- It's a shame. Meiyo enjoyed coming down to Cruxati.. even if he was met with nasty glares from time to time. The lush view was a nice change from the organized and militaristic Huangzhou settlement. It's as if nature itself co-existed with this tribe in perfect harmony.
- It was something of beauty, really.
- Marching along with his allies, Meiyo had his eyes set on one sole objective- to fulfill his promise to Ume... to free him from his untimely demise. He knew it was not Ume's time yet.
- Nobody can determine another's destiny.
- While everyone fought whichever Magi they encountered first, Meiyo crept deep into Gehennan lands.. clearly trying to keep this as quiet as possible. As hard as it was.. he was dedicated to doing the right thing.
- That was the difference between someone like Meiyo… and Maina.
- …
- Even his stealth operation would not turn out as expected. From a distance, the Simora noticed a familiar face in thenight, but who? The darkness of the jungle shrouded Hatsu carefully- like a creature that disappears and appears from the shadows.
- "I plan to rescue my people.. I advise you don't stand in the way. This doesn't concern anyone but Ume and I."
- But of course it concerned the Gehennans. He was effectively trying to steal their property! And he knew how much the tribesmen valued their property.. and how much they despised theft.
- Drawing his blade, the man was shrouded in strong spiritual energies- prepared for confrontation.

- The call to battle was almost harmonious, and Hatsu had removed himself from the peaceful fire he had settled around. His eyes were radiating a sense of harshness to them, each footstep he took feeling heavier than the last. It would become apparent that Huangzhou would be setting their sights upon the area in which he was currently living at, their grasp extending outward to incite further unnecessary violence. He felt that playing the role of a pawn in a war was merely foolish, but the desire to crush those that threatened his living was what had finally driven him to step on to the field of battle.
- He had answered the call to fight this war with the sole purpose of repelling their people. He was not out to spill the blood of those whom he once looked up to, but to drive a point home. The people within that city could not do whatever they wanted, and they would certainly need to understand that their arrogant behavior would cost them the lives of the warriors they continued to send out into battle.
- He had seen an alchemist from Huangzhou among the vampires, collared and effectively a slave to them. At the rate things were going, Huangzhou would implode upon itself as enemies from all portions of the world swooped down upon them. Sparks and the like rang out as forces collided with one another, leaving Hatsu to shift along the battlefield as he took note of a vaguely familiar face. Frost expands around Hatsu as it sweeps up various soldiers, encasing them in frigid cold, but not outright killing them.
- He was still young, perhaps naïve and foolish to think that a battle could be won without killing anyone. As the darkness is briefly illuminated by the glinting of crystalline structures, Hatsu would face Meiyo properly, shifting his feet apart with lidding eyes.
- "I won't allow Huangzhou to have their way, continually. They've made enemies of the world itself, and are dooming themselveswith these actions. You'll be repelled, all of this for a stupid plum farmer is a clear sign that whomever is in charge of that city needs to be replaced."
- But was this -really- the reasoning? It mattered not, as his focus laid upon the battle itself, as a soldier. The air appears to grow colder as Hatsu began stepping forward, summoning forth mana as the ice around him appears to quake in preparation...

- Meiyo didn't find pleasure in hurting those that stood in his path. Enemy or not, it was difficult to do the right thing constantly. Had he been a monster? The Simora would have no troubles slaying all those in his path.
- But a Simora focuses on doing the right thing, not deriving enjoyment from it.
- To say the least, the spirit swordsman attempted to make quick work of Hatsu, bombarding him with 50 energy slashes, all hitting the man's joints and locking him in place from time to time. That was merely the beginning, however.
- As the fight progressed, Meiyo would slash and beat away at his opponent- crude, I know.. but he had little time and many things to do.
- To say the Ice Magi was powerless, though? It'd be a lie.
- Had Meiyo not been used to fighting wielders of ice constantly... he would've surely been overwhelmed by his opponent's bitter attacks.
- To mark the end of this battle, Meiyo would grit his teeth, harnessing the energy from his spiritual power- as if an otherworldly entity was empowering his palm. Glowing bright blue, the entirety of his fingertips would slam into Hatsu's chest.
- "MANA... BOMB!"
- The sheer energy behind his attack would send ripples across the region they were fighting in, knocking over nearby trees. Letting out a painful scream, Meiyo would clutch his arm, watching as his opponent flopped over to the ground... free to take.
- No, that wasn't his purpose.
- Huffing and panting, Meiyo would kneel, speaking to the semi-conscious warrior who'd fought valiantly for Cruxati.
- "I will let you go.. stranger. You and I don't have enmity. Understand that I must be the bulwark for my people... no matter how hard it is. I hope you get treatment."
- Dropping all of his coins beside Hatsu, as well as some food.. he prayed the man could find a decent doctor.
- As for him?
- He had places to be. Grunting as he grabbed his numb arm, Meiyo ran off to rescue Ume.

- Naïve he had been, and this was reflected upon Hatsu as his inexperience overall had come back to haunt him. His battle against a sword-user was limited at best, and he felt overwhelmed as he was assailed with a relentless combination of attacks. For the first few moments, he felt as if he had been frozen in place, unable to even respond as he was sent flying across the forest! He gasped heavily as he threw himself back into the midst of combat, unleashing a maelstrom of ice that failed to truly land home.
- Nothing he was doing appeared to be working, however. He was beginning to feel futility closing in as he fought with the natural arsenal he had acquired - but it had been to no avail. As Meiyo's hand planted itself against his chest, and his features were illuminated, there was only initial shock present. Shortly after, however, was a twist of pain as a muted scream of agony escaped his mouth, being flung straight through a tree as he spiraled wildly. The expulsion ofkinetic force had fractured ribs within his body, expelling a large amount of blood from his mouth as he finally landed into the unforgiving dirt.
- His vision swam as he laid upon his back, blood leaking from his mouth as he was unable to properly comprehend what was happening. His mind screamed for him to move, but he was unable to move, and he could only watch as Meiyo shifted into the darkness as he fled. Hatsu slowly diverted is blurred vision toward the skies, wheezing and gasping as he clutches at his chest.
- Pathetic. His resolve had been lacking, and his inability to stop this man was also going to bring him shame. What was he even doing out here, with such a lack of strength or dedication to fight for something he believed in? Stars gleamed in the distance, but none of them appeared to be beckoning him. Perhaps he was not fit to have one, as he currently stood.
- He passed in and out of consciousness for some time, before managing to slowly pick himself up, scrambling to gather the left behind items as his teeth gnash. He felt helpless, but what festered in his chest besides pain was actual anger. His hand presses itself against his chest, lightly coating his chest in cold waves to soothe the flaring pain.
- Even so, it did little to abate the fire that only grew. He hated being looked down upon, but being pitied again? He'd yell out in frustration, but he could barely breathe properly as his heart weakly beat, leaving him to stumble back to the Cruxati a failure.
