  25. Profile: Daisy is a somewhat reckless, firey woman. A veteran of a long career of millitary service to the Innocent, now an ieterant Vulture-for-hire, her greatest passions in life are the thrill of battle and her partner Cassidy. 31. 4. History
  32.
  33. Born a surly and combative in the harsh Amerian wastes, Daisy McMillan knew from an early age that she had to move beyond the meager existence eked out by her parents' small and fitful farm, and snatched the first opportunity that presented itself to leave her village behind. A band of mercenaries passed through her town in between battles, and Daisy, sixteen and with limited skills but a lot of pluck, begged to be allowed to sign on. The captain of the band agreed and, despite the fact that that was likely to end badly, thus began a long and distinguished career as a mercenary, in indefinite service to the Innocent. Not unusually fond of the Innocent or their Plan, she instead fell in love with the comradery between siblings in arms and in the thrill of battle. Although Daisy was not particularly tactically brilliant and sometimes chafed at following orders, she was a naturally talented pilot, with consistently impeccable morale and uncanny luck, eventually rising to a fairly lofty rank within her company.
  34.
  35. Then her luck ran out. During a particularly fierce battle against the Spiral Empire, Daisy's talent failed her, and her mecha was blown to bits. She was left for dead in its wreck, until a team of Vulture scavengers discovered her, having held on to life for days through sheer tenacity. Whether out pity, curiosity, or a desire for more warm bodies with mecha skills, they took her to a Vulture bonesaw who patched her up as well as he could. She was left with disfiguring scarring along the left side of her body, with permanent damage to her left eye and the nerves of her left arm. Instead of picking through the wastes in search of her old company, she stayed with the Vulture band that had rescued her, cooking and doing odd jobs and coming to know their customs and culture. In doing so, she fell in love again. The same sense of comradery, but nobody barking orders, no rules to follow-- just people, struggling and surviving and thriving in the wastes together. Over the span of a few months, she managed to barter her way into the seat of a mecha again, controls customized to support the slow and shaky movements of her injured arm. She returned to her passion of smashing apart enemies for money. It was during such a raid that she met Cassidy Dalton, took an interest in her, and took her back to the Vultures, and the two have been roaming the wastes, still fighting mecha and doing odd jobs ever since.
  36.
  37. 5. Personality
  38.
  39. Daisy is not a tremendously complicated person. A true Civilian, she solves problems by threatening them, shouting at them, or punching them, either literally or metaphorically. The directionless anger of her earliest years has subsided some with age, but the wanderlust remains, and even within a band of people she feels a true kinship with she still refuses to stay in one place or one community for long. She was a very self-contained and somewhat lonely person prior to meeting Cassidy, and a lot of those patterns remain. She seldom speaks about her feelings. Her experience with chains of command have strengthened her natural sense of rebellion against authority, and she is loathe to be under any control stronger or more formal than that of owing favors. She's loud and reckless and somewhat brash, a double-edged sword-- she loves and hates with the same fire and force, and once someone has her loyalty it is impossible to lose.
  40.
  41. 6. Faction
  42.
  43. Daisy has fallen head over heals for the Vultures, or at least a somewhat romanticized notion of it. She loves not having to take orders or follow rules, she loves knowing that people have her back in a pinch, and she, perhaps, loves the ability to steal from the haves and trickle down to the have-nots.
  44.
  45. The most likely problem she'd have with the Vultures is that not everything they do is good. For all the Robin Hoods and good ol' folk in the association, there's an equal number of bandits who would take from those who have nothing and who, in her eyes, are nothing better than the questionably-tyrannical governments she spurns. Worse, the cultural norms of the Vultures mean that she might well end up being forced to partake in some of these tyrannical practices. To avoid this, she tries very hard to avoid owing favors to anyone who might abuse them, and if put in a position to do so could well renege on her deal or double-cross the person she owes the favor to behind their back, but both of these have costs and consequences.
  46.
  47. What faction is your character affiliated with? Why are they in it, or in the case of being Unaffiliated, why aren't they in one? Describe in detail what your character thinks about the ideology of their faction, and how their own personality meshes with it. Finally, think of any potential problems they might have with their faction or the people in it, and name at least two solutions to these problems that are reasonable for them to take.
