[11:11pm] GMOwen: Narrator:  We join Team Iris, now in Vermilion City.  The air in this peninsula city is fresh and moist, and the presence of sailors and freighters nearby gives the city a distinctive feel.
[11:13pm] GMOwen: Current active Pokemon are:  Misdreavus, Gardevoir, Ditto, Haunter, and Froslass.
[11:14pm] • [Owen]Iris wears an apathetic scowl on her face.  She just wants this over quickly.  Plenty of bad memories here...
[11:15pm] • MissD grins as she pulls some jokes on some unsuspecting pokemaids, skirt fluttering~
[11:16pm] • Kovacs idly floats around, apparently not in the mood for doing much. So bright...
[11:16pm] • Sublimia glances up at the sun, sweat beading slightly on her brow.
[11:17pm] MissD: <So many people~ So little time to pull pranks~>
[11:17pm] • [9]Doudan sticks close to the feet of anybody who has feet.
[11:17pm] • [D]Sara looks around, curiosity pulling her eyes hither and thither. o O ( What is that...? )
[11:18pm] • [9]Doudan o O (I hate this place... The port is so big, it looks like a giant Tentacruel could come out of the water and start smashing things... No way that could happen though, right?)
[11:18pm] • [Owen]Iris waves her hand through Miss D. playfully.
[11:18pm] [Owen]Iris: "Keep me company when you go to prison, aye?"
[11:19pm] • MissD nods happily and smiles at Iris.
[11:19pm] • Sublimia sticks to walking in Iris' shadow.
[11:20pm] • [D]Sara muses, half speaking to herself, half questioning.
[11:20pm] [D]Sara: <Is this issue really that severe?>
[11:20pm] • [Owen]Iris double-checks the translator, and shrugs.
[11:21pm] [Owen]Iris: "Hell if I know, I'm just doin' what the bossman said."
[11:21pm] • Kovacs looks around and resets her glasses on her nose. Hm... things don't change much around here...
[11:22pm] Sublimia: <What was the issue?>
[11:22pm] • [9]Doudan spots something mildly interesting.
[11:23pm] [9]Doudan: <Oh, that man still hasn't even started on his building. How long has it been...?>
[11:23pm] • [D]Sara frowns just a little bit.
[11:23pm] [D]Sara: <Laws; limitation on our number.>
[11:23pm] [Owen]Iris: "Looks just like it did ten years ago, don't it Kovac?"
[11:23pm] • [Owen]Iris comments, ignoring her translator.
[11:23pm] MissD: <Oh... Sublimia~ You're here today~?>
[11:24pm] Kovacs: <Yup, just the same. I'm still not used to the light, though...>
[11:25pm] MissD: <It is bright but totally not bad y'know?.... >
[11:25pm] Sublimia: <These human issues are boring...>
[11:26pm] [D]Sara: <Not so much boring, I'd say, as confounding...>
[11:26pm] • MissD floats down to Sublimia and hugs her.

[11:26pm] • [BNS]Komacho shakes and fusses around in her Pokeball, getting restless

[11:27pm] • [Owen]Iris opts to just eavesdrop on her girls' conversation for now.  She's not in a talking mood exactly.

