- Brogg is interested in Olin and wants Olin to work for him. He'll offer what he thinks is an offer Olin can't refuse- great pay, access to rare materials, any tools or facilities he might need, contacts to other great minds, a team of others to help, etc. He wants Olin to put his mind to work innovating and developing new products for Big Eye Inc. Brogg remembers what happened to Olin's arm and Olin's father, calling it a tragedy. He was just getting his footing Hzjrkrgrndr at the time, the beginnings of his business empire that has rapidly expanded in recent years. He says that he has since used his influence and money to help "clean up the streets", such that those things won't happen again.
- If Olin explores the facilities of Brogg's factory he might find a production line for explosives that seem oddly similar to the ones that took his arm.
- If Olin has questions, Brogg will answer in a way that he thinks will convince Olin to join him, lying especially about his involvement in the attack on Olin that cost him his arm and the attack on Olin's father. He'd say that back then, his own small, fledgling factory had been burglarized, with several proof-of-concept explosives being taken. When it seemed that Olin's father might pick up that trail in a way that would implicate Brogg and perhaps reveal the underground connections in his own business, one of his men took it upon himself to remove Olin's father from the situation. Brogg of course handed them over to the guard, but also made sure that the entire situation would be kept quiet, the beginning of a long and corrupt partnership with the guard who have now been largely replaced by his men.
- "Olin Mortong. I've had your name on my desk and in my ears much as of late. Word of your talent and skill in crafting all manner of things is hard to avoid.
- The Smithing guild feels small compared to Brogg's many facilities now, as he bought up and integrated some of the forges. The number of members has dwindled, with only a few left, mostly old-timers. The lack of work has caused many to jump ship to Brogg, whose influence allows him to easily snatch up contracts across the region and lets him undercut the guild on even small work to slowly choke them out of business. There is a general air of defeat, many feel that the time of the guild has passed, given way to whatever future Brogg and others like him might build.
- Kregra left the guild about 8 months ago to work for Brogg. She has lost a bit of hope in the art of smithing and crafting as a whole, what was once her passion has become just a job, and while pay is decent and there's near endless work available, she hopes to one day have enough money saved to go elsewhere. She spends her days doing soulless work, mass producing some small component. Skilled work, no doubt, but repetitive and without the personal aspect that made guild work fulfilling.
- Sumda is still working at the Brewery, which is struggling against the industrialized might of Brogg's own brewing operations. Many locals still prefer Lost Barrel's offerings, keeping afloat through supplying various inns and restaurants, but their profits are way down as wider demand across the region has fallen due to Brogg's ability to outcompete them. Her parents are still on the cusp of retirement, but are a bit stuck. Brogg has offered them a handsome amount to buy them out, but that would mean the end of the family business. Olin's mother is obviously against this, but it's hard to argue that the money Brogg offers would ensure them a very comfortable retirement and a decent inheritance for her. Brogg has offered to retain all of the existing employees as well.
