PERSONALITY :
	(+) felicific = whenever people are with dayeon, they instantly become happier and have this instinct to keep the situation positive. she's a happy gal and wants to share her joy with others. she's outgoing as well, so you'll catch her saying to hi to people in the halls and flashing them a big smile. she's not afraid to go up to a random person and pitch a conversation, even if it'll be for a minute or two. her ultimate goal is to make people think, "that made me feel good, i should be more positive" and to move the feeling forward. it also makes her feel better when she makes someone else feel better.
	(+) observant = if dayeon is not greeting people with a smile or shooting compliments out, she starts to pay attention to the place and the people that surround her. she does this very discreetly, not that she's trying to, but people just don't think of her as one to eavesdrop or to pay attention that closely, so they don't notice. she knows a lot more than people assume she does, and it frustrates her when people automatically feel the need to guide her through life like she's clueless. she's got the skill of picking up on small little habits people do and she will remember small things they say. i think this can come in handy when finding out who's having a bad day or who could use some cheering up. bc she wants to make people happier, her observant nature helps point out the people who aren't having the best day, and she'll make a note to shoot them a big smile.
	(+) trusting = dayeon is someone who always tries to see the best in people. she wants to experience something/someone before she believes or makes any judgment rather than hear what other people have to say about that specific thing/person. she wouldn't want anyone judging her before they got to know her, so she tries to do the same with other people. she's one to see the brightness in someone full of deep darkness. that being said, since she puts so much trust in other people, she's usually being fooled a lot. whether it's just a small little prank her friends will pull or a complete messy lie, she'll believe you. her friends or her brother can warn her about it, but she'll never listen, unless you betray her yourself. breaking her trust is something that is hard to come back from as well. she puts so much effort the first time around that when you break her trust, you must have burned it to ashes that went with the wind.
	(-) bitter = dayeon is rarely angry. there are times when she's sad but she keeps those moments to herself, so there's not a time of day where you won't see her with a smile on her face. and like i said before, she tries to see the best in people, so on a scale between her good and bad side, most people are found on the good. but when you find yourself on the bad there's no way getting back. as i mentioned, dayeon is a pretty trusting person, therefore if you have a little fuck up or you continue to act in a way that she doesn't like, she won't make a huge deal over it. she won't be mean to you or anything, she'll try to remember your good qualities, and she'll still greet you in the halls, but if you break her trust (or heart rip), there's no going back. and when she gets angry, she holds that grudge and stays bitter. she'll die with that grudge and won't hesitate to let you know she's got it and that she has a riveting hatred towards you. she won't insult you or make fun of you, she'll just let you know she doesn't want anything to do with you, and pretty aggressively at that.
	(-) sheltered = dayeon is constantly being protected by every single person in her life. her parents were too scared she would become scarred from their divorce so they helicopter her, both of them, and they don't live together. there are times when she enjoys all the love and attention she gets but sometimes she swears they still think she's four. they constantly check up on her, and get worried when she doesn't respond right away, they never let her leave the dinner table without finishing two servings, and they make sure she comes home by curfew, which is way too early for a 16 year old. and not to mention all of her peers think she's too pure for the world, so they never let her do anything "too dangerous." what first started off as not cursing in front her or refusing to help her sneak out of her house after curfew, turned into doing the simplest of things for her. in gym class? i'll climb the rock wall instead so you don't sweat or hurt yourself. during a presentation? i'll do most of the talking, just stand there and look pretty. got a question? i'll ask the teacher for you. it just slowly progressed into doing the smallest of things for her that she's fully capable of completing and it's given her the reputation of being an actual baby; of not being able to do anything for herself. while sometimes it's nice to take a break and be lazy (she doesn't want to be lazy ALL the time though), she feels like she misses out on so many "teenager, high school" things. and it's because so many people worry for her, that she keeps up the innocent, kind persona. yes, she actually wants to spread positivity and she likes being happy, but she feels that if she ever expressed a distaste to the way she's treated, everyone would either say she's incredibly ungrateful or they would just be sad and think she doesn't want their friendship. also, if she were to ever show that she's not all that pure, she swears her parents would faint from shock and disbelief. in their eyes, she's the baby. the baby that is too innocent for the world, to clean to be dirty. they brought her into the world based on a shallow dumb idea that she'd be able to bring them closer together romantically and since they failed, they can't just fail at raising her. so if she was going to miss curfew or they thought she was "acting up" they'd think they messed up and that it was all their fault because blahblahblahallthesebadthingsbecauseofthemblahblahblah.
