The number of tokens in the initial supply is sort of irrelevant, broadly speaking. You could think of it as buying/selling a certain proportion of the supply - the number of tokens you get when you buy that percentage of the supply, along with the number of tokens making up the total supply are pretty much arbitrary numbers. I'm just trying to say that you own a percentage of the tokens, and the number of tokens you get for that percentage doesn't mean much.

Actually it's a design impossibility right now, there's only one solution to the problem but it's extremely uneconomical.
It would be quite easy to have multiple proxies which would give users the choice, I see no reason why you wouldn't have that from the get go.

Even if you had an account for each BP,  and you created an order, your order would then be split amongst 30 separate contracts and your vote weight would be 1/30th..there's also several other problems it would cause

You just need 6 or half a dozen varied proxies (mimic the top or best ones) not an account for each BP that's hell of a lot more choice + opt out is a bonus for you

I will say it again, I am not leaving EOS.  In the process of working on EOS security and scalability I stumbled upon a new set of tradoffs for a potential crypto token and I have merely been exploring whether there is a market for those tradeoffs.  EOSIO is the future of blockchain and each day our team at block one is making it faster, more secure, more scalable, and more flexible.
EOSIO is the most effecient, lowest cost, infrastructure for general purpose progamable public blockchains. It has the lowest fees and highest throughput.  Blockone is actively seeking to improve this through better DB implementations, faster WASM exec, more effeicent network communications, multi-threaded sig checking.  But ultimately, only multi-chain and IBC are capable of scaling enough to meaningfully bring down CPU costs.
block.one is making incremental improvments every week, we have already more than doubled CPU throughput since launch.
We are working on a small hard-forking change that will enable most users to never have to rent CPU and allow DAPP  creators to rent / own CPU for their users.
the take away from this should be that block one is actively working to make EOSIO better and solve problems
we just need to move carefully with changes to a live network... and also to bundle hardforking changes.

I will say it again, I am not leaving EOS.  In the process of working on EOS security and scalability I stumbled upon a new set of tradoffs for a potential crypto token and I have merely been exploring whether there is a market for those tradeoffs.  EOSIO is the future of blockchain and each day our team at block one is making it faster, more secure, more scalable, and more flexible.
This hypothetical token would be immutable, non-programmable, and limited to a currency role.  It would in no way compromise the much larger use cases for EOSIO applications.

Apparently I’m not even allowed to explore an idea so that perhaps someone can make life better for everyone
EOSIO is the most effecient, lowest cost, infrastructure for general purpose progamable public blockchains. It has the lowest fees and highest throughput.  Blockone is actively seeking to improve this through better DB implementations, faster WASM exec, more effeicent network communications, multi-threaded sig checking.  But ultimately, only multi-chain and IBC are capable of scaling enough to meaningfully bring down CPU costs.
block.one is making incremental improvments every week, we have already more than doubled CPU throughput since launch.
We are working on a small hard-forking change that will enable most users to never have to rent CPU and allow DAPP  creators to rent / own CPU for their users.
the take away from this should be that block one is actively working to make EOSIO better and solve problems
