[Background] Record of Life

####### was born to Melody ######### and Drake ######### in Mountainview City at some point before the barrier broke. Growing up, ####### found himself seeking validation from his parents, peers, and teachers. This took the form of following instructions to the letter, being praised as a prodigy as a result. Constant test scores of 100, the perfect doing of any given task, chores without a single shortcut taken...you name it, ####### would do it without fail. This behavior continued until he turned 10 when he was given his first significant "choice": Choose what school he wished to go to. Given his prodigy status, ####### was deemed "too smart" for his current school and was given the option of attending a private school on a full-ride scholarship. His parents, not wanting to squander his growth nor force him to do something he didn't want to, allowed him to make the choice on his own. ####### broke down into screaming...then tears...then scratching at his own skin. He understood the weight of "choice" for the first time and was changed because of it. #######'s parents ended up choosing for him, allowing him to stay at his current school. While he was "normal" on the outside, on the inside, he began to ponder: 'What if I had chosen wrong? What if my choice hurt others? How do other people feel about choice? Is it right for people to choose? ...Would everyone be better off without a choice?'. This line of thinking eventually brought him away from his childhood home and into the Deep Woods at Age 12. Finding a simple black portal, ####### wondered if what he thought was right...and then disappeared into the portal to supposedly never be seen again.
