!!?? Are you takin the piss? Do they have any idea what’s happening in there? What are they telling you anyway? I’ve been hold up behind the wire for on toward three months now. Strange designs indeed about two...two half clicks ahead. What are they telling you? I may be able to tell you more.”
  44. Templar scout:..Hold on her, I want to call this into the squad leader. (As the scout tries to call back to the squad leader, he gets only static, behind it though the faint sound of chuckling can be heard)..Shit, it looks like Green has jammed the signal. Listen rookie we are here looking for a set of old rocks with spirals on them you seen anything like that?
  45. Lula: “Seen a couple of things like that. What are they?”
  46. Templar scout: Some Kind of Irish magic, Knight Lt. “Wanker” didn't tell us anything before sending us out. All we know is Green tried to hide them and so we have to have them.
  47. Lula: “We? Lt. Wanker? Who exactly are...we if I may ask? And I’d like to speak with this Lt. Wanker as well if that’s not too much trouble. (Stands with hands on her hips. Her mouth and everything below hidden but every aspect of her eyes indicating that she is not to be trifled with and is approaching the end of her patience)
  48. Templar Squad: (burst into laughter)
  49. Templar scout: You really are just a rookie, Knight Lt. Reed is not available right now, we'll talk as soon as the radio comes back online, stick with us it’s not safe to be alone out here.
  50. Lula: ((bursts out laughing as well...just a little too long, just a little too hard, just a little too -entirely- out of context)) “Ahh..ah ha...ah ha ha ha ha…..” (suddenly closes the distance between herself and the Templar Scout she’s been conversing with, she doesn’t lay hands on him, but she gets nice and close in the blink of an eye) “Not safe alone? I’d say you were stupid but it’s hardly your fault. Alone is the -only- way that you’re safe out here. You lot haven’t a notion of just what’s afoot here, so here’s what’s about to happen. You are going to fix your sodding radio, then you’re going to get me your Lt. Reed….you’re going to do this very quickly. Now are you going to do as I’ve asked or are you going to force me to explain -why- you are going to do as I’ve asked?”
  51. (As Lula speaks with the squad, she notices a fine white powder that begins to fill the air, the squads eyes begin to gloss over as their weapons fall from their hands as if they had been possessed by some unseen force. As they fall into a trance the radio crackles back to life.)
  52. Jon: Long time no see chuck (softly chuckling as the static returns.)
  53. Lula: (Narrows her eyes at the sudden clatter of assault weapons) “Bollocks.” (She crouches and approaches the radio listening carefully to the voice on the other end attempting to pick out any key identifying traits before she answers. As ever she does so in a voice that is not quite her own, in this case that of a chipper secretary) “I’m sorry but Mister Chuck isn’t available right now. Would you like to leave a message?”
  54. Radio: (a sharp whistling sound answers her, followed by the sound of a dial up modem)...hello...sweetling?...Sweetling!...tag...tag..tag..we’re it….follow the bee?...follow the bee!
  55. (As the radio repeats its message what looks like a swarm of black bees begins to descend on the woods, to her left she can see a single orange light leading her in the general direction the Templar were headed.)
  56. Lula: (Instinctually wave’s one hand about as the black bees set upon the woods. A sigh passes from her covered lips. Picking up the radio receiver with one gloved, fingerprint less hand she keys the handset before speaking) “I’m still not sure how to feel about you, but I will say this....you sound like a breakfast cereal advert.” (Her feelings made known she drops the handset and cautiously, but swiftly, follows the bee into the forest)
  57. (The bee leads her to a clearing in the woods, in the center of which is a large stone pillar covered in a spiral pattern that resembles a Celtic knot. At the base of the pillar, tangled in a thicket of dying tentacles is a white wolf pup trying to free itself, the orange light (which Lula can now identify as a bee from Agartha) landing on its head)
  58. Lula:(Lula regards the wolf pup) “Alright so let’s just establish things as they stand shall we. I’m a Templar badass more badass then Templar, and you’re bloody adorable. Seriously. I may well free you only to accidently hug and cuddle you to death. So….is this a risk we’re willing to take you and I? Thoughts?” (She seems to expect the wolf pup to respond with a clearly thought out articulately expressed reply)
  59. Wolf pup: (looking at Lula cautiously, he quietly whimpers)
  60. Lula: (Sighs) “Well clearly I have no defense for that.” (She approaches the ensnared wolf cub and kneels with the intent of taking hold of the dying tentacles and tearing them apart to liberate the adorable canine child.)
