  1. After being informed of Kuhn's quest to explore one of his people's outposts, the duty to create a potion for his compatriots Chieftain Mital and Old Blind Epsilon was undertaken so they could breathe underwater.
  2.
  3. Sugarboy was never formally taught alchemy, no, he learned through trial and error, throwing random shit into a cauldron and stirring it before taking a sip. He eventually found out there were recipe books, and worked from those. So after nearly two decades now, he was going back to his roots of experimentational alchemy, except this time he was equipped with intimate knowledge of each reagent's properties.
  4.
  5. Water breathing.. So water and wind crystals would be the key to this recipe, but how many? Both crystals were used in invisibility potions, but it was a two-two to five ratio, the five being the luminite which granted the drinker transparency. "Let's start with that.. two and two.. Now I need a bonding agent.. and perhaps an accelerant." He'd mutter aloud to himself as he set the crystals onto his desk.
  6.
  7. Glowing mushrooms were the best accelerant, no doubt.. Leaving the question of what to use for a bonding agent? Poppylus, sugarcap mushrooms, and sludge were the most common. The blonde was tempted to use the sludge, it was viscous enough it'd be able to bond well with the crystals.. However, the recipe started to look like a cross between an invisibility potion, and a genderswap.. Oh fuck it, what's the worst that could happen.
  8.
  9. A snap of his fingers and the cauldron beneath would ignite from his fire magic, and he'd begin filling it with water. Three parts sludge, stirred until it came to a boil. Three glowing mushrooms finely minced and added until it dissolved. It was a greyish green consistency that began bubbling, now was the time for the crystals. Luckily water and wind crystals weren't as volatile as fire crystals, so explosions were the least of his concern.
  10.
  11. He dropped the crystals into the cauldron and would grind them up against the side of it with a large spoon and continued stirring until it took a greenish-teal color. It looked done, he'd wait for it to cool before pouring it into a vial. The was only one way to find out. The alchemist raised the glass in the air, a solo toast. "Um, to partying with mermaids, I guess" Bottoms up and he drank the potion, waiting for it to take effect.

  13.
  14. Sugarboy rolled a dice and it landed on: 4
  15.
  16. He felt a marginal tingling sensation and his breathing became somewhat more difficult. He'd conjure a ball of water around his head and would take the leap of faith to inhale.
  17.
  18. It didn't work, but he wasn't drowning either The closest thing he could compare it to was as if he was breathing through a tiny straw. It was a step in the right direction.
  19.
  20. Next time he'd use less sludge, perhaps it diluted the mixture too much. He'd evaporate the water and would sit in his chair until his breathing returned to him.