  48.
  49.
  50. 7. Powers, Skills, Assets
  51. What powers, skills, and assets does your character have? Being a "Mecha Pilot" is assumed so you don't need to put that here, but what else do they bring to the table? Did you sell your soul for power, or do you have useful skills? A base of operations, or great wealth? Maybe a team of NPCs to repair and rearm your robot? We'd love to know! These are subdivided below, and will be placed in info files that only you and staff will be able to access. Please note, this is NOT the Combat section - nothing here should directly and mechanically apply to a fight - we're looking for narrative abilities. Additionally, try to keep it simple, unless something warrants thorough explaining. Erase the examples when filling in the next three fields.
  52.
  53. Post-approval, please understand that staff may add, remove, or modify these entries to accurately reflect what you have.
  54.
  55. 7a. Powers
  56. Racial traits, supernatural abilities, etc. For example, having gills or wings from being a beastman, or having received a Geass power.
  57.
  58. Civilian Paragon: Daisy is even tougher and even more direct than you'd expect a Civilian to be, embodying the Civilian characteristics of direct approaches to problems and resistance to physical hardships to a degree that is very faintly supernatural.
  59.
  60. 7b. Skills
  61. Learned talents. For example, being a surgeon, or an artist.
  62.
  63. Innocent Culture: Daisy was high enough in the ranks of her former company that she has a very faint trace of Innocent culture and education in her background, notably giving her the ability to read and write.
  64.
  65. Chain of Command: Much as she loathes it, Daisy has a good deal of experience with relaying and obeying orders, as well as a stammering of tactical skills.
  66.
  67. A Mean Omelette: During her mechaless time with the Vultures, the only odd job she was any particular good at was cooking. She is fairly skilled at producing palatable meals from culinary odds and ends, although her solution is often "Deep fry it" or similar.
  68.
  69.
  70. 7c. Assets
  71. Material possessions beyond the norm. Owning a major business, being filthy rich, having access to soldiers, repair crews, assorted NPCs, etc.
  72.
  73. Mercenary Past: Daisy never burned any bridges from her mercenary years, and although her Innocent employers would not be pleased with her habit of occasionally raiding them, she could call on old employers or comrades in a pinch.
  74.
  75.
  76. 8. Combat
  77. In this section, please explain how your character goes about piloting their mecha, as well as any personal mecha they have. (See 8a)
  78.
  79. 8a. Pilot-Explain
  80.
  81. Daisy moves fast and breaks things. Her mecha may have a gun, but she's liable to forgo it in favor of running in and punching hard. She prefers mechas that can take a hit over faster, less armored mechas, and generally speaking excells in taking up space and smashing anything she can get her hands on. She's not a terrible shot, her melee predilection a matter of taste more than anything else, but her physical disability does limit her reaction times, making her poorly suited for faster mecha and faster foes.
  82.
  83.
  84. Please explain how your pilot goes about piloting. Do they have a focus? Any flaws? Specialties? Be as brief or as detailed as you like, but be sure to cover the how and why of your style so that staff can handle building them - unless you'd like to do it yourself! In that case, justify your desires to us in detail.

  116. SHERIFF
  117.
  118. SHERIFF is a faintly ridiculous Armored Core "upgraded" with a star-shaped badge welded to its chest and a stylized revolver that fires explosive rounds. After liberating it from its previous owner, Daisy kept the theme but upgraded it a second time with her characteristically lopsided controls and crude pneumatic knuckle dusters on an oversized and overpowered right arm. A custom piece of work, it takes after the pilot it was customized for, being slow, heavily armored, and favoring melee over ranged attacks.
  119.
  120. DEPUTY
  121.
  122. DEPUTY is a sleaker, newer rendition of SHERIFF, traditionally piloted by Daisy's partner Cass. It lacks most of Daisy's custom alterations, looking much like SHERIFF did the day Daisy stole it. It is equipped with the same stylized revolver and star badge, but has matching arms and trades armor for mobility. The one piece of custom equipment currently installed is an arm-mounted launcher which fires a weighted lasso made from superstrong cable, useful for keeping mechas mostly intact while still disabling them.