  61. Wolf Pup: (freed of the tentacles, he begins to runs around the stone pillar several time before jumping into it and seeming to vanish.)
  62. (As the black bees descend on the clearing, the stones begin to glow with anima, before finally filling the clearing with light and destroying the black bees.)
  63. Wolf pup: (emerging from the stone, he begins sniffing the ground to the north of the clearing as if it is looking for something.)
  64. Lula: (blinks at the sight of the pup suddenly vanishing into the stones. The sight of the light wiping out the bees gives her pause though) “Hmmm….that...that strikes me as less than positive.” (Again she looks to the wolf pup) “Any thoughts on that Wilberforce...that’s your name now by the way. Wilberforce, after William Wilberforce. He played a vital role in ending slavery in England and I freed you from tentacles so it seemed like an obvious connection. In other news, I’m following you now it would seem. So Wilberforce...where are we going from here?”
  65. Wolf pup: (Continuing to sniff the ground to the north, he looks in the direction of the village to the north before howling and running off towards it.)
  66. Lula: (dashes off behind Wilberforce with the kind of speed and agility that only manifests when an Olympic caliber athlete receives training from Temple Hall and a tap on the shoulder from Gaia herself)
  67. Wilberforce: (leads Lula to the eastern side of the village where she finds Kate and another white wolf facing down a Templar with bloody fist.)
  68. Isaac: You are far from a lady, (summoning an anima charge to his fist, he balls in close for another attack.)
  69. White Wolf: (charges Isaac and leaps at his throat)
  70. Isaac: (changes targets to the wolf and lands a direct hit)
  71. White wolf: (yelps in pain as it begins to shrink)
  72. Kate: (Kate’s lip curls in a silent snarl as she steps in and attempts to drive the point of her blood-blade, left-handed, into Isaac’s eye. Regardless of her success, she has not forgotten her other pistol, firing anima-charged shots from the hip, intended for Isaac’s midriff.)
  73. (Kate’s shots find their mark in Isaacs gut, as her blade is driven through his eye. As she pushes through the final inch of her blade, Isaac seems to dissolve and she feels a sharp blow to her side. As she is sent across the road and through a house wall.)
  74. Isaac: Nicely done, I didn't think you had it in you. But the truth be told, I’m getting rather bored so why don't we finish this.
  75. (As Isaac stands over her, she can see the white wolf standing behind him beginning to dissolve into anima. As the wolf dissolves, she can feel power surging through her body.)
  76. Wilberforce: (Seems to be distressed at the sight of the dissolving wolf pup. Looking at Lula and then back at the other wolf pup, as if he is weighing an important decision. Appearing to have made up his mind, he turns to get a running start before charging at Lula. When he is about 2 meters away from her, he leaps into the air and into Lula's chest, seem to vanish in the process.)
  77. Lula:(Blinks in confusion at the sudden rush of the small wolf cub, but holds back from swatting it out of the air, safe in her confidence that this is going somewhere. She watches it fly through the air and -into- her chest where it blinks out of existence….or into her….or something…)
  78. “Hmm….right then.”
  79. (A sudden surge of anima begins welling up inside Lula, the world around her seems to slow down as Isaac who had been blinking in and out of existence during his fight with Kate can now be seen below, moving quickly but still visible.)
  80. Lula:”Hmm. Not entirely sure how I got here or what I should be doing, but that’s not really different from most days. Tally ho I suppose.” (And with that Lula hurls herself down toward the two combatants of varying degrees of blinking in and out of existence).
  81. Isaac: (Having sent Kate through the house wall, he turns his attention to Lula, attempting to land an uppercut that only barely grazes her chin.) I was wondering when you were going to show yourself.
  82. Lula:(She receives the attack with all the easy fluidity of drunk water. Her head moves back just fractions of a second before the full force of the blow connects. The kinetic energy dissipated through her petite form in a wavelike roll more akin to a dancer than a fighter. The last of the energy of the blow is dispersed in a half step backwards to distance herself from Isaac)
  83. “Oh are...are we doing banter? I’ve always -wanted- to do banter. Wait wait wait I can think of something uhm…” (She clears her throat and takes on a starlet’s over stylized cool expression) “Well I make a point of arriving fashionably late to boring affairs.” (She half smiles waiting expectantly for some feedback from what is evidently her enemy in this flick. All the while shifting her stance and circling to the left, her flippant manner a somewhat desperate ploy to buy time necessary to size up the environment, and her foe)
  84. Isaac: (closing the distance between Lula and himself, he locks arms with her before attempting to strike at her head again.)
