  1. >Well... That was a hell of a night
  2. >You're still pissed at Aria, but she didn't occupy too much of your mind
  3. >No, you were focused on Anon
  4. >You needed to win him back at all costs
  5. >That would be doable
  6. >Maybe...
  7. >Fear flitted through your mind like a shiver
  8. >He wouldn't tell people about your, well, not so little secret
  9. >Would he?
  10. >Even if your heart harbored a love for him, such betrayal would be no good
  11. >You'd have to destroy him then
  12. >But as for now, you only cared to destroy others who'd vie for his heart!
  13. >To be with Anon
  14. >That's what you would do
  15. >Gem or no gem, you could still be persuasive
  16. >A smile crept upon your face
  17. >"Adagio! We're gonna be late! Are you gonna come or what?!"
  18. "Quiet Sonata! I'm plotting here, can't you see?"
  19. >"Oh, sorry. But still, like, we have to go."
  20. "Fine, fine. Let me get ready and we'll head out."
  21. >Sonata gave you two thumbs up and then started dancing to an invisible tune
  22. >Aria was quiet today
  23. >Good
  24. >You cackle to yourself as you put on your backpack
  25. >Oh, that laugh felt good
  26. >Yes, you still had it
  27.
  28. >You spotted Anon by his locker as you entered the school
  29. >He spotted you as well
  30. >The look of revulsion on his face hurt
  31. >You wouldn't approach him yet
  32. >Lunch would work
  33. >And so you bide time
  34. >The inane jabberings of your "teachers" flew past you as the first few classes went on
  35. >You'd heard it all before
  36. >Hell, you were one of the first to hear it
  37. >Cartesian this or that
  38. >You chuckle at the memory it brings up
  39. >That Frenchman was one of the few who didn't care about the way you were
  40. >The horny fuck
  41. >"Now, because of the way we're plotting the—"
  42. >The lunch bell rings
  43. >"Whoop. Okay class, make sure to read up blah blah blah," you didn't care what he was saying
  44. >You make your way to the cafeteria at a mild pace
  45. >Anon was sitting at the same spot he always did
  46. >By himself, being the new guy
  47. "Mind if I sit here?"
  48. >"Yes, actually."
  49. >You sit down anyways
  50. >Anon turns away from you and shudders
  51. "Look, about last night—"
  52. >"We never speak of last night again."
  53. "If we're going to date, then we have to talk about these things."
  54. >"I don't date people with..." his voice becomes a whisper, "...penises. Okay?"
  55. >You cross your arms
  56. "Like you didn't love every second of last night."
  57. >"Up until the dick part, maybe!"
  58. >You growl
  59. >Usually, you'd just let relationships slip past, but not this time
  60.
  61. "Just give us a chance, okay. It felt good for the both of us. I know you've been wanting to go out with me. You're really going to let one little thing get between us?"
  62. >He buries his face in his hands
  63. >You watch Anon as he sits there silently, until finally he looks up at you
  64. >"Ugh, I just can't, Adagio... Not knowing about..."
  65. >He shakes his head
  66. >"I feel like I'm being nicer here than most guys would, okay? So let's just leave it at 'no.'"
  67. >Fuck that
  68. >You didn't want to have to do this
  69. "Fine. You're embarrassed. Grossed out. Whatever. But if you don't continue going out with me, you'll find yourself a lot more embarrassed."
  70. >Anon looks at you with disbelief
  71. >"Are you serious? Blackmail? You'll get just as hurt over your 'secret' getting out as me."
  72. "I don't care. I can handle it. I've been alive for over a thousand years. I can handle a few years of insults."
  73. >"Not to mention you're crazy..."
  74. >You shrug, looking into Anon's eyes pleadingly
  75. "Just give me a chance, Anon."
  76. >He sighs
  77. >"Only because you're threatening me. Don't think I'll enjoy this. Shitty thing to do, Adagio. I'm fine with still being friends."
  78. >Being friends
  79. >No need to get angry over the comment
  80. "I'll show you why you should stick with me, Anon. I've got more than most girls."
  81. >"Like a penis..." he mutters
  82. "What was that?"
  83. >Your voice his a venomous hiss
  84. >"Nothing, nothing! I believe you, sheesh."
  85. >Excellent
  86. >You'll win him over, no problems—
  87. "Why is that rainbow freak heading over here?"
  88. >"Oh God..."
  89.
  90. >"Sup losers."
  91. >Anon shirks from the multicolored jock
  92. >"What do you want, Rainbow Dash?"
  93. >"Why'd you blow me off last night?"
  94. >What?
  95. >Anon shrugs
  96. >"I was... Hanging out with Adagio."
  97. >Rainbow turns her head to you, then laughs
  98. >"Not doing any favors with yourself, Anon. Anyways, gonna take me up on th—"
  99. >"Oh my God, for the last time, I don't want to join your band, or join the soccer team."
  100. >"Fine, whatever, not like I care. See you two losers later. Well, not you," she says, pointing at you.
  101. >She leaves and heads on back to that table with the five other worst humans in existence
  102. >You clenched your fist in anger as the memory of that day surged back
  103. >Not to mention, apparently Anon knows her too!
  104. "So, mind explaining why she thought you were going to join her band?"
  105. >Anon groans
  106. >"I give her one compliment and now she thinks I'm some groupie that wants to just follow her around everywhere."
  107. >You squint at Anon
  108. "You better be telling the truth. Because if I ever catch you with her, or any of the Rainbooms..."
  109. >"Yeah yeah, whatever..."
  110. >He frowns, looking down at his tray
  111. "What's wrong?"
  112. >"Oh, I don't know, I'm being fucking blackmailed into a relationship I don't want to be in. Like I said before, we can just—"
  113. "Finish that sentence. I dare you, Anon. I'd like to see you finish that sentence."
  114. >You punctuate your sentence with a low growl
  115. >Anon continues to frown
  116. "I'll meet you after school, and we can go on just a normal date, and you'll see that this will be a good thing."
  117. >"Sure."
  118. >There's that word again
  119.
  120. >Anon didn't seem particularly happy, but at least he was here with you
  121. >He wouldn't hold hands with you
  122. >But, just being with him made you happier
  123. >A warm, fuzzy feeling on the inside
  124. >So cliche, but true in this case
  125. >Dinner and a movie...
  126. >You'd really have to prove yourself to him
  127. >Easy enough, right?
  128. >Place was a tad fancy, but with centuries of saving the price wasn't too bad
  129. >"I've never been here before... I don't know what to get."
