Hello Tristan. Before you go into the navy, as I mentioned to you yesterday in the car ride home from my graduation, I would enjoy it if we could go on a road trip to the other side of the buckeye state. The side you and I don't go to much and hence have not seen much of, the Lake Erie side. We are on the Ohio River side right now. If we are going to do this we are going to have to plan this thoroughly and to the greatest detail, but we can do this if you want. When do you start training for the navy? Obviously it will have to be before then. The Lake Erie side of Ohio has a lot of fun stuff to do like the Toledo Zoo, Cedar Point, Marblehead Peninsula, the city of Cleveland, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. Obviously we are not going to be able to do all these. It would be awesome if we could, but there is too much stuff in too little time. I have already been to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the city of Cleveland. The main # 1 thing on this list is Cedar Point, as I understand we agreed on. It is similar to Kings Island, but is rumored to have much more rides and have much better more thrilling rides. So I guess we have been to the 2nd best amusement park in Ohio and now this would be the best amusement in Ohio. Cedar Point supposedly in terms of rides is one of the best amusement parks in the country. I have heard that in terms of rides it is better than Disney World in Orlando. Not all the stuff mentioned on this list is stuff that we talked about in the car yesterday. This would be one last hurrah before you go off into the services. Tristan, what days work for you for this? We need like 2 or 3 free days in a row. Don't you think it would only be fair to invite Byron and Bryce too? I know that amusement parks are expensive but they like rides too as you told me on Sunday.

To this you must respond!!!!! It is Mandatory, not optional !!!!!!! For the sake of saving money we cannot spend the night at a rest area because my parents are not okay with it. My mom gave me an adamant no to sleeping in the car at a public rest area and my dad thinks that if you spend the night at a rest area you are breaking the law and the police will expel you from the rest area, regardless of whether you are in your car or in your own personal set up tent. This is intended to be both my graduation and birthday present for me. Originally I was going to have one trip for my birthday present and one trip for my graduation present, for a total of two trips. However my parents told me that if this includes Bryce and Byron,  which my parents are willing to do, then this will be my graduation AND birthday present trip, one large trip for both my birthday and graduation. I am content with this being my graduation AND birthday present and so are my parents. My parents are inviting Bryce and Byron to come along of which they will pay for wherever we chose to stay and our admission to the park. They will NOT pay for our meals, we have to cover that ourselves. I do not believe that they will pay for my gas, so I will have to pay for that as well. My parents have always payed for that ever since I got my car, but it seems as though that will not happen this time.

On to the extremely pertinent information. There are several places to stay in Sandusky, because it is a tourism town. Some of those places, such as the Kalahari Resort, are extremely expensive and as a result we will not stay at those places. There are cheaper hotels like Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn of which my parents are willing to pay for us to spend 2 ish nights. Or we could spend the night at a campground. The campgrounds are like $40 per night and the mid range hotels i.e. Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn are probably $120 per night. Due to the fact that this is BOTH my birthday AND graduation present my parents are willing to pay for Byron and Bryce. Byron and Bryce do not have to be selfless so as to exclude themselves from the trip. That is extremely kind and selfless of them, but it is not necessary. I believe this would be more fun if Bryce and Byron came as well, and it is okay in this case if Byron and Bryce come too. I understand money is tight. Just for the sake of saying it, we are travelling to the wrong place if we wish to save money. Sandusky, even though it is small, since it is very touristy because of Lake Erie and Cedar Point and the Kalahari Resort is very expensive. It is mostly very expensive because of Cedar Point.

But the million dollar question is, Would you like to stay in a hotel of which will cost approximately $120 per night or a campground of which will cost $40 per night, 1/3rd the cost? My parents are willing to pay for one room at a mid range hotel e.g. Holiday Inn etc. Below is a link to the campground in Sandusky if it so pleases you to check it out. It is not optional of whether or not to respond to this! Tristan. Thank you sooooooo much for writing back. Also thank you for helping me understand what it is that is the hold up. I completely understand the issue. I believe, and feel free to disagree, that the best thing to do now is to have an in person conversation between my mom and dad and your mom. Not via the phone. Not via email. In person. That is the fastest and best way to get this accomplished. I think that a face to face in person conversation is absolutely necessary. My parents would like to talk to your mother by phone so that this issue can be solved. What time is a good time to call? Thank you and I apologize if I have stressed you or your family out. Due to the fact that none of us are 21 there are some hotels that will not allow us to stay. Some hotels will allow us to stay and some won't. Because of this we might have to camp. How do you and your brothers feel about camping? There are several, not just one, camp sights close to Cedar Point. Camp Sandusky, the one I sent you the link for, is the closest and probably the nicest. There are others though. What do you three want to do, camp or hotel? I am content with both.

Again I do need you to respond. This is not intended to be stressful. Just respond at whatever time works best for you buddy.

Camping is fine with me. The thing is some hotel chains say you must be 21 to stay without a parent and others say 18. The next step now Tristan is to find the camping site we wish to stay at and then call them to make sure Bryce can stay there, since he is still a legal minor, even though he acts like a mature adult.

I just got off the phone with Camp Sandusky. They said that it is okay if you are Bryce's chaperone/guardian. So Bryce can come. However anything Bryce does you are responsible for. If Bryce breaks any rules you get in trouble, not him. If Bryce does anything wrong you pay the price not him. You are Bryce's legal guardian from July 27th-July 30th. I just want you to understand. Make sure Bryce understands too. You are legally responsible for Bryce! Alright that is it.

I am currently planning the trip on my iPod touch. We have all the days planned and all the things to take special note of. Right now I am in the mist of planning the most important part, the money. The only money that you guys need to bring is money to pay for your food and drinks. I will pay for my food. My dad will pay for our admission to Cedar Point on both days, parking fees, gasoline, and the campground. We will probably have to pay for our admission to the Toledo Zoo. If I were you I would do some research to see if there is anything in Ottawa or Erie Counties in Ohio that you, Bryce, or Byron would like to do. This is just a suggestion, but this way what you guys want to do can be incorporated into the plan. Please note when you start doing your research you will come across the Lake Erie Islands in Ottawa County(South Bass Island/Put-in Bay, Middle Bass Island, Kelleys Island, Johnson's Island etc) we are not going to those islands because we do not have the time or money. We don't have the money to pay for the ferry ride nor do we have the time to spend on the Islands. As I understand it from my research, we will be able to see those islands from Marblehead Lighthouse State Park in Marblehead Ohio. But please respond to this email with suggestions of what you wish to do as long as those suggestions are in the same physical area as the other things we will be doing. I do not just want this to be Keith's vacation, I want this to be Keith, Bryce, Tristan, and Byron's vacation. If one person is dissatisfied with the trip then I have not met my goal. Talk to your brothers about what they wish to do and then respond to this message with what ideas you guys come up with. Okay thank you.