  85. Lula: (Knows her strengths well, and actual physical strength is not one of them. And yet her size has its advantages. She allows Isaac to lock her left arm with his own only to attempt to avoid the incoming right handed blow by ducking low, and corkscrewing beneath his extended left arm in an attempt to bind the appendage painfully behind his back with clear intent to dislocate his shoulder in the very near future if at all possible.)
  86. Isaac: (his arm detaches from his body as he jumps away from Lula and regains his stance, the blood stump of his arm quickly turns black as it turns to a tentacle before reforming into a new arm. Not waiting for her reaction, Isaac begins to charge lula again.)
  87. Lula: “Hmm.” (The superpower on display draw a short hum of understated displeasure from the Templar, even as she waits for Isaac to draw to within 10 meters of her. Only then does she suddenly dash off to her right breaking into a full sprint in a split second. The goal being to force Isaac to redirect his momentum, slowing his pursuit if that is indeed his intention. A delaying tactic to be sure, but she needs to buy some time to work up a plan for just -how- she is going to down this regenerating monstrosity.)
  88. (Seeming to come from the moon above an enormous white wolf falls from the sky, taking a protective stance near Lula, baring its large white teeth.)
  89. Wilberforce: (Growling)
  90. Lula:(Fakes and stutter steps and generally does everything in her power to be challenging to catch, pausing only at the arrival of Wilberforce).
  91. Isaac: (stepping back) I see you found one of those things, no matter, I can handle you both.
  92. Wilberforce: (opening his mouth, an orange light appears and begins drawing in filth)
  93. Isaac: (Struggling to hold his ground, his eyes turn black with filth. instead of resisting the pull of the light he moves towards at frighting speed, redirecting his momentum at the last moment to strike Wilberforce.)
  94. Wilberforce: (yelps in pain as he is knocked across the field in Kate's direction.)
  95. Lula: (Began wheeling rapidly to her right away from Wilberforce as soon as the orange light came from its snout given that she has no idea exactly what is going to happen next. The attack on the canine provides Lula with something she’s been looking for since this whole mess began. An opening. Darting back in toward Isaac from its 7 o’clock blind side she draws a pair of throwing daggers from her back to send them flying toward the back of Isaac’s head before she takes to the air behind the flying bits of steel with the intent of bringing the monster’s dismembered arm down in a flying overhead smash)
  96. (The combination of the dagger and overhead blow seem to cause Isaac's head to shatter and his corpse to fall to the ground.)
  97. Wilberforce: (seeming to shrink as the battle rages around him.)
  98. (As it appears the battle is ending Lula can see a bright green light in the distance, something else is happening in the village. As she looks in that direction, she can hear someone whisper in her ear.)
  99. Isaac: Nicely done (said as he strikes her in the ribs, sending her through a stone wall and the other wall of the house.)
  100. Lula: (Lula's heavy breathing stops suddenly for a beat before a bone shattering blow sends her flying through the air like a limp blond tank shell. She lands on her back and rolls onto the side with comparatively intact ribs where she coughs up blood.)
  101. Kate: (Kate has several broken bones, lacerations and, hmm, internal bleeding. Houses will do that to a person. In her world of pain she has nevertheless managed to keep a grip on her handgun. She raises it, aiming for Isaac’s heart, channeling every last ounce of power she has into one shot.)
  102. (The bullet rings out throughout the town and finds Isaacs heart, putting a basketball sized hole in his chest.)
  103. Isaac: (with a look of shock on his face he falls to the floor and appears to die)
  104. Kate: (Kate didn’t leave herself enough for healing. She spies Lula, gives a weak smile through bloody lips and goes still, eyes staring sightlessly on.)
  105. Lula: (Lula smiles weakly back, before it twists into a grimace of agony as her body attempts to heal itself.)
  106. (The blood on the floor begins to turn black underneath Kate as new tentacles begin to rise up out of the ground. Plugging the hole in Isaacs chest. As another set of tentacles rise up to lock around Kate’s hands, Isaac begins to pull himself up off the ground.)
  107. (As Kate and Lula lay in the snow gasping for breath, Isaac stands over them cracking his knuckles and preparing to deliver the final blow.)