  130. "Don't worry about it."
  131. >A waiter comes up to your table
  132. >"How can i help you two today?"
  133. >Anon opens his mouth to speak
  134. "The two of us will be getting the oysters, please."
  135. >The waiter nods and walks off
  136. >"Oysters? C'mon."
  137. "Aphrodi—"
  138. >"I know," he says deadpan. "Are you at least going to let me pay?"
  139. "If you really want to, but I'd feel compelled to pay you back somehow..."
  140. >You shoot him a sultry smile
  141. >Anon coughs, then gulps
  142. >That was a good sign
  143. >For a while, the two of you sat in relative silent
  144. >Then Anon spoke
  145. >"Why me?"
  146. "What do you mean?"
  147. >"I mean, why all this? Blackmailing me? To date me? I'm just me, Anon. I'm nothing special."
  148.
  149. >Why him?
  150. >You smile, placing a hand on his
  151. "I was in a very low place before you came... You showed me kindness. 'Friendship'," the word felt dirty in your mouth. "It's not something I've experienced much of. Genuinely, at least. I developed feelings for you. Is that so wrong?"
  152. >"No... I don't know. I felt the same way I guess, but the situation is really straining my, uh, opinion of you."
  153. >A frown creeps across your face
  154. "Please, just give me a chance tonight. Just try and think of me as... me."
  155. >Anon gives you a half-smile
  156. "Looks like the foods here."
  157. >A plate of oysters is set down in the center of the table
  158. >You looked Anon in the eyes, biting your lip
  159. >Honestly, you just liked oysters, aphrodisiac or not
  160. >And if Anon didn't like 'em, well, he'd learn to
  161. >You wouldn't let your boyfriend have bad taste
  162. >"Huh, these are actually pretty good."
  163. "That's why I ordered them."
  164. >He eyes you with incredulity
  165. "Okay, part of why I ordered them."
  166. >Anon chuckles
  167. >It's not long before you've both had your fill
  168. >For a while, the two of you talk, well past having paid the tab
  169. >About school
  170. >About things that annoy you
  171. >About the shows you were following
  172. >The kinds of things you usually talked about when hanging out
  173. >Only, this time, things could go a little further than 'shooting the shit with a friend'
  174. >They did last time, so why not again?
  175. >Anon seemed to be enjoying himself
  176. >"Oh shit, we're going to miss the movie. We gotta go."
  177.
  178. >The two of you rush to the theater, turn in your tickets, and buy some popcorn
  179. >Theater #11, that's where you had to do
  180. >Not many people in here
  181. >Wouldn't expect many to be coming to see a horror film in its 4th week
  182. >You nod your head towards the back of the theater
  183. >Anon hesitates
  184. >"I usually, uh, like the middle..."
  185. "Oh, c'mon. This is a date."
  186. >"No funny business."
  187. >You cross your heart
  188. >Little did he know, you were lying!
  189. >He probably knew
  190. >And even so, he followed you to the back
  191. >He squirmed a bit in his seat, gripping the arm rests a little too tight
  192. >You put your hand on his, but he pulls away
  193. >That's fine...
  194. >Anon looks forward as the trailers begins
  195. >"You know, I don't really like horror movies."
  196. "What? Why not?"
  197. >Anon mutters
  198. "What?"
  199. >"I'm a bit of a pussy," he says with a sarcastic tone
  200. >You just smile
  201. >Horror movies reminded you of home, in a way
  202. >That sort of immense terror you used to wreak upon the land
  203. >It was a little bit of escapism from this dull world
  204. >But if Anon was scared of horror, then he'd be wanting to cling to her maybe
  205. >The thought made you laugh
  206. >Anon was already tensing his body, as if in anticipation
  207.
  208. >As the movie progressed, you kept turning your head to Anon
  209. >His eyes were bugged, and the whole of his body tensed
  210. >He hadn't made a single sound during the whole movie
  211. >Really wanted to save face, huh?
  212. >You put your hand on his, and this time he didn't pull away
  213. >He grabbed your hand in his and you felt yourself go flush
  214. >Fingers interlocked, you could feel that 'butterflies in the stomach' feeling
  215. >Could he?
  216. >You hadn't noticed it, but over time Anon had leaned ever closer to you
  217. >With a strong grip on your hand, he leaned his head against yours
  218. >As well as he could against your full head of hair
  219. >So close to you...
  220. >You didn't care much for the movie
  221. >Instead, you turned to look Anon in the face
  222. >You rubbed your thumbs against each other's palms
  223. >Anon's eyes darted from the screen and on to you
  224. >Staring into each other's eyes... It was a strange sensation
  225. >You leaned in and—
  226. >Anon turns his head, your lips planting themselves on his cheek
  227. >You see his eyes, just for a moment, flit to your crotch
  228. >Somberly, you lean back into your chair
  229. >That's... That's okay
  230. >It's okay
  231. >Anon's hand slips away from yours
  232. >You spend the rest of the movie sitting in silence, hands plopped in your lap
  233.
  234. >After the film is over, Anon walks you home
  235. >You don't say much to each other
  236. >There's a little small talk over the movie, sure
  237. >But most of the walk is silent
  238. >"Well, here you are."
  239. "Thanks."
  240. >You stop outside the door
  241. >"I, uh, had a good time and stuff."
  242. >Anon coughed
  243. >You nod
  244. >You thought you'd be angrier
  245. >The night was going rather well, but you sort of expected it to end like this
  246. >Maybe you'd just pull Anon into the apartment and make him like you
  247. >That's how you thought it'd go
  248. >But instead you just felt... dejected
  249. >Things would be fine if you weren't a freak
  250. >Anon looks at you and frowns
  251. >Could he tell how you were feeling?
  252. >You were usually good at hiding those sorts of things
  253. "You can go. I won't tell anyone about what we did... Thanks for humoring me."
  254. >"I really did have a good night, Adagio."
  255. "Sure."
  256. >Anon laughs
  257. >"Oh, so you can say 'sure'?"
  258. >You give a weak laugh
  259. "Goodnight, Anon."
  260. >Turning, you search your pockets for key
  261. >You feel Anon's hand grab your wrist
  262. >There's a tug, and you turn around
  263. >Next thing you know, you feel his lips pressed against yours
  264.
  265. >Your heart flutters
  266. >It almost makes you want to cry
  267. >A few seconds later, it's over
  268. >"Goodnight."
  269. >You stand there, dumbfounded as he leaves
  270. >It takes a few minutes before you finally decide to push your way into the apartment
  271. >Your whole body is electric, giddy
  272. >Things were actually going well!
