7. Characters:
8.
9. Zi Chen: Our beloved mc. Known to others as an extremely cautious and cunning individual. Is also described as ‘very handsome’, though handsome men seem to be a common sight in this world. He is very intelligent. Status: Alive
10. Zhao Can: The former best friend of Zi Chen. He was as close as a brother to Zi Chen. He betrayed Zi Chen for a 500-year-old Snow Ginseng to gain the favour and support of Wang Xiong, a senior in the Inner sect. Despite his vicious personality, he did regard Zi Chen as an important friend and held some guilt towards betraying Zi Chen. He intended to leave Zi Chen alive after betraying him until the Lin brothers convinced him otherwise. He is an opportunist and utilitarian who believes that everything can be abandoned as long as there is a benefit. Killed by Zi Chen. First appearance in Chapter 1. Status: Dead
11. Lin Hao: One of the persons that cooperated with Zhao Can in backstabbing Zi Chen and the younger of the Lin brothers. Doted on by his older brother. Was killed by Zi Chen. First appearance in Chapter 1. Status: Dead
12. Lin Ying: One of the persons that cooperated with Zhao Can in backstabbing Zi Chen and the older of the Lin brothers. Held a very close relationship with his younger brother. Despite what others may think, he has a fierce code of morals and firmly believes that brothers should be 'treated with absolute sincerity'. Went on to seek vengeance for his younger brother and was killed by Zi Chen shortly after. First appearance in Chapter 1. Status: Dead
13. Wang Xiong: A senior in the Inner sect. Zhao Can betrayed Zi Chen for a 500-year-old Ginseng to obtain the favour of Wang Xiong. First mentioned in Chapter 1, and one of the more prominent antagonists. He is an utilitarian like Zhao Can and thinks the same way as him. Status: Dead
14. Steward Zhang: Caretaker of the Ling Wu sect. Ranked below the Inner sect disciples but above the Outer sect disciples. Has an amiable personality. Status: Alive
15. Wang Meng: Wang Xiong's younger brother. Status: Alive
16. Fu Jie: Follower of Wang Meng. Was later sent to deal with Zi Chen. Status: Dead
17. Chi Ming: Follower of Wang Meng. Was later sent to deal with Zi Chen. Status: Dead
18. Su Mengyao: Number one disciple of the inner sect. Beautiful and talented, even core disciples have their eyes set on her. She seems to show a little interest in Zi Chen, but nothing further. She is set to be engaged to Chen Feng and promoted to a core disciple along with him. Although she appears to be all looks and simply relies on Chen Feng's status, it is an open secret that her status is not so simple. Elders have ceded to her on multiple occasions and Chen Feng himself is courteous towards here. She has a kind character, and is hesitant to kill unless needed to. Status: Alive
19.
20. Lin Xue: Second harem member. They met when Zi Chen found her at the foot of a mountain, injured. Zi Chen then carried her back to the sect. Since then, it is heavily hinted that she has developed feelings for Zi Chen. She is backed by Su Mengyao’s sister, cares very deeply for Zi Chen and has given her unconditional support to Zi Chen on multiple occasions. Despite her attractive appearance, she has a rather sharp tongue, and her insults are known to be particularly malicious. “Hmph. Utterly shameless. I think that it’s better if you go and serve your senior brother yourselves. Go and blow his flower.” Status: Alive
21.
22. Miao Kong: A close friend of Zi Chen’s, though he did not seem to get along well with Zhao Can when the latter was still alive. He cares deeply for Zi Chen as a brother (not blood-related), even saving Zi Chen on multiple occasions. While he is often overshadowed by his peers (who tend to be geniuses/monsters in cultivation), it is also implied that he is not as simple as he is depicted, and this has been noticed by only a few people, Su Mengyao and Zi Chen. He is also mysterious, and hides many secrets. How he obtained his powerful movement technique (Chapter 54) and why he has no need for contribution points are a mystery, even to Zi Chen and Zhang Haotian. Status: Alive
23. Chen Feng: Personal disciple of the Ling Wu sect’s patriarch, and one of Su Mengyao’s many chasers. Apparently he has looks that can make other men gay for him. He has a cunning and smart mind.