  108. Isaac: (As he raises his fist, a blue bolt of anima seems to come from nowhere and takes his hand off)
  109. (In the distance they can see what looks like a woman in camo pants and a heavy black sweater, awkwardly aiming a third age sniper rifle.)
  110. Isaac: (clutching his stub of a hand, he opens a rift and sensing the battle is lost retreats.)
  111. Sniper: (clumsily bounding through the snow, she kneels over the exhausted wolf pups, before taking a sample of their fur.)
  112. (As Kate and Lula, look on their eyes meet the snipers, (big brown eyes behind thick glasses strapped to her head with a rubber band) before she seems to panic and takes something resembles a video game controller from her messenger bag and begins to open a breach)
  113. Kate: (She winces as a bone snaps back into place, coughs and roughly calls out,) “Wait!”
  114. (The sniper does not seem to respond, but instead takes out her phone and presses a button causing every cell phone in the town to ring before disappearing through the breach)
  115.
  116. Western front, Blaise and Kenzie
  117. (Blaise and Kenzie can hear the gunfire coming from the north, Emma seems not to notice the commotion. In the distance they can see a woman in a lab coat who appears to be in her late 50’s, pushing what appears to be a child in wheel chair through the snow. The Woman stops about 500 meters away from them before whispering something into the child’s ear.)
  118. Kenzie: (Kenzie hurries to the civilian ”Miss we should get you to some place safer than here. “ (over com) “Blaise be useful.”
  119. Emma: (continuing to work on a scarf) I’m fine dear, Connar ask me to stay here in case either of you needed help.
  120. Blaise: (Flashes her his usual sly grin of malice. then goes off to scout the perimeter through stealth and short range teleportation from cover to cover.
  121. The child: seems to tense up in her chair as Kenzie approaches
  122. Dr. West: you may want to step back.
  123. (As Kenzie approaches the woman and the girl, the space around them seems to warp as three breaches open up behind them. A swarm of the ak’ab hybrids come spilling out of the first, while infected Templar soldier come out of the second. The final brings forth one of the seraphim (zero point pathogen bird-human hybrid). The girls face seems to grow more and more distressed as more creatures take the field. To the north and to the east Kenzie can hear the sound of gunfire and magic, a large chunk of the hybrid swarm break off from the battle in search of Blaise. As the swarm flies off towards the village, the infected Templar begin rushing towards Kenzie.)
  124. Kenzie: (casts an ice manifestation to slow down Templar while she sets up her auto turret to give extra fire power)
  125. (The ak’ab flock to the ice manifestation, as the turret activates and begins mowing down the Templar soldier and ak’ab hybrids. The more Templar and ak’ab hybrids that Kenzie kills the more distressed the girl in the wheelchair seems to become and the breaches seem to open wider. The seraphim seems undeterred by the turrets and continues its advance.)
  126. Dr. West: (smiling as she watches the battle)
  127. Kenzie:(Drawing and cocking a shot gun from behind her, Kenzie fires round into the freezing Templar, shattering several of them in the process. As she circles back around to the village, she turns her attention to the swarm of ak’ab hybrids and filling the night sky with chain lighnting. Hundreds of the hybrids fall to the earth as she circles back around to deal with more of the Templar. For every hybrid or Templar she kills though two more come from the breach.)
  128. (As Kenzie holds back the flood of Templar. The seraphim continues to advance on her position, raising ice spikes in its path before lunging at Kenzie with its blade’s drawn.)
  129. Kenzie: (The turrets lock on to the massive creature as she dives out of the way. The turrets seem to do little more than anger the creature, until Kenzie summons an ice spike and drives it through the creatures chest, before driving another four spikes through its arms and legs. Before she can finish the creature off, another wave of Templar emerge from the breach demanding her attention. She has managed to hold the line so far but for how long.)
  130. -merging files-
  131. (As Blaise makes his way through the streets of Greenfield, he can hear a familiar clicking sound that seems to be coming from overhead. As he turns around to investigate he sees a swarm of the ak’ab human hybrids silhouetted against the moon coming in his direction.)
  132. Blaise: (over com) “Dammit! I thought this was goanna be a standup fight Doc; not another bug hunt. What I wouldn’t give for a lousy can of Raid.” (Focuses his Anima to chain lightning)
  133. (Before Blaise’s chain lightning can strike the swarm, a pillar of green light falls from the sky causing the entire swarm to pop in a shower of blood and bones. The apparent source of the green light lay in the streets below, hobbling along on her cane, Emma the old woman Connar sent to fight with Kenzie and Blaise seems to have gotten separated from Kenzie, but appears to be unharmed.)