  273. >Anon... He liked you
  274. >Maybe things would be a little weird, but he was giving you a chance
  275. >You jump with glee, overcome by joy
  276. >"You look like you had a good day," Aria says glumly
  277. "Maybe I did."
  278. >"What? Got Anon to suck your dick?" she says with a smug grin
  279. >You snarl
  280. "Do you always have to be a bitch?"
  281. >"Maybe I'm being a bit bitchy. Don't have to be such a dick about it?"
  282. >Her smile's getting bigger
  283. >You ball your hand up into a fist
  284. "Can you just not do this tonight?"
  285. >"You know, I was doing you a favor before. No guy's gonna like you the way you are. You came out messed up when we were banished. You're just going to get yourself hurt. Again."
  286. >You stomp your foot
  287. "This time is going to be different!"
  288. >Aria shakes her head
  289. >"Right. Just wait. Shit's going to blow up in your face, and you'll come crying to me about it."
  290. >Fucking...
  291. >You grunt and push Aria aside
  292. >Fuck her
  293. >You and Anon were going to be happy
  294. >Couldn't let Aria ruin your day
  295. >She was talking at you, but you didn't listen, resigning yourself to bed
  296.
  297. >Aria snickered at you that morning
  298. >Still going on about your 'problem'
  299. >She didn't care how it made you feel, clearly
  300. >It took a lot of strength to not throttle her to death
  301. >Plus, it didn't matter
  302. >She was wrong
  303. >The first half of the day droned on endlessly as you waited for lunch
  304. >Your heart lifted up as the bell rang
  305. >Quickly, you headed down to your usual spot
  306. >You got there a little bit before Anon
  307. >"So, about last night..."
  308. "Thank you for giving me a chance."
  309. >"Yeah, yeah. I just tried to think about you as you. Adagio. Still felt a bit weird, but..."
  310. >His comment took you aback, just a little
  311. "Weird is better than disgusting, I guess."
  312. >You smile slightly
  313. >Anon nods
  314. >"So, what do you want to do today?"
  315. "Maybe we could hang out at my place."
  316. >Anon coughs and tugs at his collar
  317. >"Eh, I think that might be a bit too much, too soon."
  318. >You pout
  319. "Well, it's not like anything'd happen, necessarily."
  320. >"I just... You have to let me move at my own pace here. I'm trying to be open minded over this. It's not easy."
  321. >You deflate a little and nod
  322. >He was acting like he was doing you a service for looking past your 'equipment'
  323. >He was probably right
  324. >Didn't make you feel any better about it, though
  325. >Your eyes are drawn to an approaching figure
  326. "Why's Rainbow Dash coming over here again?"
  327. >Anon swears
  328.
  329. >Rainbow walks up to the two of you with an obnoxious swagger
  330. >"Heya, Anon."
  331. >He shrugs
  332. "Can you stop annoying us? You're being a pest."
  333. >"Hey, I'm not here to talk to you," she says with an aggravating grin
  334. >Anon rolls his eyes and turns to Rainbow Dash
  335. >"Look, I don't want to hang out. We're not friends."
  336. >"Ouch," she replies sarcastically. "But that's not what I'm here for."
  337. >"Spit it out then. We were having a conversation."
  338. >A shit eating grin creeps across her face
  339. >"I just wanted to ask you a question is all."
  340. >"Is it something dumb?"
  341. >"Hey, I'm just a curious person. So, Anon..."
  342. >She leans in
  343. >"Are you a top or a bottom?"
  344. >Anger flashes across Anon's face
  345. >"What?"
  346. >"Does he put it in your ass?" she says, pointing to you
  347. >Her voice was getting louder and drawing attention
  348. >The hairs on your neck stood up as stray eyes looked on to the scene
  349. >"Well? You know what they say, Anon. Gay's okay. We're all friends here. Just, what's it like taking a dick up your ass as a guy?"
  350. >Anon stands up from his seat, rage seething from his eyes
  351. >"Look, it's not like that! Now just fuck off back to your table, you dyke."
  352. >"Woah, hey. No need for insults."
  353. >Hate bubbles up inside of you, but you didn't want to make this anymore of a scene than it was
  354. "Can you just go away?"
  355. >Rainbow crosses her arms
  356. >"Your boyfriend looks pretty upset, Anon."
  357. >"Do you think you're funny or something?"
  358. >"By the snickers in the crowd, yes."
  359.
  360. >You reach for your neck instinctively
  361. >No gem
  362. >The laughing, the looks from the others in the cafeteria...
  363. >If only you could sing
  364. >Sing a song and make this stop
  365. >You clutch at your neckline and shrink in your seat
  366. >Rainbow smirked, puffing herself up as the other tables chuckled
  367. >"I hear you're packing pretty heavy, big guy," she blurts.
  368. >That stung
  369. >But more than that, you were fucking pissed
  370. >Fuck her
  371. "Go away, or you'll regret it. Final warning."
  372. >Rainbow Dash laughs, nearly doubling over
  373. >"Right. Fine, I'll leave you two butt buddies alone."
  374. >Anon jabs a finger into Rainbow's chest
  375. >"It's not like that!"
  376. >"Fine, fine. Just, do you spit or swallow? I got a million of these."
  377. >Her voice is dripping with smugness
  378. >Anon throws his hands in the air
  379. >"I'm not gay, okay?! J-Just shut up and go back to your table."
  380. >"Pfft, whatever. Being a dude with a boyfriend sounds pretty gay to me. Which isn't a bad thing. I'm a tolerant person, Anon."
  381. >"Adagio's not my boyfriend! I was being blackmailed!"
  382. >His fingers were pointed to you in accusation
  383. "A-Anon? I thought—"
  384. >"Shut up!"
  385.
  386. >The cafeteria was mostly silent, aside from Rainbow Dash laughing to herself
  387. >"Did I touch a nerve?"
  388. >"Fuck you," Anon mutters
  389. >You stand up from your seat, teeth bared
  390. >This wasn't going to happen
  391. >Not like this
  392. >You had a good time last night
  393. >He's just trying to save face
  394. >He doesn't mean it
  395. "Anon—"
  396. >He holds his hand up, turning his face away from you
  397. >"Why did you have to be one of those fucking weirdos? Couldn't you just be a girl? My fucking luck..."
  398. "But I am a girl! I just... Came out wrong."
  399. >Rainbow Dash laughs
  400. >A few others chuckle along with her
  401. "N-Not like that! I mean, when I came over from Equestria!"
