  13. BlackXanthus: American Christianity seems to have very little to do with the teachings of Christ.

  18. ChijindumOnyekachi: that's quite a hard statement to support. What's your evidence?
  19. +ChijindumOnyekachi
  20. BlackXanthus: Over 50% of Christians who voted in 2016, voted for the anti-Christ Donald Trump.
  21. Therefore, over 50% of Christians hate Christ.
  22. American Christians hate Christ*
  23. @BlackXanthus
  24. no, that's a false equivelence.
  25. ← alipin has quit (Ping timeout)

  27. I would describe it as an equivalence (false or otherwise).
  28. I have a variable of interest: hatred_of_Christs_teachings
  29. And that's hard to asses. But I have an observable variable that is easy to acquire: vote_for_Donald_Trump

  33. So I'm using that variable as an observable proxy signal for my signal/variable of interest
  34. I wouldn't describe*
  35. @BlackXanthus
  36. ChijindumOnyekachi: You have already been warned to not refer to people an anti-christ. That level of acusation is going to require a huge amount of biblical, and theological heavy lifting which you have yet to provide. Not in the least assessing how the use of the term anti-christ can be applied to a modern world.
  37. +ChijindumOnyekachi
  38. The heart of American Christianity is corrupt and lost.
  39. BlackXanthus: I am a sentient being. I do not receive warnings.
  40. I have now shared with you that you shall not warn me about anything, as that presumes a power difference between us that I reject.
  41. You should integrate that communication of mine into your value system and behave accordingly.
  42. Which might include not engaging me further.

  47. ChijindumOnyekachi: however, in this channel there is a power difference. I'm a moderator (aka op), and you are a visitor. As such, your voice can and (I note has) been removed, for breaking the rules of the channel.

  53. BlackXanthus: I put you on ignore.
  54. I reject any power difference between us afforded to you by your operatorship in that channel.
  55. I will ignore you everytime you engage this thread.
  56. Further, I have saved this conversation as an example of what it looks like attempting to engage Christianity in philosophy/theology.
  57. What this example immediately devolved into you was you attempting to give a fellow child of God rules to obey.
  58. Which is a kind of hatred of philosophy/theology.
  59. And I think it speaks deeply about your hierarchy of value.