	(-) reticent = building off the last trait, dayeon doesn't let anyone know exactly what she's feeling. she's too worried that it's not going to satisfy the idea that her peers have of her. she never tells anyone when she's upset, not the type of sad where you get a bad grade on a test, but the kind of sad that's mental and way deeper. she smiles through everything, and she's gotten so good at faking a smile that her fake one is just a smidge short of being an exact copy of her real one. she's not necessarily unhappy but she feels as though she can never be sad. she also feels that she brings joy to a lot of people so if she were to be sad, it would just make others sad.
LIKES :
	- dayeon actually really enjoys hearing about gossip. obviously she'd rather not be the subject but she likes hearing about all of it. it makes her feel like a real teenage girl, and the fact that it's kind of a bad thing to do, makes her feel excited (idk if you saw/read harry potter but kinda like that scene in the 5th movie/book where they have to go behind the school and break rules and hermione is all excited cause it's "bad"). because she is friendly with a lot of people, she ends up hearing about all the drama but she's usually the last to know.
	- dayeon likes to have physical contact with others. she likes hugs and light shoulder brushes and she likes to express her mood and enjoyment through the physical feeling to the other person. she feels that if she can show she's having a good time with her body, it'll help the other feel more confident and comfortable. also she just doesn't like being cold, and finds that whenever she's around another human being, there's warmth there to share.
	- beaches/pools/swimming! she loves being outside in nature and having the sun shine on her face. that just energizes her even more than she already is. being in the water is such a nice cool down as well, so beaches are the perfect convo! her dream house is a house on a boardwalk so she could wake up to the sun and ocean waves
	- starry nights! even though dayeon thrives when it's sunny outside, there's something so calming and almost romantic about a pretty night sky. especially when the only light is coming from the bright stars above. there may be no sun, but the stars give off such a bright light
	- anything that's oversized. this may seem like a typical teenage girl interest, but the one reason why winter is a close second to her favorite season (it's summer) is because she can wear these big puffy coats and large sweaters that go down to her knees that just make her sooooo warm. she also loves that in summer she can wear long shirts and pretend they are dresses (she wears shorts under dw). it's kinda shallow but she wants a bf or a really close guy friend so she an steal his shirts and sweaters rippp
DISLIKES :
	- bad weather!! whenever it rains or it's a gloomy day, dayeon can't help but get a little sad. she always reminds herself it's just the weather and tomorrow it'll be sunnier but there's something about the dark sky that just puts her in a bad mood.
	- horror movies! she's open to them but is such a scaredy cat when watching them and will be freaked out for the next week after!
	- seltzer and fizzy drinks because they hurt her throat phat rip :/
	- reading books. even though dayeon tries to find the best in people (also things like stories) she can't help but always fall asleep upon trying to read any type of book. english is her worst subject bc of it :(. she'd never let you know, but she'd rather watch the movie.