  402. >Anon shakes his head and the others laugh
  403. "H-How did you even f-find out about this, you fucking..."
  404. >"Nice one. You wound me. And I don't reveal my sources."
  405. >Then it hit you
  406. "Aria..."
  407. >You've never been so angry in your laugh
  408. >But that would have to wait
  409. >You could get Anon back on your side, surely
  410. >With or without magic, you were still a siren
  411. >Slowly, you walked up to him
  412. "Anon, remember last night? We had such a good time."
  413. >Rainbow Dash continues to laugh, making jokes you don't care to listen to
  414. >You reach out a hand
  415. >He wretches and pulls away from you
  416. >"Don't touch me," Anon says
  417. "Ple—"
  418. >What happened next hurt
  419. >Next thing you knew, you were doubled over on the floor
  420.
  421. >The world was a blur
  422. >You couldn't even hear anything
  423. >For that briefest of moments, it didn't even hurt
  424. >That didn't last long
  425. >You tried to scream, but it came out more of a sob
  426. >Pain
  427. >Your gripped your eye and winced at the touch
  428. >"...the fuck, Anon?!"
  429. >You felt a hand on your arm pulling you up
  430. >"Fuck, sorry Adagio. I... This was just supposed to be some dumb joke. Fuck..."
  431. >Rainbow Dash helped you up to your feet
  432. >It was hard to stand
  433. >Hard to breath
  434. >It felt like your face was on fire
  435. "I... Anon..."
  436. >Anon was standing off to the side, blood on his hands, shaking his head
  437. >The room was dead silent
  438. >Drawing everyone's eyes, it almost felt worse than the pain
  439. >It was hard to see the faces in the crowd
  440. >Anon walked away
  441. >You could see the disgust in his eyes
  442. >Maybe partly at himself
  443. >But mostly at you
  444. >Your looked at your hand
  445. >Blood
  446. >The throbbing in your face got worse
  447. >You could hear teachers approaching
  448. >The people around you dispersed
  449. >You looked down
  450. >More blood
  451. "Th-That's not good..."
  452. >You collapse as the world fades to black
  453.
  454. >You later came to in the nurse's office
  455. >You told them what happened
  456. >Tried to leave out some things...
  457. >Didn't want to get Anon in too much trouble
  458. >Didn't want to cry in front of the nurse
  459. >Look weak
  460. >So you held that in
  461. >Anon's tone
  462. >The fact he'd throw you away so quickly
  463. >That he'd hit you...
  464. >Rainbow Dash was there, as was Sonata
  465. >Rainbow told you she was sorry
  466. >You accepted her apology
  467. >Sonata was crying, scared
  468. >They allowed her to take you home
  469. >"I'm so sorry, Adagio... I wish I could've helped you."
  470. "It's fine Sonata. It's fine. Can we... Not talk about it?"
  471. >Sonata nodded
  472. >The walk home seemed to take forever
  473. >Keeping the thoughts of Anon at bay was hard
  474. >They came on relentlessly
  475. >Even worse were those niggling thoughts of self-doubt and loathing
  476. >Not so niggling right now
  477. >Anon...
  478. >You got what you deserved
  479. >You were defective
  480. >That's not his fault
  481. >Maybe he'd still take you back...
  482. >Why even try
  483. >You fumbled for the keys and opened the door
  484. "Aria?"
  485. >She was crying
  486. >"Adagio... I-I told you this would h-happen."
  487.
  488. >You pushed Sonata away from you, approaching Aria
  489. >Her eyes darted to the floor
  490. >"I... I'm sorry. But I told you, Adagio... This was always going to happen."
  491. >You tried to hold everything back
  492. >The anger
  493. >The tears
  494. >Aria turned to look at you, eye to eye
  495. >You faltered, legs giving way
  496. >Everything came flooding out
  497. >You fell against Aria, digging your head into her chest, propping yourself up against her
  498. >"A-Adagio..."
  499. >You couldn't speak
  500. >Just sob
  501. >Your arms gave way and you fell to the floor on your knees in front of her
  502. >Why?
  503. >Aria was right
  504. >This was always going to happen
  505. >No one could love you
  506. >What was the point
  507. >Aria crouched to the floor and put her arms around you
  508. >They felt like ice against you, but you hadn't the power to push her away
  509. >"I'm sorry, okay!"
  510. >She shook you
  511. >"Talk to me! This isn't the first time this has happened... I just, I just sped it up a little this time. You know? Fuck, c'mon Adagio!"
  512.
  513. "Y-You're right."
  514. >Talking through your exasperated breaths was difficult
  515. >Your voice was barely able to croak out of you
  516. "What's... What's the point... You're right."
  517. >"I just... This was always going to happen! I'm not the bad guy here, right Sonata?"
  518. >Sonata looked away, standing by stoically
  519. >"I did this for you... I—"
  520. "You were right, Aria."
  521. >Right now, you almost felt calm in the realization
  522. >Nobody cared about you
  523. >You'd die in a few measly decades, unloved
  524. >Anon...
  525. >What did it matter
  526. >You should've known the first time he walked out on you this would happen
  527. >Like it always did
  528. >And you couldn't just sing him back to you anymore
  529. >No more tricks or deception
  530. >No, you weren't a siren anymore
  531. >What were you?
  532. >You were worthless
  533. >Tears streamed down your face, but you could breath
  534. >"So... So we're good?"
  535. >You took a deep breath
  536. >They wouldn't care
  537. "I've been thinking about this for a while, but I think I'm going to end this."
  538. >Aria did a double-take
  539. >"What the fuck did you just say?"
  540. "We're going to die now anyways... You were right. I'm never going to find someone who cares about m—"
  541. >"NO. Fuck other people. We're here for you. I..."
  542. "I'm a freak. Who could love me? Over a thousand years and there's no one. We're not immortal anymore, so why not just end it sooner?"
  543. >Aria shook you, forcing you too look her in the eye
  544. >"That's the stupidest pile of bullshit I've ever heard! Fuck, Adagio! Wh-What about... What about m-me? What if I care about you, huh?"
  545.
  546. "What?"
  547. >Your voice was hardly a whisper
  548. >"I... I did this for you, Adagio. I... You, you always go and hurt yourself over this shit... But what about me? I... I did this for you. I l-love you... Always."
  549. "Love..."
  550. >You looked into her eyes
  551. >She wasn't lying
  552. >You could see it
  553. >Aria loved you
  554. >And you could feel nothing but...
