so i finally watched suicide squad because it happened to be airing on HBO (i didnt want to pay to watch it, so i just waited for it on tv.) and wow, it was a fucking mess. i mean, it was fun and kinda interesting in an action flick special effects kinda way. and will smith and margot robbie had a great dynamic and were really good in it. but so much of the plot, characters, backgrounds, and just random scenes were really cringy. and like it kept jumping around with no connection, introducing backstory with no context or connection, scenes with no context or connection that served no purpose to further the plot or characters, and just a sorts of mess. it was like batman vs superman, but worse and with more obscure and less established characters. that said, the lead characters did a good job of salvaging the film, and it was overall enjoyable, but boy was it a ride of trash and a lot of scenes were felt like you were just enduring them waiting for them to end so you could get back to harley and deadshot.