  134. Emma: (Looking up at Blaise) Oh...Hello Connar’s friend, could you help me find the young lady with red hair. I had to use the little girl’s room and I seem to have gotten lost.
  135. Blaise: “wait she didn’t help you? Where did she go?” (Pans the area to make sure it’s clear before he took off)
  136. (Blaise can hear the gunfire in the distance in combination with screams of the dying hybrids and Templar. Kenzie is indeed close by)
  137. Emma: She came to help me and then the young lady with the little girl in the wheelchair started causing trouble. Nature was calling so I excused myself and now I seem to have lost her, would you be a dear and help me find my way back lad?
  138. Blaise: ”I’m confused the lady with the wheelchair is a bad guy?”
  139. Emma: I think so, she opened up those dreadful holes in the sky or may haps it was the woman behind her. It’s always difficult to tell with that kind of magic, either way I think we should go help your friend...What was your name again lad?
  140. Blaise:(Flashing his Cheshire grin as he jumps from the roof) Most people just call me trouble, but you can call me Blaise. (Said as he slightly bows)
  141. Emma: (slightly flustered, before curtsying) Emma Durkan, its a pleasure to meet you Blaise.
  142. (As they speak they can hear an explosion to the west, followed by gun shots.)
  143. Emma: I think we should be going, it sounds like things are getting serious.
  144. Blaise: Help is on the way! (Said as he scoops Emma up into his arms and begins carrying her along the roof top.)
  145. (As the run along the roof tops, Blaise can see men in black leading a spider like creature into the center of the village and he can hear gunshots coming from the east. The fighting in the west seems to becoming more intense though. As they arrive at the village entrance where they left Kenzie, they find a mound of ak’ab hybrid corpses and the slowly dissolving remains of the infected Templar. The girl in the wheelchair seems to be having some kind of seizure and Dr. West is growing increasingly impatient.)
  146. Kenzie:(Freezing the corpses into a solid wall that she ducks behind for cover while loading more shells into her gun.)
  147. Blaise: (leaping down behind the wall before setting Emma down. smiling at the carnage) I love what you have done with the place.
  148. Kenzie: Not the time or the place, the girl in the chairs seems to be the one bringing things through the breach, but it looks like I exhausted her. If we can get her away from that woman, I think we can stop any more of them from coming through.
  149. Blaise: I can get her if you can keep the others off me.
  150. Kenzie: Do it (peeking out from behind the wall, Kenzie brings down a torrent og lightning while firing at Dr. West.)
  151. Blaise:(teleporting a short distance, he grabs the convulsing girl from her chair only to have an unseen force seize him by the neck, dropping the girl in the process.)
  152. (The same unseen force that grabbed Blaise soon pulls Kenzie out from behind the wall and dragges her toward Dr. West)
  153. Dr. West: (her eyes glowing with a red light.) I have wasted enough time on you.
  154. (As Dr. West prepares to tighten her grip and snap their necks, another unseen force comes crashing through the frozen wall knocking back Dr. West, freeing Kenzie and Blaise in the process.)
  155. Blaise: Glowing red eyes, Check. Rifts in the sky, Check. Angry creatures coming out of said Rift, double check. It would be nice to actually -be- the Inquisitor right now.
  156. Emma: My, my, my, what a rude girl. Coming into someone elses home without invitation, destroying their yard, harming their friends...I’m afraid there is just no place for you here in Greenfield, why don't you go home before you get hurt.
  157. Dr. West: (shielding her glowing eyes) and who are you to tell me to leave.
  158. Emma: Someone whom you should speak to with respect. (Letting her long gray hair down, she begins to rise off the ground, as thin arcs of green lightning begin to jump from her fingers.)
  159. Dr. West: (casting a bolt of red lightning in Emma’s direction only to have it bounce off some unseen barrier.)
  160. Emma: (softly cackling as the lightning is deflected)
  161. Dr. West: (lips beginning to curl into a snarl, she summons another unseen force in an attempt to push Emma back to earth.)
  162. (Emma is pushed down temporarily but soon bounces back up and seem to knock back Dr. West in the process.)
  163. Emma: (her soft cackling gives way to maniacal laughter, the glow of the green lightning making her look the very picture of a story book witch.)
