CHC: (( The thing shrieks, flailing as smoke roils from its withering corpse. The fungal infestation becomes slightly less intense ))

CLP: What the hell...? There's a hivemind?
CHC: (( The thing bursts open after enough lightning, releasing the people held in its belly. They are unconscious ))

CHC: (( The locket pulses brightly ))

CHC: (( It glows even brighter as she holds it up , and the fungus touched by its light withers and dies. ))

CHC: (( Some of the Decayed Ones bask in the light, and they start to regain their former forms ))
CLP: Are there other beasts like the one I just killed?
CHC: (( The one beside her, now a young woman with looks similar to Dante's says. "Yes, there are very many." ))
CLP: How many? And where can I find the hivemind?
CHC: (( "I don't know exactly. I think there are dozens." ))
CHC: (( And for the hivemind... The deeper I go, the cloudier my thoughts get. ))
CLP: That's fine. I just need to kill enough to weaken the hivemind... How can I find these insects?
CHC: (( Just look for the people pods. ))

CHC: (( The infestation becomes all the more evident as she ventures deeper. Her shoes make a wet squelching sound as she walks now, and some of the undulating vines seem to be reaching towards her from the edge of her vision. ))

CHC: (( She finds some eventually. The transformation is different though. These ones look more feral. One of the Decayed Ones leaps at her, shrieking, from the darkness. ))

CHC: (( It covers its eyes, and howls, but doesn't revert. Several more leap out of the darkness, hissing and spitting ))

CHC: (( They don't appear to be listening. One rakes its claws across her back ))

CHC: (( A whispery, sensuous voice. "Aww... the poor girl tripped." ))
CHC: (( Its quite obvious to find. However, several of the Decayed Ones are blocking her path ))

CHC: (( Hurry up though, the locket's light appears to be fading. ))

CHC: (( They writhe as they're engulfed in flames ))
CHC: (( Tentacles lash at her, aiming to cut her apart or impale her ))

CLP: Just die and let these poor souls rest!!
CHC: (( The Defiler shrieks in pain and explodes ))