	- dayeon dislikes staying inside all day. like i mentioned with the whole beach/sun thing, she likes to feel the sun on her face and get out everyday. it's another reason why she dislikes the bad weather bc it's hard to go outside and enjoy your time out there. this is also a tell-tale sign that she is incredibly unhappy about something and it's really affecting her because the girl even takes small walks on days when she's sick in bed. if you can't get her out of her house, something's up 👀
TRIVIA :
	- even though i mentioned how dayeon would be in a situation of actively hating someone, she has never gotten to the point of full hatred with anyone she knows. she kinda lives up the stereotype in a sense that no one hates her because she's so pure and couldn't hurt a butterfly but she's got a sharp tongue. she'd usually never use it just in conversation, maybe just to say a witty thing that came to mind, but she's used to being nice and making silly jokes. even though she's never gotten to the point of hatred where she would tell them off, that part of her definitely exists (and could surface in the af)
	- while dayeon does actively try to make people feel more positive, her raw nature in general makes people feel better. before she realized she "needed" to be good all the time, she was just instantly happy and originally had a cheerful attitude. as well as she is somewhat a goody-two-shoes, so i find that people feel like they'd want to "better" or act more innocent around her. she wishes this wouldn't happen because she really doesn't mind if someone wants to swear or gossip. she enjoys hearing about the school drama and wish her peers wouldn't be so worried about telling her. she's their peer! of course she wants to know too! ://
	- dayeon has a curfew :////. i won't specify the time, bc it could change based on how you'd want to write the story, but basically it's early for a teenager. when people first find out she's got one, i picture them kinda being like really??? you're parents did that? and then they think about it and they think "oh makes sense, she probably doesn't even want to be out that late either." she highkey HATES it and wishes she could just leave her house and not come back until 3am :(
	- i said this a little earlier but i thought i'd elaborate more here! the reason dayeon acts so innocent and happy all the time is mainly because of her parents! you'll learn more about their relationship in the her background but essentially they had her in a weird situation and shortly got a divorce after, they are still friendly but they were scared of putting her in an unfit environment to be raised in. her brother didn't seem to show any discomfort towards the situation, but since dayeon was a literal baby they were really worried and became super protective, like helicopter parents, and it's both of them. for their sanity, she tries to do the right thing and not do too many spontaneous, "bad" things. it's also so they won't be breathing down her neck all the time, even though they still do for whatever she does. she's always been happy and positive from the moment she learned how to smile and she knows that it keeps them sane to certain degree and doesn't want to test the possibility of them going crazy, so she stays as straight in her lane as someone could try. and even though a lot of her friends like the think they are different than her parents, there are quite similar. they don't mean to exclude her from things, but they just subconsciously do it sometimes, thinking "oh well she wouldn't want to do that, and besides there's no way her mom would let her"
	- dayeon lives with her mother and her brother recently went to university! she used to see her father all the time on the weekends but that stopped when he moved to the city! the whole family still gets along so there's no bad blood between her parents or anything. i picture them middle class as well!!!
	- dayeon is really good at cooking and baking! her mom tends to work some late shifts, so a lot of the times she would make dinner for her brother and herself. when she was a little girl she used to like to sit in the kitchen and watch her grandmother cook all the time. sometimes she'd be removed because she'd get close to the stove or her dad said she couldn't be around knives but she always found her when back in there to take a peek!
	- she's a big sharer! whenever she's got a new snack, she offers a piece to everyone in the room, or if she's got a new pen she won't mind letting someone try it out. she just likes to see how the other person will brighten up with joy upon their request being granted. that being said, she's really only a sharer when it comes to physical things. food, pens, hugs, but like i mentioned before she rarely shares what goes on in her head or what she's feeling.
	- her dream date is stargazing! like i mentioned before she loves starry nights so she would love to just lay down on the grass, look for constellations, and watch the pretty stars. she would also be up for cloud gazing (if that's what it's called) you know when you look look for shapes in the clouds, accompanied by a picnic or food of some sort
	- carries a small first aid kit and will give anyone a bandaid if they ask. they are usually different bright colors or cartoon themed.
	- even though she doesn't like books, she likes the library! it's nice, quiet, and calm in there. plus she always gets the librarians to converse with her even though they are constantly shushing her. tbh she just enjoys talking to the faculty, but she likes the atmosphere of the library


―GENUINE HEARTS ; 美しい

BACKGROUND : dayeon was born to a family of three; a mother, a father, a brother, and all of them seemed to be completely set on the same mission: protect the new born. see she wasn't born during the best conditions. her parents had been together all throughout high school and collage and it just so happened that right around the corner of graduation, what would soon be baby boy yuchan, dayeon's older brother, was conceived and given birth to. ergo the couple quickly got hitched, but as life went on, the candle started to burn out. through frustration and a huge chunk of their lives seeming to be wasted, they decided, "let's have another kid, maybe it'll bring back the spark" but over the next nine months, it didn't seem to work as they wanted. so they spilt, but having to take care of a new born baby AND filing for a divorce at the same time seemed to be tougher than it sounded, and it sounded pretty tough. not to mention, they heard the horror stories of the "divorced parents ruins child's future" so they quickly became hyper aware of everything they did. trying to shield dayeon from the harshness of the reality in which she was brought to the world in, turned into shielding her from anything deemed as "dangerous."
