  1. Update v20170418 Changelog:
  2. _______________________________________
  3.
  4. Thanks to all your comments and feedback, we’ve just added a much-requested feature to Styx: Shards of Darkness – a multiplayer save system! This update is available for download right now on Steam.
  5.
  6. Here’s a summary to help you understand how the new system works:
  7.
  8. • Only the Host can save the game, with the following limitations:
  9. • Only Autosaves & Manual Saves (The “Save” option from the Pause Menu) are available.
  10. • Quicksaves (F5 / D-Pad Right) are not available.
  11. • The Client cannot save.
  12. • The Host cannot save if the Client is performing an action like Jumping or Killing.
  13. • When both players die, the Host can choose which save file to load. At the end of the Loading Screen, the Client will be in Spectator Mode and has to spawn.
  14. • Every time the Host saves, the save file is sent to the Client which stores it locally. This means:
  15. • The Client can store locally up to 3 Multiplayer save files.
  16. • The Client can later use this Multiplayer save file in Solo. However, when loaded, the Client will always start at the beginning of the Sector (though their character progression and inventory will stay intact).
  17. • If the Client leaves the Host’s game but decides to come back shortly after, their Profile choice will be overriden by their local Multiplayer save. This is due to the assumption that the player will want to use their latest save if they decide to come back to a game they just left.
  18.
  19. Thanks again for all your feedback and comments - they’ve been a great help in our improvement of Styx’s latest adventure!

  22. Update v20170405 Changelog:
  23. _______________________________________
  24.
  25. NEW OPTIONS
  26. • Players can now disable Game Over cutscenes
  27. • Players can now entirely disable the HUD (Health and Amber gauges), leaving only the UI prompts and occasional Tutorial windows.
  28. • The Dual Shock 4 controller is now natively supported. Players still have to manually select the “Playstation” option in “Options -> Controls -> Button Type” to correctly adapt the UI of the game.
  29. • A FOV (Field of Vision) Slider has been added to the game.
  30.
  31. IMPROVEMENTS
  32. • The Multiplayer’s experience (both on Host and Client side) has been improved -> Less visual desynchronisations / More consistent experience
  33.
  34. STABILITY
  35. • General improvements of the Stability in Solo and Multiplayer
  36. • Fix of a specific corruption problem that could happen on a player’s save and cause a Crash if the player loaded that save.
  37. • Fix of a Multiplayer Crash that happened if you were navigating in the Mission menu while dying
  38. • Fix of a Multiplayer Crash that happened if you were buying a specific skill
  39.
  40. BUG FIXES

  42. • Fix of a rare problem that didn’t trigger the “Reach the Tavern” objective in the Prologue Mission
  43. • Fix on the optional objective “Find the Switch” in the Mines sector (Linked to the acquisition of a new Dagger for Styx). Activating the • switch while not being in Amber Vision didn’t trigger properly the rest of the secondary mission.

  45. • Fix of a rare Multiplayer bug where the Client could lose the control of Styx after a clone had been killed.