24. Liu Yang: One of Zi Chen’s few friends. Not much is mentioned about him. He later attempted to betray Zi Chen. Status: Dead
25. Lin Mi: Wang Meng’s lackey. Dude who splashed shit on Zi Chen’s hut. Was later the one who found Zi Chen when he left the sect to train his Thunderbolt Finger technique in peace. Status: Dead
26. Ke Xue: Random dude who was stepped on by Zi Chen. Side character.
27. Wu Ling: Side character.
28. Yi Hong Sheng: Side character.
29. Wu Sheng: Potential enemy who has clashed with Zi Chen.
30. Wang Huachu: Side character.
31. Liu Guandou: Side character.
32. Tong Xuan: Side character.
33. Guan Yun: Side character.
34. Lu Ben: Side character.

36. Lin Mingchuan: Side character.
37. Liu Lusheng: Side character.
38. Pang Lujia: Side character.
39. [Side characters appeared in Chapter 19-21, tournament arc. Their losses and wins can be viewed there.]
40. Luo Men: A disciple in the Inner sect who embezzles contribution points and pills. He attempted to embezzle contribution points away from the official competition reward that Zi Chen was supposed to receive. When forced by Zi Chen to return Zi Chen’s contribution points, he gave the first-rank Thunderbolt Finger martial technique to Zi Chen in retaliation as it was considered a bootless technique. His status in the inner sect is relatively high due to his accumulated wealth through embezzling. Even Wang Xiong answers to him. He later supported Wang Xiong’s attempts to kill Zi Chen with his wealth. Status: Alive
41. Wei Lin: A disciple at the seventh Zhen Qi layer. He is close with Wang Xiong, and cooperated with him in an attempt to kill/cripple Zi Chen under the guise of a challenge. Status: Alive
42. Luo Mu: Side character. Retard that tried to steal Zi Chen’s newly gained Zhen Qi pills after he won the fight against Wei Lin. He makes a reappearance in the Spirit Medicine arc and persuades the Ten Seeds to kill Zi Chen after Zi Chen deliberately spared him. He also has a rather glib tongue, and is good at coercion. Status: Dead
43. Cao Kai: At the peak of the seventh Zhen Qi layer. Lackey of Wang Meng hired to kill Zi Chen. Status: Dead
44. Yi Ping: At the seventh Zhen Qi layer. Lackey of Wang Meng hired to kill Zi Chen. Status: Dead
45. Lin Chuan: One of the people that Wang Xiong brought to kill Zi Chen in the Solitary forest. Status: Dead

47. Po Luo: One of the people that Wang Xiong brought to kill Zi Chen in the Solitary forest. Has a good relationship with Qi Yuan. Status: Dead
48. Liu Chen: One of the bigshots in the inner sect with a status on par with Luo Men. Side character.
49. Luo Fei: Another person that's named Luo Fei. Apparently he's Luo Men's uncle, and helps Luo Men get out of the occasional pinch.
50. Elder Chen: Great elder of Ling Wu sect. Zhenyuan realm.
51. Elder Zhang: Great elder from Black Tortoise sect. Zhenyuan realm.
52. Elder Ge: Great elder from Zhan Wu sect. Zhenyuan realm.
53. Ling Yun: Future sect master of Zhan Wu sect.
54. Wu Hong: Future sect master of Black Tortoise sect.
55.
56. Xu Yan: Number one inner disciple in the Ling Wu sect and the main antagonist of the Spirit Medicine Garden arc. First of the 'Ten Seeds', he later leads the role of the tragic character when the Ten Seeds are decimated by Zi Chen and gang. The sole survivor of Zi Chen's and his friends' massacre, he goes half-mad after the rest of the Ten Seeds (his 'brothers') sacrifice their lives to help him survive. He is further pushed off the edge of insanity; the final straw that broke the camel's back was when he discovered a beast (a black leopard) scavenging his brothers' corpses. He tears apart the beast before falling into full insanity, turning into a half-man and half-beast. He killed everything he came across in the Spirit Medicine Garden, cultivators and monsters alike. He killed male cultivators directly, raped female cultivators before killing them and tore apart beasts. He later broke through to Xiantian realm after swallowing numerous spirit medicines, before gaining slight sanity. He later attempted to rape Su Mengyao and Lin Xue in front of Zi Chen for revenge under Ling Chen's scheme. "This was a human, but it crawled on the ground and moved using four limbs, as if it was a ferocious beast. Its clothes were completely stained with black bloodstains. A pair of eyes which should have been black emitted an endless bloodthirsty red. His whole body, from top to bottom, was filled with a savage aura."
57.