  164. Dr. West: (summoning her own storm of red lightning, she redoubles her efforts to strike at Emma.)
  165. (The two magi continue to trade blows for what seem like an eternity until finally, the sound of an explosion from the center of town seems to catch Dr. West off guard. In this moment of weakness her barrier is breached by an arch of green lighting that sends her to her knees.)
  166. Dr. West: (her lab coat torn and her face chard from the strikes, she opens a breach behind her and quickly escapes.) All you have won is a reprieve, I will return and when I do, you and this wretched backwater will burn. (as the breach closes behind her, the only thing that can be seen from the darkness is a pair of glowing red eyes, burning with hatred.)
  167. Emma: (returning to earth as she puts her hair back up in a bun) kids these days, no manners at all...oh Mr. Blaise, please forgive me I forgot you were there. Could you please collect the young lady who was in the wheelchair, I would imagine Connar wants to speak with her.
  168. Blaise: (teleporting to pick up the girl, he then teleports to meet Emma, his smile returning to his face) where to Emma?
  169. Emma: If I remember correctly, he said the long hall, it’s at the center of town. we just take this road for few blocks and then turn left of St. Patrick Ave. (picking up her cane she begins to hobble toward the center of town) Oh, I almost forgot, thank you Kenzie for covering for an old lady while she answered nature's call, I’m sorry I got lost on the way back.
  170. Kenzie: (Staring at the old woman in disbelief)...you're welcome
  171.
  172. Northern front, Connar and Ashleigh:
  173. (Connar begins to approach the Templar with his sword sheathed and his hands in the air. The Templar scouts respond by opening fire and advancing on the village.)
  174. Connar: (Ducking behind a stone wall, he points the flare gun towards the now advancing Templar and fires. He then begins to make his way along the stone wall in an attempt to flank another squad.)
  175. Ashleigh: (Initially starting by flickering atop a nearby rooftop, she watched for a sign of hostilities. Seeing one very quickly, she wound up and threw an impressive fireball, sailing through the air before exploding on the ground in front of the advancing Templars. It’s a vast, although ultimately harmless, explosion; a warning shot. And it certainly looks far more destructive than your average elementalist fireball. She shouted down at them directly afterwards, as authoritatively as possible.) If you lot know what’s good for you, RUN!
  176. (The Templar don’t seem to listen, they split up and continue to move forward towards the village. Behind them two large towers begin rising up from behind the armored vehicles, lightning begins to arc between the two towers as a large sphere of anima begins to form. From behind the vehicles a second squad emerges and begins to advance towards the village. 6 shots ring out from behind the stone wall as the heads of three of theTemplar in the second squad pop in a cloud of red mist.)
  177. Connar: I’m making my way to the towers now, can you buy me some time Ashleigh?
  178. Ashleigh: Can do, I’m not letting Templars out-tech me. (She points down at the first Templar squad, as a wall of flame erupts around them, halting their progress…. and burning so much hotter than such a move should. Pointing with her other hand at one of the two vehicles in front of her, a bolt of lightning flies out towards it, aimed squarely at the engine.)
  179. (The hood of the vehicle begins to glow orange as it is heated up by the lightning bolt before finally catching fire and exploding, killing several Templar in the process. Two more squads emerge from one of the other vehicles, as the advancing Templar deploy AEGIS based riot shields. The squad approaching the firewall now split up into two groups and begin heading for the eastern and western entrances of the village. Before they can leave the battlefield though, two shots come from the roof tops behind Connar and Ashleigh. The clumsily aimed shots seem only meant to draw the Templars attention to the roofs, where two black figures with what appear to be crude tentacles coming out of their heads race along the roof tops toward the center of the village)
  180. Templar Squad leader: HQ we have a visual on the infected, disengage the dissidence and proceed with containment protocols.
  181. (Several Templar at the back of the third squad unsling grenade launchers and take aim at Ashleigh firing several round in her direction, as a beam of orange light shoots from the towers setting several of the buildings on fire.)
  182. Ashleigh: (Ash turned to notice the infected men, only to turn back again as she heard the grenades. From the distance she was standing, she only had to bounce back a small amount to dodge them, but it still seemed to alert her. She spoke into her comm as she raised her arms in a combat-ready, almost defensive posture.) They want the infected dead and gone, that’s what the Crosses are here for. How do we show them we’re on the same side? Beat ‘em to it, or give ‘em a good look at my Panoptic?
  183. Connar: Take another look at that infected.
  184. (As one of the fleeing infected ducks behind a chimney, the moon light illuminates its tentacles revealing them to be nothing more than a dirty mope on the head of volunteer militia man.)