[11:28pm] • [D]Sara sighs, looking up into the sky above.
[11:29pm] [Owen]Iris: "Anyways, here we'all are.  This'll prolly be boring and a damn waste of time.  Anybody want back inside?"
[11:30pm] • [Owen]Iris palms a few Pokeballs, swiveling them in her hands.
[11:30pm] Sublimia: <Though, you do feel cool. I'll allow it.>
[11:30pm] MissD: <hmm~ You too~>
[11:30pm] Sublimia: <You're not mostly ice. This heat is terrible.>
[11:31pm] MissD: <Hehehehe~>
[11:31pm] • [D]Sara just looks at Iris. That should be an answer enough.
[11:31pm] [Owen]Iris: "No?  Kay, cool.  Behave, or... somethin', I guess."
[11:31pm] • [9]Doudan shakes her head, then starts to fiddle with one of her ponytails.
[11:35pm] [9]Doudan: <...Human problems are so weird.>
[11:35pm] [Owen]Iris: "Shit, girl, you don't know the half of it..."
[11:35pm] • Kovacs does a little pirouette, seemingly just trying to amuse herself.
[11:36pm] • [Owen]Iris grumpily pushes her way into the courtroom.  The inside is official and serene.  Her Pokemon are probably less than that.
[11:36pm] • MissD licks Sublimia.
[11:36pm] MissD: <Wahh..~>
[11:37pm] Sublimia: <Please don't.>
[11:37pm] • [D]Sara remains serene, though she does mutter under her breath.
[11:37pm] [D]Sara: <I wonder where that line lies...?>
[11:38pm] • [9]Doudan stares at shiny furniture, with her mouth partially open.
[11:38pm] • [Owen]Iris strolls her way to the front desk, leaning on it nonchalantly.
[11:39pm] • Kovacs moves up besides Iris, straightening her glasses and doing her best to look official.
[11:39pm] • Sublimia visibly relaxes upon entering the cooler courtroom.
[11:39pm] MissD: <Wahh.. itch.. shhtucck!>
[11:39pm] Sublimia: <That's what you get...>
[11:39pm] [Owen]Iris: "Hey.  Gotta call about something or other?  Iris Blanche?"
[11:39pm] • [Owen]Iris asks the female guard on duty.
[11:40pm] [GM]Guard: "Oh?  Just a moment, I think I remember that name..."
[11:40pm] GMOwen: Note:  The guard shuffles through a scrawled pile of phone messages.
[11:40pm] • [D]Sara stands on the opposite side of Kovacs, remaining similarly under control.
[11:41pm] • Sublimia tries to pull MissD off her.
[11:41pm] • MissD starts yanking on Sublimia's skin.. ummmfff!
[11:41pm] • [9]Doudan decides to hide behind Sara's feet, making herself small.
[11:42pm] • [Owen]Iris focuses on her team for the moment to pass the time.  Isn't it nice when they all get along~?
[11:42pm] • MissD is yanked off, letting out a curdling scream, befitting of her nature.
[11:42pm] MissD: <Yahhh!!!!!>
[11:42pm] • [Owen]Iris winces out of reflex, even though she's used to such a sound by now.
[11:42pm] Sublimia: <Wah.>
[11:42pm] • Sublimia topples over.
[11:43pm] GMOwen: Note:  The rest of the lobby's inhabitants wince rather worse.  Little MIss D is the focus on many eyes, now.
[11:43pm] • [BNS]Komacho finally manages to pop out of her Pokeball, appearing in a flash.
[11:43pm] [BNS]Komacho: <KOMACHO TO RESCUE! Who is in trouble?!>
[11:43pm] • [D]Sara flinches at the scream, then taking note of the stares and returning her own.
[11:44pm] [GM]Guard: "Oh, for the love of-!  Miss, please get a better hold on your Pokemon!"
[11:44pm] • [BNS]Komacho looks around, confused
[11:44pm] Sublimia: <An idiot's appeared~>
[11:44pm] • MissD whimpers in pain.. ahh.. ow ow ow ow..
[11:44pm] MissD: <it hurt.s.. alot.. ;_;>
[11:44pm] Sublimia: <You should know not to lick cold things. Your tongue will freeze.>
[11:44pm] • [D]Sara gives a complimentary stare to Komacho, followed by a tidbit of advice:
[11:45pm] [D]Sara: <None, now, except for Iris.>
[11:45pm] • Kovacs moves down to put Sublimia back on her feet before attending to Miss D. Nothing she can do, so she just pets her head and makes a funny face before floating back to her previous position.
[11:46pm] MissD: < Oooooh..... hurts.. so much...>
[11:46pm] • [D]Sara refocuses on the guard, attempting to bridge the language barrier with yet another hard glare. She appears a bit unamused.
[11:47pm] • GMOwen: Note: The guard massages her ears and finds the right note.
[11:47pm] GMOwen: Guard:  "Ahh, here, here, you're looking for Room 141.  He'll tell you what you need to know."
[11:48pm] • [Owen]Iris gives the guard a thumbs-up and moseys along as usual.  She ignores the stares of the people around her, because it makes no difference.
[11:48pm] Sublimia: <You're fine, MissD, stop crying about it.>
[11:50pm] • MissD then clings on to Sublimia again.. weee~
[11:50pm] Sublimia: <"Once bitten, twice shy" means nothing to you, does it...>
[11:50pm] • [D]Sara finally gives up on returning stares, as it seems to be communicating nothing. o O ( hmm... I wonder if they could make some sort of translator for us? )
[11:51pm] • [BNS]Komacho follows along, quite sullen now that she realizes where they currently are...
[11:56pm] GMOwen: Narrator:  Room 141 turns out to be the office of a Child Services director, not unlike the one of Boss Tim.  A suitcoated man sits behind a neat desk, but the focus of his attention is a middle-aged boy sitting against the wall.  The boy looks like he's in middle school, in a sharp black uniform himself.  He's appears rather meek.