58. Liu Yu: Ranked second of the 'Ten Seeds' of Ling Wu sect (the strongest disciples in the inner sect). Was later killed by Zi Chen and friends, when he sacrificed himself to buy time for Xu Yan, the first Seed. His desperation to trade his life for Xu Yan was so strong that his fingernails pierced Zi Chen's skin, a remarkable feat as Zi Chen had a body equivalent to a beast of the ninth-rank at that time. Status: Dead
59. Ling Chen: Number one inner disciple in the Zhan Wu sect. He was later sought out by Xu Yan in a desperate bid to take revenge for his dead brothers. He did not seem to empathise with Xu Yan's plight, unlike the disciples from Black Tortoise sect. He schemes dangerously, and was the main antagonist behind the Spirit Medicine Garden arc who orchestrated the huge fight for the Spirit Water Flower.
60. Xie Qiu: One of the top inner disciples in the Zhan Wu sect.
61. Mu Yi: One of the top inner disciples in Black Tortoise sect. He has a strong sense of justice and conscience. Like Lu Peng, he deeply pitied Xu Yan after watching him fall into insanity. He joined in the fight against Xu Yan after Lu Peng moved to support, and was enraged when the other disciples did not help.
62. Liang Guang: One of the top inner disciples in Black Tortoise sect.
63. Zhang Haotian: A close friend of Zi Chen's, but ostracised by his fellow disciples in the Zhan Wu sect. He met Zi Chen when Zi Chen saved him from Zhan Wu's inner sect disciples. He was initially cold and rude to Zi Chen, but opened up after Zi Chen risked his life to protect him. Status: Alive
64. Ling Fei: Someone that Zi Chen stole a rank 1 weapon from. Cousin of Ling Chen. Was later held hostage by Zi Chen.
65. Chen Qi: Ninth Zhen Qi layer cultivator from the Zhan Wu sect. Gave chase after Zi Chen stole Ling Fei's weapon and fled.
66. Tai Kai: Ninth Zhen Qi layer cultivator from the Zhan Wu sect who attempted to ambush Zi Chen.
67. Zhen Hua: Inner sect disciple in the Zhan Wu sect. Attempted to kill Zi Chen and Zhang Haotian in the Spirit Medicine Garden. Seems to share a close relationship with his fellow 'brothers' (not blood-related) like Thin Monkey. He was incensed when Zi Chen killed Thin Monkey, and was prepared to fight to the death to take Zi Chen down with him. Status: Dead
68. Thin Monkey: Inner sect disciple in the Zhan Wu sect. Attempted to kill Zi Chen and Zhang Haotian in the Spirit Medicine Garden. Was ambushed by Zi Chen and eventually killed, although he put up a good struggle and was cautious. Status: Dead
69. Lu Peng: Another genius of the Black Tortoise sect, who admires Zi Chen and Zhang Haotian. He agreed to support Xu Yan in his revenge because he was afraid of Xu Yan's retaliation. However, he is also cunning, and only did so to placate Xu Yan, knowing that Zi Chen and his friends would have left the area they had killed the Seeds, which meant a real fight wouldn't have broken out. He has a strong conscience and sense of justice, and deeply pitied Xu Yan after watching him fall into insanity. He was the first person to support Zi Chen even though: 1; he could have fled, and 2; the matter did not concern him. He was irate when the other disciples did not step in to help Zi Chen. "“I order all of the tenth Zhen Qi Layer disciples of my Black Tortoise Sect to kill Xu Yan. This person is insane. After he kills Zi Chen, we might be his next victims.” Lu Peng spoke in a loud voice, his eyes trained on Xu Yan."
70.
71. Chen Chong: Attacked Su Mengyao and Lin Xue and had intentions to rape them. Was later crippled by Su Mengyao, though spared. Status: Alive
72. Zhao Cong: A famous expert in the Black Tortoise sect, ranked third in the inner disciples of his sect. He was sent to test the waters of the monster guarding the Spirit Water Flower. He died in his attempt to battle the monster, despite his best attempts to flee upon contact. Status: Dead

85. Third-rank Flowing Cloud Step: A footwork/movement technique.
86. First-rank Thunderbolt Finger: Although acknowledged widely as the strongest first-rank martial technique in the Ling Wu Sect, it is also considered the most useless martial technique. It was allegedly a Xiantian-level martial technique, but was incomplete as several moves had been lost. Unfortunately, due to nobody being able to master the technique, it was regarded as useless. Despite its reputation as ‘useless’, 200 contribution points is needed to exchange for it in the Ling Wu sect.
