  1. Birdo. The weird dinosaur boss thing from Super Mario Brothers USA that was repurposed for being Yoshis partner in various spin off titles. After the redesign, Birdo shares a pretty similar body shape to Yoshi. And seeing as the two are often paired together, it makes pretty logical sense for Birdo to be Yoshis echo fighter in Super Smash Brothers. Birdo would share most if not all of Yoshis normal attacks, while bringing some old custom moves from Smash 4 along to make her feel more distinct from other echoes CHOUGHCHOUGHDAISYCHOUGHCOUGH. She would be a bit slower than Yoshi overall, but have a bit more power. The speed over power difference is very tame compared to Captain Falcon and Ganondorf.

  3. Entrance animation:
  4. Shy Guys carry her down to the battlefield, kind of an inverse of the beginning of her special shot in Mario Tennis Aces.

  45. Neutral Special: Egg
  46. Birdo fires out an egg in the same way she did in her boss fights in Mario 2 USA. The attack doesn’t do much damage, but it does push enemies away. Based off Wii Fit Trainers Sweeping Sun Salutation Custom Move from Smash 4.
  47.
  48. Down Special: Suck Up.
  49. Birdo begins to inhale in front of her. If an opponent is sucked in, they take damage and Birdo heals. Though the damage and healing aren’t as good as Warios bite. This is based off Warios Inhaling Chomp Move from Smash 4.
  50.
  51. Side Special: Birdo Egg
  52. Birdo throws her signature item from Mario Kart Double Dash down, the Birdo Egg. It bounces forwards, and the longer it takes for it to hit an opponent, the less damage it deals. This is based off of Shieks Skimming Grenade Custom Move from Smash 4.
  53.
  54. Up Special: Bomb Egg.
  55. Birdo shoots an egg straight up, and when it lands, it blows up and causes a good chunk of damage. Based off both Yoshis Timed Egg Throw Custom Move from Smash 4 and one of Birdos attacks from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga.
  56.
  57. Grab:
  58. Birdo takes a quick breath in, and if the opponent is nearby, the opponent gets sucked into her mouth.
  59.
  60. Pummel:
  61. Same as Yoshis.
  62.
  63. Forward Throw:

  74.
  75. Final Smash:
  76. Same as Luigi’s. Except instead of the Poltergust it’s Birdos mouth.
  77.
  78. Taunt 1:
  79. Birdo makes hand kisses towards the camera.
  80.
  81. Taunt 2:
  82. Birdo spins around and does a pose, similar to one of Jigglypuffs taunts.
  83.
  84. Taunt 3:
  85. Birdo wags her finger and mutters “This is as far as you’ll go!”, though obviously in her weird honk like voice. This is a reference to one of her lines from Super Mario Advance.
  86.
  87. Victory Theme:
  88. https://youtu.be/swuCzKbL4_U The Level Clear jingle from Mario 2 USA.
  89.
  90. Victory Animation 1:
  91. Birdo makes multiple dramatic hand kisses towards the camera, referencing her 1st place celebration animation from Mario Kart Wii.
  92.
  93. Victory Animation 2:
  94. Birdo shoots multiple eggs up in the air, until one falls behind her and explodes, causing her to fly off screen. This references Birdos trophy obtain cutscene from Mario Tennis on the N64.
  95.
  96. Victory Animation 3:
  97. Bowser is shown with his eyes closed smiling, with Birdo about to kiss his cheek. Bowser opens his eyes last second, and runs away with a horrified expression. This is a reference to Bowsers Trophy Celebration in Mario Power Tennis.