[12:00am] • [D]Sara 's interest is piqued. o O ( This isn't what I expected...? ) She looks at the boy, inspecting him, and trying to determine what he has to do with Iris...
[12:00am] • Sublimia observes cooly.
[12:01am] • [9]Doudan glances quickle from the boy to the man, and then to Iris.
[12:01am] • [Owen]Iris looks at the boy.  Boring.  She looks at the man.  More boring.
[12:01am] • Kovacs , before entering the room, puts her hand through the wall and taps the boy's shoulder.
[12:01am] GMOwen: Note: The boy jumps up silently, looking for a tapping hand.  He sees nothing...
[12:02am] MissD: <oooh... a new trainer?>..
[12:02am] • MissD lets go of Sumblimia and approaches this fellow with great curiousity.
[12:02am] [D]Sara: <I'm not sure...>
[12:02am] GMOwen: Note:  The boy says nothing; he's very nervous.  So many new faces so close to him...
[12:04am] • [9]Doudan looks back to the boy, blinks, then gives a small wave.
[12:04am] GMOwen: Note:  He doesn't wave back.  He huddles up a little more and looks into his lap.
[12:05am] • [9]Doudan stares at him for a couple more seconds before turning her attention back to Iris.
[12:05am] Kovacs: <...Strange. Why's he nervous?>
[12:05am] • [GM]CS_Director stands up from his chair.
[12:05am] Sublimia: <We probably scare him~>
[12:05am] • Kovacs floats over to the boy and makes a few faces at him. He can't be that cold, can he?
[12:05am] • [D]Sara 's eyebrows soften a bit, and she makes a small hand motion of her own to try and get evreyone to focus on the matter at hand rather than this boy, at least for the now.
[12:06am] GMOwen: Note:  The boy REALLY doesn't want anything to do with all these nosy people.  He whimpers slightly and huddles even more.
[12:05am] [GM]CS_Director: "Ahh, Ms. Blanche.  We finally managed to reach you.  I was getting worried."
[12:06am] MissD: <Hello~>
[12:06am] • MissD greets this person with a warm shrill of sorts.
[12:06am] [D]Sara: <I imagine we should stop doing that about now, mm? MissD, Kovacs?>
[12:06am] MissD: <Try and stop me Sara. Hmph.>
[12:07am] • [D]Sara 's tone becomes a tad more harsh.
[12:07am] [D]Sara: <He isn't taking well to us right now; it'd be best to back off.>
[12:07am] • [BNS]Komacho notices the candy dish on the Director's desk and inches up to grab a piece
[12:07am] • [BNS]Komacho grabs the entire dish and hurries over to the kid.
[12:07am] • [Owen]Iris shrugs.
[12:07am] [Owen]Iris: "What's this all about, eh?  I'm a busy woman."
[12:07am] • [BNS]Komacho eats a few pieces before offering to share with him
[12:07am] • [GM]CS_Director raises his eyebrow at the Machop, but keeps his focus in Iris.
[12:08am] • [D]Sara tries to keep an eye on Kovacs, the "Director", and the kid all at once.
[12:08am] GMOwen: Note:  The boy doesn't want any candy.  You can hear him faintly say, "N-No... no, thank you."
[12:09am] • [BNS]Komacho sits and continues to eat the candy, listening to the conversation
[12:09am] [9]Doudan: <I wonder if it's just us that scares him?>
[12:09am] • [D]Sara 's worry grows. o O ( What happened to him...? )
[12:09am] [BNS]Komacho: <He is silly kid. He doesn't like candy.>
[12:09am] • Sublimia keeps her distance, smiling faintly as she watches.
[12:10am] MissD: <Nah.. i'm not even trying to scare him this time around.. he's already scared~>
[12:10am] [D]Sara: <Let's just all leave him alone for now; maybe we'll learn just what it is that has if we do.>
[12:10am] • Kovacs swipes some of the candy for herself and eats it as she watches the kid some more.
[12:11am] [GM]CS_Director: "Ahh, patience, patience, Ms. Blanche.  This isn't something we need to rush."
[12:11am] [GM]CS_Director: "Do you know this boy?"
[12:11am] • [GM]CS_Director motions to the boy with his head.
[12:12am] • [D]Sara 's focus changes to the conversation between Iris and this suited man, though she keeps an eye on the kid.
[12:12am] • [Owen]Iris takes a better look at the kid.  Hmmm... maybe...?  No, not really.
[12:12am] [Owen]Iris: "Nope.  Looks like a boy to me."
[12:13am] • [GM]CS_Director smiles, but keeps on the matter at hand.
[12:14am] [GM]CS_Director: "His name is Cole Blanche, ma'am.  He's your cousin."
[12:14am] • [Owen]Iris narrows her eyes skeptically.
[12:15am] [Owen]Iris: "Oooo... kay?"
[12:15am] • [D]Sara is taken by surprise. She looks at the kid and back to Iris, comparing the two...
[12:15am] • MissD eyes go wide..
[12:15am] MissD: <Whaa?... No way~>
[12:15am] • [9]Doudan doesn't seem that shocked, and starts to pick at the things on the carpet.
[12:15am] [Owen]Iris: "My folks never really liked the family reunions.  Guess I missed 'im."
[12:16am] [GM]CS_Director: "Oh?  That's a shame to hear."
[12:16am] • Kovacs resets her glasses, apparently analyzing him closely.
[12:18am] [GM]CS_Director: "I any case, I must inform you of a rather... unfortunate event.  You see, this boy's parents were... in a boating accident as they were vacationing on Cinnabar.  I'm afraid they, didn't make it."