  555. >Hate
  556. >A quiet rage, echoing silently through the whole of your body
  557. >Aria recoiled as you laughed
  558. >It was a maddened laugh
  559. >All this
  560. >Because she 'loved' you
  561. >She'd drive you to the edge of the abyss for 'love'
  562. >You looked her deep into the eyes
  563. >"Adagio... I'm sorry. I love you."
  564. >That word again
  565. "And I hate you."
  566. >Your words were soft, but vile
  567. >It felt good to watch her face drop
  568. >You didn't notice, but you were trembling
  569. >Crying
  570. >Aria pushed yo to the ground and stood up above you
  571. >"WELL GO FUCK YOURSELF THEN! KEEP ON CHASING FUCKS WHO'LL JUST HURT YOU IN THE E—"
  572. >A loud smack rang out in the apartment
  573. >Aria went careening back as Sonata's fist connected with Aria's face
  574. >"Aria... You... YOU'RE THE WORST!"
  575.
  576. "S-Sonata?"
  577. >The sound of that punch resonated through your body, startling you
  578. >"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT FOR?!" Aria yelled. "YOU'RE SUCH A FUCKING IDIOT, SONATA!"
  579. >Her shrieks cut through the air
  580. >Blood was running down her nose
  581. >She held a hand up to her face, trying to stem the bleeding
  582. >Sonata stomped her foot on the floor, crying
  583. >"You... You can't just treat Adagio like that! If you really cared about either of us, y-you wouldn't have made fun of us every day for a thousand years!"
  584. >Aria spat blood and growled
  585. >"Go fuck yourself! Both of you! Fuck both of you! I'M TRYING TO HELP! I'M THE ONLY SANE ONE HERE!"
  586. >Aria's voice was becoming hysterical, her breathing hyperventilated
  587. >"You think what I did was bad?! Really?! You, Sonata, you wouldn't have lasted a fucking week without me when we first got here!"
  588. >You slowly pick yourself up off the floor, ignoring Aria's rant
  589. >What was it you were even feeling now?
  590. >Anger? Sadness? Annoyance for sure
  591. >Aria's antics were almost making your forget about the pain in your eye
  592. "Just shut up, Aria. Let's just all c-calm down."
  593. >She points a finger at you, wavering with uncontrolled anger
  594. >"YOU CAN'T STOP FUCKING MOPING ABOUT YOUR FUCKING DICK. WELL TOO FUCKING BAD. I'M THE ONLY ONE HERE WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT ANYONE OTHER THAN THEMSELVES! BOTH YOU FUC—"
  595. >Another smack rang out through the apartment
  596. >Aria crashed onto the floor on her rear, Sonata standing over her with fist extended
  597. >"THAT'S IT!"
  598.
  599. >Aria shoves herself off the floor and tackles Sonata
  600. >Both of them hit the ground with a loud thump
  601. >Sonata, on her back, brings her arms over her face as Aria straddles her
  602. "Get off of her!"
  603. >You rush over to the two of them as Aria begins pounding at Sonata's head with her fists
  604. >The room is filled with screaming, shouting, and the sound of flesh pummeling flesh
  605. >You wrap your arms under Aria's, trying to pull her off
  606. >"LET GO OF ME!" she shouts, squirming in your grip
  607. >With all the force you can muster, you pull
  608. >Aria tries to resist, flailing on top of a sobbing and bruised Sonata
  609. >Eventually you pull her off, both of you falling to the floor
  610. "Will you fucking quit!"
  611. >"LET GO YOU FUCKING FREAK!" Aria screams through tears
  612. >The two of you roll around on the floor, Aria doing everything in her power to try and hit you
  613. >You find yourself on top of her and pin her arms to the ground
  614. >Aria struggles
  615. "JUST STOP!"
  616. >Aria wails, trying to break free
  617. >Your nails dig into her wrists
  618. >Her body goes limp in defeat, and Aria falls silent
  619. >For a while, only your heavy breathing and Sonata's cries are heard
  620. >Then, a whimper
  621. >Aria sobs beneath you
  622. >Whispering "why?" to herself over and over
  623. >"Why can't you just feel the way I do?"
  624. >You growl
  625. "You fucking brat."
  626.
  627. >Fuck this
  628. >Fuck Aria
  629. >When you let go of her wrists, she doesn't move
  630. >She just continues to cry on the floor, blood running down her nose
  631. >You can't help but shake your head as you look down on her
  632. >Your body is shaking
  633. >Breathing is shaky, too
  634. >You turn to Sonata, gasping
  635. >Immediately, you kneel by her side
  636. >Aria really did a number on her...
  637. >You wrap your arms around her and help her to her feet
  638. >Sonata leans against you as she tries to gain her balance
  639. "Are you—"
  640. >"I'm fine, Adagio..." she says with an intense frown
  641. >She's crying, but you can tell she's holding back tears of another sort
  642. >Sonata pulls you into a tight embrace
  643. >You return the hug in kind, and you feel her pat you on the back
  644. >"I'm sorry people are so mean to you... But it's okay."
  645. >She breaks the hug and stares down at Aria
  646. >Aria coughs, shimmying into a sitting position against a nearby counter
  647. >She breaks eye contact with Sonata, staring down at the floor as she sniffles
  648. >Sonata stands silently, staring
  649. >"Leave me alone," Aria says
  650. >"You know... I'm not mad at you. Just sad. Disappointed. W-We're supposed to be friends. Friends don't fight! This isn't how things are supposed to be!"
  651. >Sonata's voice quavers, barely holding together
  652.
  653. >"I... It... It's hard enough being stuck here without all this dumb stuff! We're supposed to help each other!"
  654. >You turn away from Sonata as she eyes both you and Aria
  655. >"Both of you. Both of you are always so sad or mean, all the time, and it just sucks! I can handle it when it's one me. Maybe it makes you guys feel better to always make fun of me. So that's okay."
  656. "Sonata..."
  657. >Her voice cracks and she seems to sway a bit on the spot, grabbing at her head
  658. >"B-But this is all too much! We shouldn't be hurting each other like this! Things are hard now... We don't have any more magic.. But we should be helping each other more than ever, not this! I thought we were supposed to be in this together... Friends!"
  659. >Both you and Aria are silent
  660. >Her words dug under your skin
  661. >You looked over to Aria who was trying to hide the fact that she was crying
  662. >Sonata rubbed at her forehead
  663. >"S-So can we... All just..."
  664. >Suddenly, she falters, as if tripping in place
  665. >Sonata lurches forward and heaves
  666. >She falls to the floor
  667. "Sonata?!"
