  1. > Risk. It’s what you took when you decided to listen to the avatar of chaos and jump into a dimensional rift.
  2. > Pain. It’s what you feel as your torn apart on an atomic scale and every fiber of your being is transported from your dying realm to a new one.
  3. > Rustling. It’s what your jimmies feel as the thought of everything you know and love was left behind to die and your mind is exposed to interdimensional horrors that would send a normal man insane.
  4. > Luckily you were already crazy, or maybe you weren’t. Sometimes it’s hard to be sure if your body was always able to talk to you.
  5. “Isn’t that right brain?”
  6. (Shut the fuck up anon, I think I can see the end of this god awful trip.)
  7. “Aren’t we touchy?”
  8. (No, your hands are touchy, I’m just a smartass.)
  9. “Shouldn’t my ass be the smart one?”
  10. (I fucking hate you man. I swear we better come out normal on the other side.”
  11. “That’s if we survive though isn’t it?”
  12. > Brain has either decided to ignore you or was right about becoming normal again.
  13. “… Why was I talking to myself?”
  14. > Well you’re still doing it since there’s no one around.
  15. “Oh hey I made it. Fuck, shutting up now.”
  16. > It appears to be nighttime as the sky is black and the moon…
  17. “That’s not a moon.”
  18. > It’s not a space station either.
  19. > Looking up it appears as though this universes equivalent of Earth is orbiting around the sky.
  20. > Or perhaps you were orbiting it, seeing as how the landscape around you was cold, gray and cratered.
  21. > Perhaps now would be a good time to panic.
  22. > Yep.
  23. > And now you were running around the moon trying to make sense of your situation, determining exactly HOW fucked you are and generally keeping your shit together before you lost it all.
  24. > Luckily your last day on earth which you spent in fear for a good part of, left you tired.
  25. > Add on the stress of cross dimensional travel, realization that your life was essentially over now that the world is gone and you were ready to just lay down and die.
  26. > So you do.
  27. > Waiting however gets boring.
  28. > So you decide to get up and take in your surroundings now that you’ve had time to calm down.
  29. > Hours, or what felt like hours later and surprise.
  30. > Nothing.
  31. > Perhaps it was too much to hope for a lunar colony to just appear in front of you.
  32. > There might not even be any life on that earth wannabe up there.
  33. > Or was it down there?
  34. > It’s all relative really you suppose.
  35. > Feeling a bit dejected you continue to wander aimlessly along the moon’s surface, lower gravity than you’re acclimated to left you to believe that this was still this dimensions equivalent to the moon.
  36. > Cold?
  37. “Check.”
  38. > Hungry?
  39. “Check.”
  40. > Tired?
  41. “Check.”
  42. > Fucks?
  43. “… Check back later.”
  44. Hoof prints?
  45. “Check.”
  46. >…
  47. “Wait, what?”
  48. > Looks like you do still have a fuck. Damn shame that it's time to cash that bad boy in and follow these tracks.
  49. > Why hoof prints though?
  50. > Better than nothing you suppose, Discord had a fuckin goat leg after all so maybe it was another one of him.
  51. > Yeah a moon god, sure buddy.
  52. > Maybe you can ride whatever made these tracks, or eat it.
  53. > Maybe it will eat you.
  54. >…
  55. “Shit.”
  56. > Alright maybe you can kill this thing with something you have on you.
  57. > Steel toe boots?
  58. > Perhaps.
  59. > Tool belt inventory.
  60. > Ball peen hammer?
  61. > Maybe.
  62. > Multi-tool? Kinda last ditch effort there.
  63. > Pouch full of nails and wood screws?
  64. > Caltrops maybe? Nah.
  65. > Power drill.
  66. > Is missing.
  67. > Fuck that could’ve been useful.
  68. > Measuring tape?
  69. > amifuckingkiddingmyself.png
  70. > High power stapler?
  71. “It'll hurt anything that gets too close I guess.”
  72. “That’s CLOSE enough creature.’
  73. > You freeze as your brain processes the first voice it’s heard since your arrival.
  74. > Scanning immediate vicinity.
  75. > Space.
  76. > Earth where moon should be.
  77. > Armored black horse.
  78. > Craters.
  79. >…
  80. > Run that by me again.
  81. > Craters?