  185. Connar: they came here because they think the town is infected and it's that belief that’s going to lead us to victory. Piss them off and then follow the volunteers into the center of the city, they should be gathering at a parking lot opposite a pub called the long hall.
  186. (As the battle continues the air begins to fill with a very fine white powder that seems to be making it difficult for the Templar to breath. Behind them they can hear the screaming of animals coming from the village mixed with the sound of explosions to the east and west respectively.)
  187. Ashleigh: Alright… I don’t claim to get it, but I’ll see what I can do to piss them off. I’m good at th--...I AM good at that. Alright, how about we give them a shot at a wanted felon. (Noticing a relatively clear spot in between the Templar’s main convoy and the walls, Ash disappears in a blue light, reappearing in the clearing. She raises her hands above her head, letting three walls of flame erupted around her--in the blatant shape of a triangle. She shouts at the Templars, having turned on a voice modulator to hide her identity… or perhaps to assume another.) Remember Cornwall, motherfucks? I’M BACK.
  188. Templar Squad Leader: Alpha, Delta, Phi, brake off formation and deal with the Illuminati… (Static crackles over the Templar radio the signal is lost, behind the static a voice can be heard chuckling)
  189. (Three of the squads, that previously been pursuing the mock infected, begin to clutch their heads in pain before finally standing back up right and starring in Ashleigh’s direction)
  190. Connar: (Having made it behind the armored vehicles, he plants charges at the base of one of the towers sends in toppling into the other) That was too easy, one second and I’ll…(the static returns over the comm followed by the same chuckling followed by a voice)…you like spiders chuck?
  191. Ashleigh: Hi, John. How’s opening that door going? Slow, I imagine, that thing’s big… but, if you excuse, we’re a tad busy here. (She clearly wants to start taking some shots at people, but the distraction isn’t necessarily to her liking. She wants their attention, not just their bullets.)
  192. (As the towers collapse, what looks like a black cloud passes in front of the moon, accompanied by a buzzing sound, the space in front of them seems to warp as a breach opens and dropping their guns, the Templar begin to charge in Ashleighs direction a new creature emerges from the breach. Its pale human skin stretched over an arachnid like exoskeleton, its head is filled with 8 enormous black eyes and its fingers seem to be covered in hooks. Under its eyes are a pair of enormous brown fangs, in front of the fangs are two boney mandibles carefully gliding over the brown enamel.)
  193. Kinam: (speaking in a barely audible whisper) our mistress has decreed that you will not interfere with the heretic’s assault (unfolding a pair of shriveled arms from its chest he points towards Connar as a swarm of Black Bees descend from the sky and the Templar charge Ashleigh.)
  194. Ashleigh: Damnit… I like John, why couldn’t it be John? Oh well. (Ash quickly turns around as she flickers away, reappearing about twenty feet closer to the village. She raises one hand as a gnarled, root-like structure grows from the ground, zapping all nearby foes with electricity, before running into the village, trying to make her way to the square.)
  195. Kinam: (Pulling its limbs back up into his body it begins to scurry after a Ash, the electricity seeming to strike it but not harm it.)
  196. Connar:(As Connar is engulfed in the black bees, a flare of anima, erupts around him temporarily parting the bee's, as he chases after Kinam, sword and pistol drawn.)
  197. (The Templar that had been chasing Ash are stopped by the root as they burn themselves trying to chase after her and Connar. The streets of Greenfield are little more then converted horse paths, and old cobblestone streets, as Ash follows the mock infected through the streets she can hear the battle intensifying outside the town to the east in west and Kinam does not seem to be tiring from the chase. They finally come to an old stone building with a wood sign that read The Long Hall pub, across the street is the empty parking lot Connar spoke of. Kinam close behind them clicking his fangs together has spotted Ash, however Connar seems to have disappeared.)
  198. Connar: (via comm) I need you to keep him in the parking lot for about 120 seconds, I need to prime the other half of this weapon that Flynn brought here.
  199. Ashleigh: (Ash isn’t a long-distance runner, so she’s somewhat tired by the time she reaches the pub, but she’s no less determined once she does.) Hah, two minutes? Easy. (The spider-thing wasn’t too far behind her, and once it reaches the area Ash brought up a wall of flame behind it, trying to make sure it stayed inside. It’s perhaps at this point that the slight smell of burning flesh could be smelled--it’s only mild right now, like a distant barbeque, but it’s there if one were acute enough to notice.)
