- Akalloch's Tomb is a massive structure built of large sandstone blocks.
- There is some sprawl outside of the structure, but the majority of the city exists inside of it on several levels that ring the structure.
- on the bottom floor is the Chamber of Akalloch, where Akalloch is "entombed" in a large stone sarcophagus. From here, he rules the city. The city itself acts as his phylactery.
- Beneath the city is a complex network of catacombs, an old and largely abandoned system of tunnels and rooms.
- Puzzles in the catacombs:
- The Halls of Burning Blood
- follow red path to the end, avoiding dark tiles which trigger fire traps. The hidden room at the end contains a switch which opens the first hidden door to safely traverse the left path.
- The alternating tiles can be traversed to find a switch that will make getting to the left room safe. Alternatively, a character can be on fire from a spell effect or taking persistent burning damage and the traps will not trigger. Burning inflicted by fire traps will not go out unless manually extinguished.
- The left room contains a false tomb, inside which is an iron key.
- The iron key is inserted into a lock held by a statue in the northern left room, which will fuel a fire pit in the same room. When lit the smoke will waft to the northern chamber, revealing the hidden door.
- In the final room three players be burning and bleeding to open the way.
- The final room contains a third of the key to the aphorite tomb, an iron crest fragment.
- riddle:
- follow the path of iron
- With burning stride, fear not the dark
- The false queen holds the key
- Sacred smoke reveals the lie
- Boiling blood sets you free
- The Halls of Steel Soul
- stand on the colored tiles to defeat the knights
- the party must stand in line with the shot and use shield block to reduce the damage to zero
- gather the items from the northern chests:
- the head of a statue
- a crown
- a dagger
- a wand of divine lance
- a gold piece
- the party must stand in formation to each get hit once, getting hit twice does massive damage and resets the puzzle.
- riddle:
- The six crumble under pressure
- With shields in hand, weather the storm.
- The fearless receive great gifts.
- Give the five what they deserve.
- Bare your souls to the blade in turn.
- The Fiend- hit with divine magic
- The Trickster- hit with piercing damage
- The Knight- Replace the broken head
- The Queen- Kneel before her
- The Beggar- Offer gold
- The Halls of Frozen Heart
- Guide yourself to the righteous path
- There is nothing left
- Unite in solidarity