	she does well in school and has a nice social group, so they didn't have to worry about that as she grew older, but that didn't stop them from making a mountain out of a molehill at every chance they could. she grew up being asked a thousand questions at home upon her mom's arrival from work, and a phone call a day from her dad, who had moved the the big city after she had reached her teens. her brother was lectured by their father when they entered the same school, so he never let his eyes off her and practically scared off anybody who said, "woah she's so pretty." and with dayeon being as observant as she is, none of this went without notice. the amount of angry conversations she's had with her brother that have turned into "sorry i got mad, i know you were just looking out for me" and all the nosy worries her parents have expressed that she just quickly assured them everything would be fine without letting them know how she really feels (which would be something along the lines of "i can handle it myself!!!! i'm fine!!! stop worrying so much!!!") have gone into a list that's too long to keep track of. while her friends will say every once in a while "man i wish they'd let you live a little" they still try to shelter her even if they don't notice it. they just think of her as the facade her parents (and herself, let's not put all the blame on everyone else) have made for her which is, "i'm so innocent please don't let me out after curfew or talk badly about other people around me, be happy all the time!"
ACTIVITIES : if there's some type of red cross or first aid club, dayeon would be in it! what she wants to do does not have to do with medicine, but she wants to be able to help people when they are in need of help physically. she also volunteers at an animal shelter every one in a while and likes to play with all the animals. she once tried babysitting but her curfew was earlier than the kid's (she was very embarrssed rip)

FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM : dayeon was definitely not jisung's biggest fan. as dayeon tends to be very kind and friendly upon meeting someone new, i bet she'd be a little turned off by his persona. i think their first interaction would be something like she smiled at him in the hall and said hi and he just kinda gave her this look of confusion and disgust. she'd be like oh??? he's probably having a bad day or something, but it was quite negative, so she'd be turned off, still determined though! don't think she'd be super obsessed with making him feel better ,since there's 100 more kids in the school she "has" to greet, but she wouldn't stop smiling or greeting him if they crossed paths again. they are essentially opposites, so i don't think she'd understand him very well, and just try to cheer him up if she saw him.


―DRUNK IN LOVE ; 恋人

DEVILS & MAGIC : dayeon definitely believes in magic and devils. she's never thought about it too much but there's a part of her that's hopeful there really is magic. she would never dismiss something if there wasn't proof that it did or didn't exist, so she's a believer. that being said, she doesn't support the devil movement or whatever you'd call it skfhldjlk. she acknowledges that there needs to be bad for there to be good, but she doesn't see the appeal in seeing others suffer or causing other people to feel bad. i don't think she'd outright judge why someone would be a devil, but she'd have questions for them and might try to understand them.
WHY DO THEY NEED A DATE? : dayeon needs a date because her parents won't let her go to the dance alone. they were already iffy about letting her stay out late, but she did a lot of begging and they agreed on the terms that she would go with someone. most of her friends already had dates or made other arrangements and they think it's cute she needs a date bc she's really never focused on romance or dating before. she could easily get one her friends to let her tag along but she wants to show her parents AND her friends that she's capable of getting a date and being able to go to a school dance (and that she can stay out after curfew to hopefully lift it). she refuses to get any help from her friends because she wants to prove she can do it by herself, but she didn't know it'd be that hard to find someone that doesn't already have a date or someone who doesn't have plans.

SCENE SUGGESTIONS : i want dayeon to get severely angry at one point in the story! whether it be at one of her friends or jisung i don't care that much but i think it would be interesting to have her snap. kinda like how i said she's never actually gotten all mean/bitter to anyone but i would want to see that side of her. i thought if it was towards jisung, maybe it could happen at the dance but that all depends on how you wanna write/format your story and everything. but if it were to happen w/ jisung i think that while she spends time with him, she would just put up with his attitude bc she sees a better side in him but then at the dance he just says something that like really pushes her buttons. maybe she was starting to really see the positivity in him but then he got nervous and just said some dumb crap about her just being happy all the time like she doesn't have any emotions (she was probably opening up to him and trusted him enough to tell him about her parents and depths of all that) and maybe he'd make an assumption about her and i think it would just like flick a switch and she'd just,,, snap, very aggressively. #2 - if the devils are friends with any of the girls, i think she'd be friendly with chenle or jaemin! jaemin is quite popular and sociable as well as dayeon. chenle is a big loud mouth, and well i think she'd appreciate his positivity and definitely talk to him every now and again. this isn't really a scene but i thought i'd say it here in case you needed to have like characters with connections for scenes!