  668. >You hurry down beside her, tapping on her face
  669. >Aria scurries to your side and the two of you shake her
  670. >Nothing
  671. "SONATA?!"
  672. >"Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck! What happened?! I"m sorry, please!"
  673.
  674. >You feel around Sonata's neck
  675. >C'mon, c'mon...
  676. >There's a pulse
  677. >She's breathing, too
  678. >But it's very low
  679. >"Oh fuck! Sonata, I didn't mean it!"
  680. "Aria..."
  681. >You grit your teeth
  682. "...You ruin everything. Fucking useless."
  683. >Aria was shaking Sonata, trying to wake her up
  684. >"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean for any of this. I just..."
  685. "I don't want to hear it. Call for an ambulance."
  686. >Aria wiped at her eyes and nodded
  687. >You held Sonata in your arms
  688. >Her face was bruised badly
  689. >Every now and then a soft whimper would escape her lips
  690. >"Do you think she'll be okay, Adagio?"
  691. >You didn't say anything
  692. >Aria awkwardly extended a hand, holding her fingers against your forearm
  693. >You swat her away
  694. >It took everything you had not to jump her then and there
  695. >Give her a taste of her own medicine
  696. >"I'm sorry. Please, will you just know that? Please Adagio."
  697. "I regret ever taking you in. Just know that."
  698. >Aria's eyes hit the floor
  699. >The two of you sat at Sonata's side until the ambulance arrived
  700.
  701. >Sonata was placed in a room within the nearby hospital
  702. >It took some convincing, but the doctors allowed you and Aria to stay by her bedside
  703. >No other family and all that
  704. >You stayed with Sonata until she awoke
  705. >"Adagio? Aria?"
  706. >"Sonata! I'm sorry, please, I'm sorry," Aria said, pulling Sonata into a hug
  707. >Sonata looked around, taking in her environment
  708. >Shock and panic crept across her face
  709. >"A-Am I okay?"
  710. "You'll be fine. They said it was a concussion. A bad one, but... You should get over it with some rest."
  711. >"My head hurts..."
  712. >"I didn't mean to hurt you, Sonata. I'm sorry."
  713. >Sonata returned Aria's hug
  714. >"It's okay. I know. I love you guys. It's fine, really."
  715. >"It's not. I'm going to make this up to you. To both of you."
  716. >Aria nodded with a sort of self-affirming conviction
  717. >"I fucked up."
  718. "You can say that again."
  719. >"You don't have to rub it in."
  720. >You open up your mouth to retort, but...
  721. >Sonata wouldn't want that
  722. >There'd be a truce
  723. >For now
  724. >And so you sat in silence
  725.
  726. >"Do you guys remember when we first found each other?" Sonata asked. "I liked things back then. We didn't fight so much."
  727. >You nod
  728. "Didn't last long before that bearded fuck banished us here..."
  729. >Sonata sighed, playing with the tube running into her wrist
  730. >"Yeah... But you guys were a lot nicer to each other back then. And to me, not that that matters. We were like a family almost. And you, you weren't so grumpy all the time, Aria."
  731. >Aria scoffs and crosses her arms
  732. >"I always had a bit of a misanthropic streak."
  733. "Oh, like that's a good thing."
  734. >Aria holds a hand against her chest, oozing with sarcasm
  735. >"But Adagio, it's part of who I am!"
  736. >You all chuckle
  737. >You cut yourself short
  738. >Wouldn't let some downtime push all the shit Aria'd just pulled aside
  739. >You were still mad
  740. >Eventually, Sonata was allowed to leave
  741. >She cheered as they strolled her out in a wheelchair
  742. >A steady diet of painkillers and sleep was on the menu for her for the next few weeks
  743. >You'd try and help her whenever she needed it
  744. >And made sure to give Aria the cold shoulder
  745. >Then it arrived in the mail
  746. >The bill
  747. "How the fuck are we going to pay for this."
  748.
  749. >You wrangled Aria into the living room as Sonata slept
  750. "How do you expect us to pay for this?"
  751. >You shove the bill in her face
  752. >"Hey, personal space!"
  753. "Sonata's bill. We can't just waltz in and sing this away. We actually have to pay for shit now. This is your problem."
  754. >Aria's eyes bulge as she spots the total you'd been expected to pay
  755. >"But... They didn't even do anything! 'Go home and rest and stuff' isn't worth this!"
  756. "That doesn't matter. You always fuck everything up, Aria."
  757. >You curse and begin pacing
  758. >You couldn't even look her in the eye
  759. >The only thing that even made her tolerable was the knowledge that it was making Sonata happy
  760. >You watched as Aria's energy fled her body, just as it always did these days when you talked to her
  761. >Throwing little pity parties for herself
  762. >Mumbling about why you couldn't just love her or some other shit
  763. >Selfish fuck
  764. >"I know. I know."
  765. >Aria stared at the paper in her hands and sighed
  766. >"I don't know how we're going to do this."
  767. "That's not helping."
  768. >Aria shrugs and throws her hands up
  769. >"Well fuck, I thought it was a great idea! Look, I don't know. I'm not going to know! W-We can't get this kind of money. As far as the world is concerned, we're teenage girls. Minimum wage jobs aren't going to get us anywhere."
  770. "Great."
  771. >"I'm sorry, okay? How many times do I have to say that?"
  772.
  773. >You shake your head
  774. >Not enough times for your liking
  775. >It probably wouldn't be possible
  776. >"Remember when we lived in the brothel? Back in England?"
  777. >You stopped pacing
  778. "Are you being serious? We might as well just leave and find a new place to live."
  779. >"But we don't have a new place to live. We have this place. It's a miracle we can even pay the fucking rent. We don't have magic anymore. Leaving this would probably end up fucking us over even more," she said with a defeated tone
  780. >Aria sat slumped on the couch
  781. >"It's not like I have great memories of that, you know? It's just an idea..."
  782. "It's an illegal idea."
  783. >"Okay, so what's your master plan, huh?"
  784. >You snort
  785. "I don't know. Maybe not beating Sonata to a pulp and putting her in the hospital is my plan! Maybe you could've just beat yourself over the head with a bat instead."
  786. >You give Aria a spite-fueled smile
  787. >She shrinks into her seat, tears welling in her eyes
  788. >Biting into her lip, she swallows
  789. >Aria turns her head up to you looking utterly hopeless
  790. >"You know, I never cared about your—"
  791. "Don't. Don't talk about it."