  200. Kinam: (rubbing its mandibles against its fangs) you will never leave this place. (Unfolding another set of legs from its abdomen it hugs the grounds and raises it thorax into the air spraying noxious black mist into the air.)
  201. (As the mist settles, the white powder begins appear again, making it difficult to breath, as the buzzing of the black bees seems to grow louder.)
  202. Kinam: (Raising himself up onto his back legs he lunges towards Ash with his Fangs extended.)
  203. Ashleigh: (Ash simply disappears in a flash of blue light--and a small amount of steam--as the thing lunges at her, reappearing behind it.) Y’know, I can tell you’re a fucking idiot, otherwise you’d know I’m not wanted anywhere else. How’s this for you? (Pumping her fist, another gnarled root structure appears in the center of the makeshift arena--this one spewing forth cold air and a periodic wave of frost.)
  204. Kinam: (screeching as he begins scraping his legs against his thorax covering the ground with black hairs that quickly grow into tentacles)
  205. (The Black Bees begin to descend into the parking lot, as the insane chattering of infected Templar begin to grow louder. In in the distance a Green and red light seem to be growing brighter)
  206. Connar: 45 seconds, Flynns on his way with the first half of the weapon.
  207. Ashleigh: Awesome great, ahh… the floor’s rising up against me. That’s bad, that’s, uhm, really bad. I can’t fly… ahh, fuck it. (Jumping backwards again, this time in an effort not to be grabbed by any tentacles, she starts screaming at the spider in front of her.) I am the god of hellfire… (Disappearing into a blue light again, she reappears in the air above where she was, arms outstretched to her sides, covered in flames.) And I bring you… (Bringing her arms in front of her, she lets out a great gout of flame, aimed squarely at the spider. It doesn’t stop her falling back to the ground, but it does seem to slow her slightly.)
  208. Kinam: (curling up into a ball as the flame hits it, there is a flash of white light as the anima in the area is temporally driven back.)
  209. (The black bees, have begun to descend on to the fire that was blocking off the parking lot, the sound of templar running down the streets seems to grow louder, until their chatering is broken by gunfire. On the roof top the volunteer militia have begun sniping the incoming Templar and trying push Kinam back into the parking lot. Across the street what looks like a small man in a wheel chair has sped into the parking lot.)
  210. Flynn: Herd you could use some help.
  211. Connar: (seeming to materialize from nowhere, Connar appears next to the wheelchair with what appears to be a bundle of glass tubes, which he begins connecting to a third age style box on the back of the chair.
  212. Flynn: You owe me a new chair lad, the HSE is not going to pay for this one.
  213. Connar: Everyone next to me, we are only going to have about 10 seconds.
  214. Kinam: (Turning his attention to Connar he charges one more time only to have his front leg cut off before being thrown in front of Ash.)
  215. Ashleigh: (Ash staggers as she hits the ground, the smell of burning flesh becoming quite noticeable now… although it’s not clear whether it’s from her or it.) Great, what do we do?
  216. Connar: (clicking a red button on top of the tubes, before hitting another on his wrists) hold on,
  217. (Flynn, Connar and Ash dematerialize and rematerialize 500 meters away as a flash of orange light consumes both the parking lot and the long hall. One last ear piercing screech comes from the light as the black bees seem to evaporate and the remaining Templar fall to the ground as if whatever force had possessed them was now gone.)
  218. Templar Squad leader: New order from the grand masters, we are to return to base immediately. The mission has exceeded its casualty parameter, we are abandoning the opera….(static cuts through the transmission as the static is broken by more chuckling)
  219. Jon: That was fun chuck, I see why Jon likes or rather why he like people like you, that was you with the bomb in Tokyo wasn't it chuck?
  220. Ashleigh: Nope… but for the grace of god, it would’ve been… (She raises the visor to look at Connar, smiling faintly and covered in sweat.) We done?
  221. Connar: Aye, you are done. I still have to explain to the villagers everything that has happened and then go to the EU for reconstruction funds, but those are all little inconveniences. My home is safe for now, everyone will be able to return and we will all see the sun rise, and we couldn’t have done it without you ash. If you should ever need a place to stay, Greenfield will always have spot for you.
  222. Ashleigh: Awesome… sorry about the fires. (She then falls to her side, to the ground, her body--and suit--hissing audibly.) I’m just gonna lay here a while.
