  8. Story Mode is pretty awesome. Speedrunnable with some routing (a lot of autoscrollers)

  10. You can now have vertical levels (but only in the sub area) - Vertical screens can now be 12 screens tall and 2 high (basically rotating the maximum default horizontal width 90 degrees)

  12. You can play as one of four characters in Endless mode (Mario, Luigi, Toad and Toadette... wheres Peach?)

  14. Endless mode is a great addition, definitely promotes that goal to build a high number of clears for better ranking, personal goals, and just to keep going until you lose all lives.

  16. The night variants of all the modes is pretty great, reduced gravity, ice, wind effects.

  18. Camera lock is possible now to prevent seeing future parts of the stage... great for segmented type levels... just draw a line of blocks the entire height of the editor screen and it's done... (or width for vertical levels)

  20. Some of the new screen effects (scary synth hit, ninjas) are really awesome.

  22. The lava looks deliciously deadful and visually stunning in all modes now... especially 3DWorld

  26. Detailed search is fantastic, allowing you to do a fine tuned search of levels you want to play, such as by theme, tag, region, etc...

  36. Online Play is Garbage in its current state - LAG LAG, Framerate is horrific at times... not really playable. In match play, apparently you can lose ranking if your connection disconnects...

  38. Yeah, no Online Play yet with friends; Nintendo says its coming as an update, we just don't know when.

Can no longer download another person's level and look around in it to find stuff, figure out how to clear a level you may have been stumped on or learn design tech. i guess the logic is to prevent people from downloading, rebuilding it, and uploading a duplicate but, eh... if they have that much time, more power to them...

  42. Removing 100-Mario seemed unneeded. Endless mode would be a great ADDITIONAL way to play the game and 100-Mario seemed nice when you want a default goal; beat x number of levels and win.

  44. Apparently no bookmark website as existed in SMM1 as of yet - No way to easily give a link to your stuff, bookmark it. Plus puts the SMM2 design for Warp World at a standstill and for people like me that had a cool app developed for people to submit levels for queue/viewer level streams.

  46. Timing for some of the things like mid-air spring jumps seems different.

  48. SMW has removed the ability to regrab items during a spin jump. That's gonna remove a lot of tech abilities from designers to carry items across objects of any distance.

  58. If you decide to make levels via the controller, it maytake a while to get use to that.... By far easier and more natural to use the gamepad and stylus to easily drag and drop stuff.... trying to learn what button on the controller does what in the editor when it's so feature rich is a little overwhelming. I miss this tremendously about the WiiU..... gonna be really interesting if you are a streamer and you want to have your audience watch you design levels, you'll have to figure out that controller

  60. If nintendo gaves us a solution to be able to send video to our tv/capture cards WHILE still being able to play the game in handheld mode, this would make a multitude of people happy (yeah, basically how the WiiU worked)

  66. It'd be nice to be able to download MULTIPLE levels at once so you can have say a "level pack" to play on the go when you have no connection. Say, download 100 expert levels, or 100 3D World levels, etc. Currently You can only download one level at a time.
