- I tried to live in the house that Jack built, with the maiden forlorn and her cow with the crumpled horn. I watch the dog that worried the cat that ate the rat and then spat out his bones. I killed the horse and the hound with the horn that belonged to the farmer sowing his corn. I saw the rooster that crew in the morn, right before I lopped off his head in scorn.
