Kaname: Ahhh~, the weekend finally starts tomorrow. All the student council work and everything else has really made this week drag on.

「そういえば、ソースケ。
あんた週末はまた任務でどっか行くんだっけ?」
Kaname: Speaking of, are you going on another mission this weekend, Sousuke?

宗介
「肯定だ」
Sousuke: Affirmative.

かなめ
「…仕方ないのはわかってるけど、
あんたも学校に通ってるんだったら、
もうちょっと出席日数なんとかしなさいよ」
Kaname: ...I know you can’t really do anything about it, but if you’re gonna go to school, you should really start trying to keep up your attendance.

かなめ
「任務で外国に行っていたので間に合いませんでした、
なんて正直に言えるわけないんだからさ」
Kaname: I mean it’s not like you can just outright tell them you missed because you were on a mission outside the country.

宗介
「その問題については理解している。
ただ、おそらく今回においてその心配はない」
Sousuke: I’m aware of the problem. However, that may not be a concern this time.

かなめ
「ん?ってことは今回の任務って近い場所なわけ?
あたしはてっきり、また聞き覚えのない
どこかの国にでも行くものかと…」
Kaname: Hm? So you mean your mission’s taking place somewhere close by this time? Based on past experiences I just assumed you’d be off in God-knows-where.

宗介
「詳細は言えないが、
そう遠くはない場所だ」
Sousuke: I’m not at liberty to share the details, but I can say that it isn’t far from here.

「ふーん、遠くない場所ねぇ…」
Kaname: Hmm, not far from here, huh...?

「いよいよ今日ですな」
Dr. Sakonji: The day’s finally come.

浜口博士
「うむ。提案を受けていた例の件も
なんとか準備が間に合って良かった」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Yes. It’s a good thing we were able to finish preparations for the proposal we received in time.

健一
「トレーニング、終了しました」
Kenichi: Our training is complete.

一平
「今日はいつもより早く
切り上げになって助かるぜ」
Ippei: Nice to have a shorter session than usual for once.

左近寺博士
「そんなことで喜んでいてどうする。
今日はお前達に楽をさせるために
トレーニングの量を減らしたわけではないぞ」
Dr. Sakonji: You might not want to be so cheerful about that. Your training wasn’t cut short today just to make things easier on you.

健一
「わかっています。
なぜなら今日は…」
Kenichi: Yeah, I know. Because today...

(An alarm goes off.)

「ないが起きた!?」
Daijiro: What’s going on!?

所員
「ファルコン南方に接近する機体複数あり!
これは…[アーム・スレイブ]!サベージです!」
Staff Worker: Multiple units approaching from the south of the Falcon! They’re...[Arm Slaves]! Savages!

左近寺博士
「どこの所属だ?」
Dr. Sakonji: Who are they with?

所員
「問い掛けていますが、返答はありません!」
Staff Worker: We’ve been hailing them, but they haven’t responded!

日吉
「こ、攻撃してきた!?」
Hiroshi: A-Are they attacking us!?

浜口博士
「問答無用で、
ファルコンに攻撃を仕掛けてくるとは…」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Yes, there’s no doubt that they’re here to attack the Falcon...

左近寺博士
「奴らの目的は
我々が保有している技術の奪取か、
あるいはここの破壊でしょうな」
Dr. Sakonji: Then they either want to take possession of the technology we have here, or they want to see it destroyed.

浜口博士
「ボルテスチーム、緊急出撃!
ビッグファルコンを防衛するのだ!」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Voltes Team, emergency launch! Protect the Blue Falcon!

「了解!」

『オーバー・テクノロジカル・マシーン』
Episode 1
Over Technological Machine


(Scene starts on the map screen of the Blue Falcon island. Voltes V appears. Enemy Savages are on the map.)

めぐみ
「地球人が一致団結して
ボアザンに立ち向かわなきゃならないって時に…!」
Megumi: Earthlings should be fighting together against the Boazanians at a time like this, but they...!

