“Well, again, Metropolis thanks you, Mr. Luthor.”
Luthor turned toward the windows, with their sweeping views, and opened his arms wide. “This city has given me so much, Mayor Fleming. That’s why I’m always eager to give back. I’ll also be making a large donation to repair any damage done by the robot. And I’m happy to pay the medical bills of anyone who may have been hurt in this unfortunate episode.”
Mayor Fleming smiled. “Honestly, Mr. Luthor, I don’t know what Metropolis would do without you.”
“Neither do I,” Luthor said, smiling back. “Neither do I.”