[12:19am] [GM]CS_Director: "Miraculously, he survived despite being on the same boat.  And we're all very thankful for that."
[12:19am] • [GM]CS_Director pulls at his tie a little.
[12:19am] MissD: ..
[12:20am] [GM]CS_Director: "However, I've run into a problem concerning his, well, his custody, as he's still a minor."
[12:20am] • MissD falls silent.. even as a ghost.. a death is no laughing matter..
[12:20am] [9]Doudan: <...Poor guy.>
[12:20am] • Sublimia watches demurely, smile not fading.
[12:20am] • [Owen]Iris sits down in a not very comfortable chair.
[12:20am] [Owen]Iris: "And?"
[12:21am] [GM]CS_Director: "Well, I've run though your family's records, and it appears that his only living relatives are yourself, and your mother and father.  However..."
[12:22am] • [GM]CS_Director looks downcast.
[12:22am] • [Owen]Iris knows why.
[12:22am] Kovacs: <Oh...>
[12:22am] • [D]Sara is shocked. Her concern grows as she thinks how such a thing would have effected her, and this shows.
[12:22am] • [Owen]Iris does not approve of the idea.
[12:23am] [Owen]Iris: "...Bastard and bitch don't want 'im... do they?"
[12:23am] • [Owen]Iris says very simply.
[12:23am] • [GM]CS_Director scowls, but nods.
[12:24am] [GM]CS_Director: "Though rather tactless of you... yes.  They have refused guardianship outright, rather violently even."
[12:24am] • Kovacs clicks her tongue in annoyance.
[12:25am] • [D]Sara 's eyes dart back to Iris. A hint of anger is added to her already pained expression.
[12:25am] Kovacs: <Those again...>
[12:25am] [D]Sara: <refused?>
[12:25am] • [Owen]Iris makes a little half-smirk, half-scowl.
[12:25am] [Owen]Iris: "...me, right?  You want me?"
[12:26am] • [GM]CS_Director says nothing for the moment.
[12:26am] [Owen]Iris: "Damn it, you DO mean me."
[12:27am] • [Owen]Iris looks definitely annoyed now.
[12:27am] • [D]Sara looks at the boy once more. Her face reflects what surely is some small fraction of his sorrow...
[12:27am] [GM]CS_Director: "I realize this is a great deal to ask, Ms. Blanche."
[12:29am] [Owen]Iris: "You're damn right it's a great fucking deal to ask!"
[12:29am] • [Owen]Iris shouts, standing up in a rage.
[12:31am] • [D]Sara looks back to Iris, grimacing a little. She walks just far enough forward to be able to look her in the face.
[12:32am] [Owen]Iris: "You think I have the time for this shit?!  I might be in Hoenn next week for all I know; I don't have the time to babysit a damn kid!"
[12:32am] • Kovacs whirls over and gently grabs Iris' shoulder, trying to calm her down before she gets more agitated.
[12:33am] • [Owen]Iris reacts to Kovacs' touch, if not as much as might be hoped.
[12:34am] • [D]Sara looks into Iris's eyes, gently critical.
[12:35am] GMOwen: Note:  Cole Blanche reacts somewhat to the discussion, but for the most part still keeps to himself.
[12:35am] • [9]Doudan glances at the boy and frowns slightly.
[12:36am] [D]Sara: <Iris...>
[12:36am] • [GM]CS_Director is somewhat offended by Iris' mouth.
[12:37am] [GM]CS_Director: "Miss Blanche, please calm down; think of your cousin."
[12:37am] Sublimia: <It's fine if you abandon him then, right?>
[12:37am] • Sublimia takes a step forward, speaking up.
[12:37am] • [Owen]Iris has quite ignored her translator for some time now; it's sitting on the chair.
[12:37am] • [D]Sara whirls around, glaring Sublimia down in a small flare of anger.
[12:38am] [D]Sara: <Abandon, you say?>
[12:38am] • Sublimia returns Sara's glare with a completely unconcerned one.
[12:39am] [Owen]Iris: "Well I can't very fucking well think of some kid I haven't even met, now can I?!"
[12:40am] [D]Sara: <Such careless and cruel actions as that only perpetuate the problems that plague us all, to say the least!>
[12:40am] • [BNS]Komacho is quite unnerved by the whole proceeding and sits off to the side with Cole, then blinks in surprise as she realizes that she's eaten all the candy
[12:40am] • [Owen]Iris angrily flops back down onto her chair, realizing that she should probably pick up that translator again.
[12:40am] Sublimia: <Isn't that what she's suggesting?>
[12:40am] • [9]Doudan backs away from Sara, not wanting to be close to the yelling. She sits next to Komacho instead.
[12:40am] • [Owen]Iris flips through the scroll of previous translations, still fuming.
[12:41am] • [BNS]Komacho very carefully creeps back up to the desk and places the dish back in its place before scurrying back over to Cole and Doudan, looking rather upset
[12:41am] • [D]Sara is quite incensed, and this is made clear through every present aspect about her. Before replying, she does take a small pause, however...
[12:41am] GMOwen: Note:  Cole isn't very comfortable having people sit next to him, but he doesn't move away.
[12:42am] MissD: <It seems so.. though.. the child has done nothing wrong..>
[12:42am] Sublimia: <The child has nobody else. I can only imagine how he feels right now...>
[12:42am] • Sublimia chuckles.
[12:42am] [D]Sara: <... It's only natural to be frustrated if the turns of life throw difficulties one wa->
[12:43am] • [D]Sara 's fire turns from ret hot to blue. Her demeanor suspiciously cools...