  82. > No, no, the armored horse part.
  83. > Yep. It’s still there.
  84. > “Why are you staring at me?" Do you want me to end your life that badly?”
  85. > Hey look, it talks.
  86. > Blacking out now.
  87. “But I don’t wanna-”
  88. > K.O.!
  89. > Out like a light.
  90. “I awake several hours later in a daze.”
  91. > With two serpentine eyes gazing into yours.
  92. “AHHHHH!”
  93. > “AHHHHH!”
  94. “JESUS FUCK GET OUT OF MY FACE!!!”
  95. > “I thought you had died!”
  96. “I just might! Fuck. You nearly gave me a fuckin’ heart attack.”
  97. > The horse is still talking, maybe you did die.
  98. “Oh God, talking fuckin horse.”
  99. > This appears to have upset her.
  100. > “HORSE!?! I should smite you here and now!”
  101. “WHOA! Calm down alright? I didn’t mean to offend you.”
  102. > She glares at you for a moment before turning to the side.
  103. > “Hmph. To think the first creature I meet on this forsaken plane would be so ignorant.” She turns her head to you. “And I’m a pony for your information, but you’ll refer to me as NightMare Moon.”
  104. > A pony? Nightmare Moon?
  105. > Night Mare Moon.
  106. “I hope equine puns aren’t a common thing here. And aren’t you a little old to be a pony?”
  107. > “Old!?! I am only 2500 years old, spent most of those on this gods forsaken moon thanks to my sister.”
  108. > You could taste the hate in her voice at the word sister.
  109. > But now is the time for Intel gathering
  110. “Okay let’s say I believe you’re 2500 and you’ve spent the better portion of it here on the moon. How have you survived?”
  111. > “Simple food conjuration spells. My powers may have been diminished after my banishment, but I am more than capable of providing for myself with such low level magic.”
  112. > You’ve come to more or less accept magic and the shock of a talking hor-PONY is fading, but now you’ve got a new question.
  113. “Banishment?”
  114. > Seems as though she’s let slip more than she intended since she just refuses to respond. The look of confusion she has on her face however seems to indicate otherwise.
  115. > “You’ve not heard of me?”
  116. “I didn’t even know what you were, how could I have heard of you?”
  117. > She ponders this but after focusing her gaze back to you her silence makes it clear she’s waiting for your next move.
  118. “I take it you don’t really want to talk about it?”
  119. > “Before I speak on my behalf, I believe it’s only fair you tell me who you are and what you’re doing here first.”
  120. > Not what you were expecting but can’t argue with that logic.
  121. “My name is Anonymous, as for what I’m doing here? Well I guess it all started in the end, the end of my world that is.”
  122. > You explain to Nightmare some of the theories behind the apocalypse and how until things started going to shit the general disinterest of the world in regards to the apocalypse. This segues into how you had decided to attend work normally at the construction site and up until the point where a manticore appeared through an interdimensional portal and ripped most of your coworkers apart. Next was your Olympic gold worthy run from the beast and then your encounter with the avatar of chaos.
  123. > “You say you met Discord, in the flesh?”
  124. “Well not really, apparently it was some kind of astral projection across universes and wow…”
  125. > “What is it?”
  126. “No I’m just realizing I must be totally insane to be able to cope with this as well I have. I mean, I might just be the last living human being in existence. My family, they’re gone now. Same for friends, enemies, acquaintances and people I’ve never met or heard of. I am alone in this world.”
  127. > You just stare off into the vast expanse of space while absorbing the gravity of your own realization.
  128. > “I understand what loneliness feels like.”
  129. > You turn to see nightmare sitting on her haunches beside you.
  130. > “You see,” The look in her eyes tells you how hard it is for her to tell the tale. “Hundreds of years ago when my sister and I controlled the raising and of the sun and moon respectively, all the little ponies in the land flourished under her sun while ignoring my beautiful nights…” She goes on to explain the story of Nightmare Moon to you.
  131. > “Now I don’t even know if I’m real or just the manifestation of Luna’s emotions.”
  132. >She’s on the verge of tears now and pony or not you hate to see a girl cry. So you wrap your arms around her neck and hug her.
  133. > She freezes up at first before her wings wrap around you, returning your embrace.
  134.
  135. End of Chapter 1
