  20. Overview
  21.
  22. Hard Drive Data Recovery Software for MacData Recovery and Computer Forensic Software Self-booting CD, featuring unique "Direct Drive Access" technologies that bypass the BIOS to communicate directly with the drive's hardware. Plus, 5 recovery modules that have been refined over 10 years.
  23. What is MediaTools Pro?
  24.
  25. It is professional level computer forensic software designed to recovery data from failing hard drives.
  26. Cycle-Clone / Reverse-Clone
  27.
  28. Extract raw data from mechanically failing drives to another like drive, keeping them out of the clean-room (Used with File Recovery Tree, Boot and Partition Repair and Media Editor).
  29. Cycle-Image
  30.
  31. Image over a network. Creates an exact sector copy for back up protection (Used with File Recovery Tree, Boot and Partition Repair and Media Editor).
  32. File Recovery Tree
  33.
  34. Automatically rebuild the file system to recover files and folders to reliable media.
  35. Boot Partition Repair
  36.
  37. Automatically rebuild the boot sectors and partition tables to recover files and folders to reliable media.
  38. Media Editor
  39.
  40. Mount the file system: to rebuild it to recover files and folders to reliable media; and/or to View, Look for, and Edit raw data, without knowing Hex, through custom-designed editing templates.
  41. Secure Wipe - Bonus module!
  42.
  43. For when you need to destroy data. Permanently delete data beyond the level the U.S. Department of Defense requirements.
  44. Reverse-Clone / Cycle-Clone
  45.
  46. Reverse-Clone is the process of cloning from the end of your media to the beginning of it. When your media is severely failing mechanically, "Reverse-Cloning" is often your last chance to extract raw data from it, without having to take it into a clean room. This unique technology, coupled with Cycle-Clone and Cycle-Image, surpasses any cloning or imaging technology available.
  47. Cycle-Clone
  48.
  49. Surpasses standard sector cloning and imaging methods by not only creating an exact sector back up copy of any media type to a like media; but, it also automatically cycles into Reverse-Clone when confronted with mechanical issues, such as read errors, to extract the most raw data possible.
  50. Cycle-Image
  51.
  52. Creates an exact sector back up copy of any media type like Cycle-Clone, but the image is compressed (or uncompressed) into files. These files are either archived into "Split" files on a similar media, or "Spanned" onto removable media, such as a Zip.
  53.
  54. For example, when writing to a media that is smaller than the Image file, the Image function automatically prompts you for additional media, breaking down the Image file into individual "Spanned" volumes. If you want to write to a Zip disk, simply change the default volume size (2GB or 2097MB) of the Image file to 100MB. At each 100MB interval, you are automatically prompted for additional media to store the Image files. In this case, you would continually swap Zip disks until the process is finished.
  55.
  56. The main advantage of Imaging is to restore an exact physical sector copy of your original media, just in case the original or cloned media fails. Another added advantage with this data recovery software is that a portion of an Image file is easily restored, without having to wait for the entire Image to be restored. For example, if your attempt to edit the Boot Sector has dismal results, simply restore just the Boot Record to edit again.
  57. File Recovery Tree
  58.
  59. File Recovery Tree gives you the power to:
  60.
  61.     Automatically recover any and all files and directories to another destination, including network drives (DOS/Windows 3.x/9.x/NT/2000/XP).
  62.     Recover data from hard drives (IDE, SCSI and SATA).
  63.     The data recovery software recovers data from removable media (Zip, Jaz, etc.).
  64.     Access any size hard drive.
  65.     Gain access to your hard drive when the BIOS does not recognize it.
  66.
  67. Locate and View all File System Components:
  68.
  69.     Partition Tables
  70.     FATs (File Allocation Tables)
  71.     Root Directories
  72.     Sub Directories
  73.     NTFS File Records (MFT)
  74.
  75.     Create a detailed report of changes made by File Recovery Tree
  76.     Authenticate the results with MD5 (Message Digest 5)
  77.     ...and much more
  78.
  79. Boot Partition Repair
  80.
  81. The point of using boot and partition repair software is so that you can access your files and directories, not destroy them, right? In all cases, Boot and Partition Repair guides you to:
  82.
  83.     Exit "Boot and Partition Repair" and turn off the computer once the necessary repairs are accomplished. Then
  84.     Slave or designate the repaired drive, as a secondary drive, behind a working bootable Windows drive. Then
  85.     Reboot the working drive into Windows (not the secondary/repaired drive). Then
  86.     Go into Windows Explorer and copy your data from the repaired drive to the working drive.
  87.
  88. Media Editor
  89.
  90. Media Editor is not just your standard Hex Editor. Without knowing Hex, the Media Editor can mount a file system, automatically recover files and directories, and help you manipulate or edit raw data through uniquely designed editing templates. How?
  91.
  92. First, the Media Editor mounts DOS and Windows File Systems at the sector level. This means, without knowing Hex, the Media Editor calculates the geometric location of each component of the File System and automatically links them together. This lets anyone, whether beginner or advanced, easily navigate from sector to sector throughout the file system - simply follow the links within the Mounted File System Components.
  93.
  94. Second, once the File System is mounted, the Media Editor can automatically Build a File and Directory Tree Structure, and recover files and directories to another Destination Drive, formatted FAT32 (use this option if File Recovery Tree does not produce the results you want).
  95.
  96. Next, through uniquely designed editing templates, the Media Editor can View, Look for, Edit, and Report anything within the file system on any media or operating system, without knowing Hex. This lets anyone, who is familiar with the file system, edit much easier than ever possible.
  97.
  98. Finally, Media Editor can be used independently as a Hex Editor on any media or operating system. This function allows you to bypass the mounting process to work through the uniquely designed editing templates or directly with the raw sectors of data.
