  “These horses read books!” Seth announced, coming down the aisle between the stalls. Kendra recognized the dwarf at his heels as Obun.

  “I figured that out,” Kendra said.

  “Have you seen the griffins?” Seth asked.

  “Not yet,” Kendra said. “I was choosing my horse.”

  “We get to pick?” Seth asked.

  “We’re the caretakers,” Kendra reminded him.