  792. >You wince
  793. >You'd liked not having thought about... that... for a while
  794. >"You've always been Adagio to me. That's all."
  795. "You think that's going to make up for anything?"
  796. >"No. No, I don't." Aria sighed. "I don't have any other ideas."
  797. >You grunted
  798. >You didn't have any ideas either
  799.
  800. >Over the next few days, you tried to think of alternatives
  801. >You'd run into the same two walls every time
  802. >You were a teenage girl for all intents and purposes
  803. >It didn't matter if you were educated enough
  804. >You needed an actual degree these days
  805. >The backwards priorities of modernity irked you
  806. >Then, your other ideas involved singing
  807. >You couldn't do that anymore
  808. >It was hard not to think as though you still had the gem
  809. >Sonata was still mostly bed ridden
  810. >Aria had taken to cooking her breakfast in bed
  811. >Chatting with her
  812. >A bunch of bullshit false fronts to try and make up for her fuck up
  813. >Maybe it was genuine
  814. >You doubted it
  815. >"It'll probably be okay to miss the first due date on the bill, but after that..."
  816. "I know, Aria."
  817. >"Have you thought of anything else we could do?"
  818. >You shook your head
  819. >"Me neither..."
  820. >Fuck
  821. "How do we even do this? Prostitution is illegal now."
  822. >"Craigslist."
  823. "Seriously?"
  824. >"Yes."
  825. >Great
  826.
  827. >Setting up your 'ads' made you physically gag
  828. >Not-so-secret code words to imply that, yes, you would be an escort
  829. >Yes, you were someone's fetish...
  830. >You wish you didn't have to put that in
  831. >But showing up to one of these things and having the guy find out there?
  832. >You sort of liked being alive, for as much as that was worth these days
  833. >Aria's page was a lot simpler to set up
  834. >More money for her, too
  835. >It didn't take long for either of them to get replies
  836. "Remember to always have your phone on you."
  837. >Aria sighed
  838. >"I know, Adagio."
  839. >She crossed her arms and looked into your eyes solemnly
  840. >This was her fault
  841. >Even she didn't deserve the things they'd have to do
  842. >"I'm sorry."
  843. >You turned from her
  844. "I'll see you later tonight. Or maybe in the morning..."
  845. >Aria nodded
  846. >You headed out onto the night streets
  847. >Heading off to some rundown shithole in a bad part of town
  848. >At least it wasn't 'the' bad part of town
  849. >Maybe the guy would take you inside, set you down, and just hand you the money
  850. >A little kindness from the bottom of his heart to someone in trouble
  851. >Ha
  852.
  853. >The house might better be called a shack
  854. >Fuck, the garage was bigger than the house connected to it
  855. >Something told you the house wasn't always this shade of off-yellow, either
  856. >A subtle, stagnant stale odor wafted from the place as you approached
  857. >You nervously looked off into the darkness at your sides as you walked up the stairs to the front door
  858. >The door creaked open
  859. >"C'mon in," the man whispered with a smile
  860. >You smiled back and timidly entered
  861. >The guy was portly, pudgy
  862. >His smell wasn't quite off, but it stung your nose
  863. >The money in his hand was attractive enough
  864. >This wouldn't be like the brothel
  865. >No 'be fun, be flirty'
  866. >Just the work, mostly
  867. >You didn't think word-of-mouth mattered too much in this day and age
  868. >The door closed behind you, enclosing in this small house
  869. >You could see every inch of it from where you stood
  870. >Not very clean, not quite a pigsty
  871. >Card table crammed in the center of the kitchen, cluttered with papers and drawings that surrounded a solitary laptop
  872. >The rest of the house was mostly just boxes filled with what seemed to be junk
  873. >A dirtied mattress lay on the floor
  874. >No sheets, no covering
  875. >"It's not much, I know. Don't have much."
  876. "That doesn't really matter as long as you have the money."
  877. >"Now that I do have," he said chuckling, pulling the bill taut between his hands
  878.
  879. >You reach out for it
  880. >He pulls away
  881. >"Woah! That is not how this works," he says incredulously
  882. "You expect me to do this without getting paid upfront?"
  883. >He snorts
  884. >"Think I don't know that one? Cops take the money first. Not that we're doing anything illegal."
  885. "Fuck, whatever..."
  886. >You shrug
  887. >Not getting the money first was tenuous
  888. >But beggars couldn't be choosers...
  889. >The man bit his lower lip and eyed you up and down
  890. >You squirmed under his gaze
  891. >"So, you really a..?"
  892. >You nod
  893. >"I'm gonna have to see it to believe it, 'cause that I do not believe."
  894. >He chortled
  895. >It sounded like a wheezing ass
  896. >You jumped a little as he grabbed a firm hold of your arm, pulling you closer to him
  897. >His other hand groped at your crotch and you winced
  898. >You shrunk in his grasp, but tried your best not to recoil
  899. >He laughed again
  900. >"Damn. You're pretty convincing, you know that?"
  901. >His hands reach for your backside and he pulls you in against him
  902. >That unwashed smell was a lot stronger now
  903. >You let your head go limp as he grasps your face in one of his hands, aiming your face to his
  904. >"Let's get this show on the road, huh?" he says, smiling from the corner of his mouth
  905. >You smile and nod glumly
  906. "Yeah."
  907.
  908. >He motions to the mattress on the floor
  909. >You try not to pay mind to the stains that pock the surface
  910. >They almost look like rust stains...
  911. >You both stop at the foot of the bed
  912. >"Well? Are you gonna take it off, or do you want me to do that? Is that extra?"
  913. "Y-Yeah. It's extra."
  914. >He stands there for a bit, looking off into space
  915. >"Fuck, I would, but I'm spending rent money on you as it is." He grins, and cocks his head. "Money well spent from the look of things so far."
  916. >You smile and laugh along with him
  917. >"Well, c'mon. Get it off."
  918. >You nod dully
  919. >He undoes the belt in his shorts as you take off your shirt
  920. >You throw your shirt to the floor
  921. >His shorts hit the ground
  922. >You shimmy out of your skirt and panties
  923. >"Well ho-lee shit."
  924. >Your whole body groans as he grasps your cock
  925. >The only guys who'd fuck you, it seemed, only cared about one thing
  926. >It felt like your body was coated in slime
  927. >Forcefully, he pushed you down onto the mattress face first
  928. >You could feel him prod at your rear's entrance
  929. >The sound of a bottle being opened was quickly followed by the spurting of liquid
  930. >"Almost forgot."