一平
「だからこそ、仕掛けてくるんだろ、
ああいう連中はよ」
Ippei: That’s probably why these guys think it’s a good time to attack us.

健一
「俺たちのビッグファルコンに手出しはさせない!
いくぞ、みんな!」
Kenichi: We won’t let them lay a finger on Big Falcon! Let’s go, guys!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

「今んで最後か?」
Daijiro: Is that all of them?

日吉
「そうだといいんだけど…」
Hiroshi: I sure hope so...

左近寺博士
「まだだ!
ファルコンの北側に新たな反応があった!
そちらにも敵がいる!」
Dr. Sakonji: You’re not done yet! There are new readings to the north of the Falcon! There are enemies in that direction too!

(Multiple Savages appear.)

一平
「チッ、あんな所に潜んでいやがったか…!」
Ippei: Tch, they were lying in wait, huh...!


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up where it left off.)

「兄さん、いかん!
こん場所から撃てば、ビッグファルコンに
当たってしまう!」
Daijiro: Wait, Kenichi! If we fire at them from here, we’ll hit the Big Falcon!

健一
「くっ、奴らが…!」
Kenichi: Agh, damn them...!

めぐみ
「まだ基地の防衛設備で持ち堪えられるはずよ!
急ぎましょう、健一!」
Megumi: The base’s defense systems should be able to hold them off! Let’s hurry, Kenichi!

(One of the Savages is destroyed.)

一平
「なに!?」
Ippei: What was that!?

日吉
「サベージが…!一体誰が!?」
Hiroshi: That Savage was just taken out...! Who the heck did that!?

(Sousuke, Mao, and Kurz appear.)

宗介
「間に合ったようだな」
Sousuke: Looks like we made it in time.

健一
「あの[AS]は…!」
Kenichi: Those are ASes...!

浜口博士
「む…これは…」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Hm... They must be...

テッサ
「こちらトゥアハー・デ・ダナンの
テレサ・テスタロッサ大佐です」
Tessa: This is Captain Teletha Testarossa of the Tuatha de Danaan speaking.

テッサ
「そちらの状況はこちらでも把握しています。
これより当部隊の[SRT]の3機で
ビッグファルコンの防衛に当たります」
Tessa: We’re already aware of the situation. Three of our forces [SRT] units will begin defending the Big Falcon.

左近寺博士
「了解しました。
[ミスリル]の協力に感謝します」
Dr. Sakonji: Understood. We appreciate [Mithril’s] cooperation.

左近寺博士
「ボルテスチーム、あの3機はミスリルの救援だ!
協力して、引き続きテロリストを迎撃せよ!」
Dr. Sakonji: Voltes Team, those three units are Mithril’s rescue team! Work with them and continue to fight back the terrorists!

めぐみ
「ミスリルの…」
Megumi: Mithril’s...?

健一
「そうか、彼らが…」
Kenichi: I see, so they’re...

マオ
「さてと、この後の用事を済ませないといけないから、
サクッとテロリストどもをぶっ倒すわよ!」
Mao: We’ve got some business to take care of after this, so let’s take down these terrorists quick and get this over with!

宗介
「了解!」
Sousuke: Roger!

クルツ
「サベージ如き、俺達の敵じゃないぜ」
Kurz: A couple’a Savages ain’t no match for us!

(Battle 2 begins.)

「よっしゃ、いっちょあがりっと」
Kurz: And that takes care of that.

宗介
「ビッグファルコンやボルテスは無事なようだな」
Sousuke: The Big Falcon and Voltes both appear to be unharmed.

マオ
「そのようね。
もっとも、ボルテスの方は初めから
心配無用だったでしょうけど」
Mao: Looks like it. Not that Voltes would have had any trouble with these guys to begin with.

日吉
「ふう、ちょっとヒヤッとした場面もあったけど…」
Hiroshi: Phew, we had a close call there for a minute, but luckily...

健一
「ああ、今回は彼らに助けられたな」
Kenichi: Yeah, we had them to bail us out of it.

