Why do you keep resetting?
I am using RNG manipulation by starting my game at a specific time and then pressing A on the TV broadcast on a specific frame to get a seed which will mean I can get a good Chimchar and manipulate no encounters at the start of the game. I use the way the NPC is facing outside to determine whether I hit the correct frame. He should face up and then to the left. The Chimchar I get has a Naive nature and IVs of 29/31/24/30/15/31 meaning it has Hidden Power Grass of power 66, which is important for the run.

Why do you pick the girl?
If you pick the girl, you get Lucas instead of Dawn as the professor's assistant, who has less dialogue.

Why do you name yourself/rival/chimchar I or J?
Having a 1 character name saves time and I and J are close to the confirm button so they are easier to select.

Why do you choose Chimchar?
He is the fastest at beating the first 2 gyms, and learns all the required HMs so you don't need any other pokémon.

What is extended manipulation?
Before, we would manipulate encounters up to the Galactic double battle and then after that we couldn't because the RNG advanced during the two cutscenes. Now we have a way of manipulating past this meaning we can manipulate encounters all the way up to Eterna and also manipulate the spinners. So as long as I do all the correct movement and get through the textboxes after the double fast enough I won't hit any spinners or get any encounters.
This manip saves the time to buy repels and use them and means spinners can be consistently dodged faster than usual.

What glitches are there in this run?
The only glitch is tweaking, I do 3 tweaks on cycling road to skip the Lucas cutscene, and then another in Jubilife City to get into the void.

Why Pearl instead of Diamond?
It doesn't make any difference and my Diamond cart is set up for practice.