  931. >He laughed again
  932. "D-Do you think we could leave my... you know... out of this?"
  933. >The hands on your back pushed down harder
  934. >"Are you serious?
  935.
  936. "I-I just—"
  937. >"You're here for a reason. You want to get paid or what?"
  938. >You didn't respond
  939. >"Let's just enjoy this, okay? You seem like a nice enough girl. How about we do it like this..."
  940. >He flips you around on the bed to face him
  941. >His skin hung from his body in lobes
  942. >Sweat was already running through the crevices in the folds in his neck
  943. >He grinned
  944. >You looked away, but a hand brought you back to face him
  945. >"I know we ain't supposed to say names, but I'll pay you double if you say my name. Act like we're a thing, you know?"
  946. >You try to look away and shut your eyes
  947. >He grunts angrily
  948. "I-I don't know about—"
  949. >His grip on you tightens ever so slightly
  950. >"Or maybe we can just do this and you don't get paid."
  951. >His voice was unsteady
  952. >A threat of desperation
  953. >He probably wouldn't act on it
  954. >Maybe he would
  955. >Maybe was enough...
  956. "O-Okay."
  957. >"Jon."
  958. "Okay... Jon."
  959. >You squirmed underneath him
  960. >You'd get paid
  961. >You'd get paid...
  962.
  963. >He thrusts forward
  964. >You gasp as he enters you
  965. >The feeling of his sweat-encrusted skin rubbing across yours wasn't pleasant
  966. >"Nugh~"
  967. >His groans were especially airy and shrill for a man of his stature
  968. >Like a broken chew toy
  969. >He thrusted deeper and deeper into you
  970. >It was hard to enjoy it, but you had to try
  971. >Couldn't just lie there like a fish
  972. >Every muscle in your body fought against you as you gyrated against him
  973. >"Say my name."
  974. "J-Jon."
  975. >He grunted with dissatisfaction
  976. "Jon~"
  977. >You wanted to vomit
  978. >He leaned on top of you, holding your face in his hands
  979. >Sloppily, he kissed you
  980. >His open mouth slobbered against your lips
  981. >You squirmed
  982. >"C'mon, open up!"
  983. >Hesitantly, you parted your lips
  984. >At that moment, his saliva-coated tongue darted its way into your mouth
  985. >It writhed like a caged animal
  986. "Mmf~"
  987. >He picked up speed, a hand making it way down to your crotch
  988. >His hand began to pump your cock
  989. >Instinctually, you tried to push him off
  990. >"You're making this harder than it has to be..."
  991. "C-Can we just leave it alone?"
  992. >You ask politely
  993.
  994. >You yelp as his hand constricts against your cock
  995. >He stops thrusting, lodged inside you
  996. >"Look." He stares into your eyes, his smile not feeling as authentic as before. "I like you. But you're here for a reason. Okay?"
  997. "B-But maybe we can just—Y-You're hurting me!"
  998. >He pushes you hard into the mattress with the fullness of his weight
  999. >"I want to be nice. Let's do that, okay?"
1000. >His voice is low and cold
  1001. >It chills you
  1002. >You nod slowly
1003. >He rubs at your shaft
1004. >The squirming is weaker than before
1005. >You try not to cry
1006. >Maybe you've already lost out on the money...
1007. "A-Are you still going to pay me after this?"
1008. >"Be a good girl, and yeah, of course. I'm a nice guy."
  1009. >He smiles and laughs
  1010. "I'm sure you are..."
1011. >"Just call me Jon and we'll be awesome," he says as he rubs his hand along your shaft
1012. >His thrusting begins again, though starting slowly
  1013. "Oh, J-Jon~"
1014. >His grunting fills the air with its wispy wheeze
1015. >He smashes his face against yours, devouring your mouth
1016. >You open up and let his tongue spasm against yours
1017. >Every pump of your shaft seems to try and force tears out of you
  1018. >You hold them back
  1019.
1020. >Your heart quickened in your chest, trying to find its way out
1021. >Not out of pleasure, but anxiety and fear
1022. >Why couldn't he just stop touching your...
1023. >You didn't even want to think the word
1024. >You let your mind wander away
1025. >Thinking about what you were doing would only fuck things up
  1026. >Wallowing could come later
  1027. >You needed the money
1028. >His dry moans wormed their way into your ears, his saliva running down the sides of your face
  1029. >He reared back
  1030. >"I'm gonna cum!"
1031. >He pulled out of you and began masturbating over you fervently
  1032. >"FUCK!"
1033. >His squealing grunts rang through the air as he ejaculated
1034. >Jism sputtered from his cock and onto yours
1035. >He licked his lips all the while, moaning in delight as he sullied you
1036. >"Whoo! Damn." He clapped his hands together. "Good for me. How 'bout you?"
  1037. "G-Great..."
1038. >You could barely force the words out
1039. >You wanted to rip your skin off and burn it
1040. >"I'll pay you double if you lick that off your fingers," he says, pointing at your crotch
1041. "I thought you were already paying me double."
  1042. >"I changed my mind."
  1043. >You nod
  1044. >You needed the money
  1045.
1046. >Taking your finger, you wiped up a gob of his... semen
1047. >You brought it to your mouth and tried to hide your gagging
1048. >In one fell swoop, you popped your finger into your mouth and swallowed
1049. >Tears fell down your face as your fought the urge to heave
1050. >You repeated this until you were done
1051. >"That wasn't so bad, was it?" Jon says, grinning
  1052. "It was great."
  1053. >You try to smile
1054. "Are you going to pay me now?"
  1055. >"What's the rush?"
1056. >You shimmy up the mattress a little and start getting to your feet
  1057. >You can't
  1058. >You're stuck under him
1059. "I-It's extra for extra sessions."
1060. >"I don't know. It seemed like we both enjoyed ourselves. Maybe you should be paying me?"
1061. >You stiffen and droop your head
1062. >"I'm kidding. But the night's long. We can do a little more, don't you think?"
1063. >Jon smiles, almost coy, almost doting
1064. "I... I have to go home. I just need the money."
1065. >You gulp and try to move
1066. >He has you firmly planted under him
  1067. >"Something important?"
  1068. "Y-Yeah. Taking care of a sister..."
  1069. >"I'm sure she won't mind a little bit of a wait."
1070. >You look to your clothes in a pile nearby
1071. "M-Maybe I can just text her that it'll be a bit, then. So she doesn't get worried."
1072. >You reach your arm out for your clothes
  1073. >He stops you
1074. >"We don't need to do that, do we?"
  1075. >Jon smiles
