Thank you very much for purchasing G. Amusements’
Burning Man cartridge, an exclusive for Nintendo’s
Game Boy. Before using, carefully read the player’s
manual. Please, safely keep this manual.

Advice on using this product
1 When playing for a long time, for health’s sake,
rest between 10 to 15 minutes to each hour
or two of game play.
2 This product is fragile, keep it from extreme
temperatures and avoid strong impacts as well.
Please, do not disassemble this product in any
circumstances.
3 Do not push ON OFF button repeatedly. When the power
button is ON, do not remove the external power supply.
4 In addition, when the power button is ON, please do not
remove the batteries.
5 When handling the power supply, don’t soak in water.
This is a cause for accidents.
6 Please, do not clean it using paint thinner, benzine,
alcohol, gasoline or similar products.

Story

New Land is a peaceful country, the sun shines over desert
and sea, forest and lakes, nature’s pleasing lush green is set
like a miniature garden.
In New Land there’s a small town, Maia. A professor lives there
alone, doing amazing research on  biotechnology. He creates a frog
shaped robot, Kerompi, to assist him. Day and night, he uses various
insects on his experiments.
Doctor’s dream is to create a giant bee. He loves honey and a giant
bee could produce lots of it. One day, an evil virus got into the
experiment, producing enraged insects. These insects spread into
New Land and began devouring its beautiful nature.
To oppose them, Doctor dispatches Kerompi and mustering all his knowledge
creates a super robot with the power of sun’s beams, Burning Man.

With a strong sense of duty, Burning Man’s journey
begins…

Controls basic operation

D-pad (Up . Down)….
Focus control, up and down
(When paused) Item select.
(Left . Right)…. Player’s focus and
movement control.

A button…. Burn poster,
(When paused) Use item.

B button…. Jump.

A+B button…. Place bait.

Start button…. Pause (display items)
press again and it unpauses.

Select Button…. No usage

⏺Continue screen
D-pad (Left . Right)…. Left continues the game, right
ends the game, move the character to select your
choice.

How to play the game

Placing the cartridge
First, place Burning Paper cartridge into the Game
Boy, when you turn the power switch on, “Nintendo”
and then “LOZC” will appear. Next, the prologue
will play through. Finally, the title screen will appear.
Push start and the game will start!!

How to play Burning Paper
5 rounds for each of the 4 stages, each one gets  harder missions
as the game progresses.
When starting out, the insects will climb on top of the posters
glued to the wall. You control Burning Man, use your focus to burn
the posters and drop them down!! Insects will go up the wall and if
they touch you, it’s a failure. If you’re  burning too many posters
and the bugs are beyond your beam’s reach, place a bait to lure them
to a better position and knock them out all at once!! When you knock
down the determined number of insects you get a round clear.
After 5 rounds it’s time to face the boss! After defeating it, you can earn
points on the Bonus Stage and proceed to the next stage!!

Character’s Introduction

Burning Man
A super robot created to protect New Land’s nature
from the enraged insects.

First Stage Boss – Tarantula
Be careful with its 3 web attacks!
If you clear this boss you receive the power up Jet
Boots, it increases the speed of your movements!

Second Stage Boss – Centipede
Be careful with its agility!
(The head is the weak spot!)
If you clear this boss you receive the power up Armor
Shield! It protects you from one hit from the enemy!

Third Stage Boss – Beelzebub
Don’t underestimate the fly attack!
(The body is its weak spot)
If you clear this stage you receive the power up Super
Wings, it allows you to float a while when you jump.

Fourth Stage Boss – Gasura
It attacks with 4 bullets.
A tough enemy. (Attack its body!)

Special weapons to fight the bosses
A+B button…. Anti-Insect-Bullet (hitting the insect
with this will cause to get it paralyzed for a while).
※ Bait and Anti-Insect-Bullet can be used 3 times
at most, if you wait for a while you receive more.

⏺Bonus Stage
Capturing the biggest number of insects within
30 seconds, that’s the objective of the Bonus Stage!

How to play the bonus stage
A button…. Use the net to catch insects!
B button…. Jump.
D-pad (Left . Right)…. Moves the player left and right.

⏺Acquiring and using items
Items will appear when you hit Item Bugs.
The item will float upwards and you need to catch them.
When it comes the time to use it, press START button,
select the item with the D-pad and press A to use it.


Item Bug
When you hit them, it turns into an item.


Item effects
WIND…. A strong wind comes blowing.
KRONP…. Kerompi comes and eat insects.
PORTER…. Replaces one poster.
PORTER DX…. Replaces all the posters.
POWER UP…. Beam makes bugs retreat even farther.
STOP…. Insects stop moving for a little while.
1 UP…. Increase life reserve by one.

Insects Introduction

Drone Beatle
Moves slowly and has no attacks. Small fry.

Baboru
Climbs in a straight line. A weird guy.

Gan Gan
Moves slowly but be careful with this one!

Chewer
It moves to 8 different random positions!

Mojara
It doesn’t care about baits, a strange guy.


Cover Sack
Attacks you with bullets while climbing!

Peptide
Throws excrement at you, it’s difficult to avoid his
attacks.

Ninja
Due to its transparency it’s hard to detect.

Mole Pin
It appears in sandy soil, very noisy.

Petanyago
Climbs using its claws.

Catcher
A flying mecha who steals the baits you place.

Zumbi
If you shoot it with your beam it will be paralyzed
for a while.

It crawls around everywhere. It has a lot of HP.

Warp
Slithers away, take good aim!

Jungle
Walks around and jumps while climbing.

Leader
Soldiers will come out of its body.

Soldier
It will be destroyed when the leader is defeated.

Mirror Bug
This bug is not affected by the beam.

Battle Eagle
It stays in the air according to its course.

Miba
Shoot it with your beam until it gets small.

Trampoline
It runs to recover falling bugs, a supporting insect.

SHOT
It aims and launches itself into the player!

Snake
A insistent pursuer!

Missile
It can only be destroyed using your beam.

It flies and rests in a defined pattern.

Funga
It embushes and attacks throwing stones, a very
strong bug.

Nerd
It has a weak stare.

Fryer
It throws fire over the wall as a weapon!

Explosion Bug
It explodes itself, terrible!

Snatcher
It snatches away any bait you placed.

I attacks with one bullet, it just acts tough.

Killer
The commanding officer. Attacks with fearful
sharp blades.

Backbone
It place its eggs and leave.

Baby
Comes out of Backbone’s egg.

Blob
It absorbs other bugs and grows enormous.

Zoro Bug
It slowly continues to multiply.