左近寺博士
「改めて協力に感謝します、テスタロッサ大佐」
Dr. Sakonji: Allow me to thank you once again for your cooperation, Captain Testarossa.

浜口博士
「そちらの救援のおかげで、
ビッグファルコンは大事に至らずに済みました」
Dr. Hamaguchi: It is thanks to your aid that the Big Falcon did not suffer any serious damages.

テッサ
「礼には及びません。
こちらもそちらに向かっている最中でしたから」
Tessa: There’s no need to thank us. We were already on our way here anyways.

テッサ
「それより、予定していた件はどうされますか?」
Tessa: Now, do you still plan to go through with what we previously discussed?

左近寺博士
「こちらに大きな被害は出ていないことですし、
せっかくの機会をフイにはしたくありません。
そちらが良ければ、予定通りにお願いしたい」
Dr. Sakonji: We’ve suffered no major damages and I would hate to waste this opportunity we went through so much effort to set up. If you don’t mind, I would like to continue as planned.

テッサ
「わかりました。
今からそちらに向かいます」
Tessa: Very well. Then we’ll head your way now.

こうして直接お会いするのは初めてですね」
Tessa: Dr. Hamaguchi, Dr. Sakonji, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Tessa: I would like to introduce one of our other members. This is Lieutenant Commander Andrey Sergeivich Kalinin.

「西太平洋戦隊の陸戦部隊指揮官を
務めてもらっています」
Tessa: He is tasked as the commanding officer for the Western Pacific Ocean Squadron’s ground warfare teams.

「初めまして。

Kalinin: A pleasure. I am Lieutenant Commander Andrey Sergeivich Kalinin.

テッサ
「こちらの3名がSRTのメリッサ・マオ曹長、
クルツ・ウェーバー軍曹、
そしてサガラ・ソースケ軍曹です」
Tessa: And these three are our SRT members. Master Sergeant Melissa Mao, Sergeant Kurz Weber, and Sergeant Sousuke Sagara.

「では、さっきのASに乗っていたのは…」
Kenichi: Then, you guys were the ones in the ASes before...

マオ
「ええ、あたし達よ。

Mao: Yep, that’s us. Nice to meet you.

Kurz: (So this is the Voltes Team... I’d heard the team was made up of young boys and girls, but aren’t they even younger than Sousuke and Tessa?)

「…けど、ミスリルの戦隊長さんが
わざわざここまで来るなんて…」
Hiroshi: ...Still, it’s kind of shocking to see a Mithril squadron leader come all the way here in person...

テッサ
「ふふ、ビッグファルコンやボルテスVの技術には
以前から興味があったので直接見てみたかったんです。
お邪魔してすみません」
Tessa: Hehe, well, I have always wanted to see the Big Falcon and Voltes V’s technology first hand. Please forgive the intrusion.

日吉
「い、いえ、そんなことは…」
Hiroshi: N-No, that’s not what I...

浜口博士
「テスタロッサ大佐は、指揮官としてだけではなく、
技術者としても優秀な方で、我々も今後の研究に関して
彼女の知恵を少しお借りしている」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Captain Testarossa is not only an excellent commanding officer, but also a skilled engineer. We’ll be relying on her wisdom for a time during our upcoming study.

携われた浜口博士や、宇宙工学の権威である
左近寺博士程ではありません」
Tessa: I’m afraid I pale in comparison to Dr. Hamaguchi, a man who helped design the Big Falcon and Voltes V, and to Dr. Sakonji, who has made great strides in space engineering.

「それに、知恵を貸しているというより、
少し相談事に乗らせてもらっているだけですから」
Tessa: Besides, it’s more like I’m just giving a bit of advice rather than offering any great wisdom.

Megumi: Advice?

「それについては、おいおい説明する。
さて、大佐達も到着されたことだし、
今日の本題に移りたいと思う」
Dr. Sakonji: That will be explained in due time. Now that the Captain and her cohorts have arrived, it’s about time we moved on to the real matter at hand for today.

Tessa: Yes, the matter concerning Voltes’s reserve pilots...