[12:43am] [GM]CS_Director: "Ms. Blanche, I have heard the exact same thing from both your parents, including that profane mouth or yours."

[12:44am] • Sublimia hides her smile behind her sleeve.
[12:44am] • [Owen]Iris brushes some hair out of her face, staring at the screen.
[12:45am] [GM]CS_Director: "May I ask miss why you keep looking at that device?"
[12:45am] [Owen]Iris: "Translator.  Lets me understand what the girls are saying."
[12:45am] [GM]CS_Director: "Ahh, I see.  Handy."
[12:45am] • [D]Sara 's voice might as well be cool as the froslass herself.
[12:46am] [D]Sara: <... only your laughing at this misfortune.>
[12:46am] Kovacs: <Well, bad as it is he would be much worse off with your parents, Iris.>
[12:46am] • Sublimia merely shakes her head.
[12:47am] [D]Sara: <Sublimia, you enjoy this boy's despair?>
[12:47am] MissD: <Seems you haven't experience a loss yet have you Sublimia..>
[12:47am] Sublimia: <Loss gain, isn't it all the same?~ We're all dead in the long run~>
[12:48am] • [Owen]Iris sighs and stands up, walking over to Cole.  She forces his chin up.
[12:48am] [Owen]Iris: "Hey, you.  Yeah, what am I supposed to do with you?"
[12:49am] [GM]Cole: "Uummm... I, don't really know..."
[12:50am] • [Owen]Iris rolls her eyes painfully.
[12:50am] • [D]Sara notes the boy speaking, and in so doing barely evades escalation on her own part...
[12:51am] [D]Sara: <... so you find no difference between experiences?>
[12:52am] [Owen]Iris: "Yeah... me neither.  Come on, I'll buy you lunch or something."
[12:52am] Sublimia: <Ah, it seems she's warmed up to him.>

