  8. Please feel free to substitute pet names for any you prefer, add your own style and flair as you see fit. You may add to it, if you'd like, or change lines to better suit your way of speaking. Make it your own.
  9.
  10. ***************************************************************************************************************************************
  11.
  12.
  13.
  14. *phone ringing then connection sounds*
  15.
  16. Hello?
  17.
  18. Hi baby! How are you?
  19.
  20. Just ok?
  21.
  22. (Small laugh)
  23.
  24. Yeah, I'm just ok too…
  25.
  26. God it's been so long since I've heard your voice.
  27.
  28. I know we just talked two days ago… but... it feels like forever to me.
  29.
  30. I know, baby. This situation isn't ideal for either of us but… we've made it work this long, a couple more months isn't going to end us.
  31.
  32. (Chuckle)
  33.
  34. Well now, come on… a couple more months is really nothing compared to everything we've already been through. We're almost there, don't give up on me now.
  35.
  36. (Sighs)
  37.
  38. Yeah… I miss you too.
  39.
  40. Come on, baby… please don't cry…
  41.
  42. Please?
  43.
  44. Ok, ok… just… cry if you need to, ok.
  45.
  46. Yes, fine, you can even yell at me for taking this stupid job that forces me to be away from you for so long… I know you were never happy about it.
  47.
  48. I deserve to be yelled at.
  49.
  50. Yes! I mean it. If it'll help you feel better in any way then yell at me, curse my name, call me an idiot…
  51.
  52. Do whatever you need to do to get it out, baby…
  53.
  54. (A few seconds pause to indicate you're actively listening)
  55.
  56. Ouch! Low blow! Now I know you're upset and all hon, but that's no reason to attack my fashion sense!
  57.
  58. (Laughs)
  59.
  60. Besides, that hat was a present from -your- mother!
  61.
  62. Wait a sec… was that a laugh I heard just now?
  63.
  64. Yes, it was… did I actually get my grumpy goose to laugh a little…
  65.
  66. Such a wonderful sound.
  67.
  68. (Small pause)
  69.
  70. Are you feeling any better?
  71.
  72. Maybe?
  73.
  74. Begrudgingly so, huh?
  75.
  76. Meh… I'll take it as a victory this time.
  77.
  78. (A small forced laugh followed by a sigh)
  79.
  80. Look, baby, I know this has been tough, being apart for so long like this… and I am sorry.
  81.
  82. When I took this job… all I could see in my mind was that little house on 25th Street, the one we've been dreaming of putting a down payment on since we moved in together?
  83.
  84. Yeah… the one with the rose bushes in the front yard.
  85.
  86. I just imagined finally being able to afford that down payment and how stunning you would look bent over working in that garden.
  87.
  88. (Laughs)
  89.
  90. I know for sure that was a real laugh that time!
  91.
  92. It's so good to hear you laugh again.
  93.
  94. (Small pause)
  95.
  96. Hey, do me a favor…
  97.
  98. Yeah, I know, you've already done many favors for me but… just do this one more right now, ok?
  99.
  100. Ok.
  101.
  102. Go to the window, the one facing downtown.
  103.
  104. Just… humor me. Please?
  105.
  106. You there?
  107.
  108. Good. Now… look up. At the sky. What do you see?
  109.
  110. No, no… I'm not playing around… just tell me what you see in the sky.
  111.
  112. Clouds? Ok… but is there anything else? Maybe behind the clouds?
  113.
  114. Mmhmm… that's right, baby… the stars and the moon.
  115.
  116. What's so special about the stars and the moon?
  117.
  118. Baby, we are looking up at the exact same stars and the exact same moon.
  119.
  120. All those little twinkles, the way they form all those fantastical pictures in the sky… like a giant connect the dots puzzle… those are all the same little twinkles that I'm seeing.
  121.
  122. And that big, bright, almost full moon? It's the same beautiful mass that I'm currently looking at.
  123.
  124. Even though we may be hundreds of miles apart… even though we may even be in different timezones… we're not so far away from each other that we can't share this together.
  125.
  126. Every night, when you feel all alone and as if this time apart will never end… just… look up at the moon and the stars and the vastness of the night sky…
  127.
  128. And know that I'll be doing the same.
  129.
  130. And know that one day very soon, we'll be together in our own little house, in our own little yard, looking up, hand in hand, at this very same moon.
  131.
  132. No distance between us, no time to distract us, nothing can take that away.
  133.
  134. Soon, baby… soon.
  135.
  136. It will be just you, me and the moon.