[12:53am] • [D]Sara exhales, turning her back to Sublimia.
[12:53am] [GM]CS_Director: "Oh, you'll take care of-"
[12:53am] • [Owen]Iris cuts him off.
[12:53am] [Owen]Iris: "Send the paperwork to my office; I'll deal with it later."
[12:53am] MissD: < You've yet to experience that loss yet Sublimia... that empty void, feeling.. reeking of loneliness..>
[12:54am] Sublimia: <The important thing here is that this child won't have to, right?~>
[12:54am] • [D]Sara relaxes a bit upon hearing those words, though she is still defusing.
[12:54am] • [GM]Cole shakily grabs a leather bag and slings it over his shoulder.
[12:55am] • Kovacs pets Cole's head, doing her best to give a nice smile that looks cordial instead of evil.
[12:56am] [GM]CS_Director: "Ahh, yes, I suppose I can do that.  So... you'll be in touch, then?  Guardianship is a little more than just some paperwork, Ms. Blanche."
[12:56am] • [Owen]Iris shakes her head apathetically.
[12:56am] [Owen]Iris: "...Whatever."
[12:57am] • [D]Sara directs one more glance back at Sublimia before taking a step forward and offering him the best smile she can while still angry.
[12:57am] • MissD clings on to Sunlimia again!~
[12:58am] Sublimia: <You know, you say I've yet to experience it, but I always feel empty~>
[12:58am] GMOwen: Note:  The conversation between the girls continues out in the hallway as they walk.
[12:58am] • [GM]Cole plods along in the back, not wanting to get tangled up into the cloud of Pokemon.

[12:58am] [Owen]Iris: "Eh?  What?"
[12:59am] [D]Sara: <Could I, um...>
[01:00am] • [D]Sara half-reaches for the translator, asking if she could borrow it, just for a moment. In the back of her mind, she files away discussing Sublimia some other time...

[01:00am] • [Owen]Iris hands it to her, but asks:
[01:00am] [Owen]Iris: "Why?"
[01:01am] • Sublimia tries to push MissD off again.
[01:02am] • [D]Sara offers her a small smile before turning towards the boy and pointing the screen at him.
[01:02am] • [9]Doudan moves along in the center of the crowd, occasionally looking back at Cole.

[01:03am] • [GM]Cole looks at Sara meekly.
[01:03am] • [D]Sara offers him a smile in return.
[01:03am] • Kovacs looks at Cole from time to time but gives him a wide berth, hovering around Iris as usual as she listens to the conversations.

[01:03am] Sublimia: <For being critical of me, you're pretty clingy.>

[01:17am] • Kovacs adjusts her tie and playfully sticks out her tongue at Cole, but keeps observing him closely.
