  1. Natsumi Kuzuryu was hiding in the bushes. It wasn't typical behavior for the self-proclaimed Ultimate Little Sister, but today she was on an extremely important mission. She peeked out through the shrubbery. Still not here...
  2.
  3. "Forgive me, young master. But why have you brought me to this place?" Peko inquired.
  4.
  5. "Shh! You'll blow our cover!" Natsumi hissed.
  6.
  7. "My apologies," Peko responded, in a hushed whisper. "So this is a stakeout?"
  8.
  9. Natsumi merely nodded in response. Peko thought that it would help if she knew who the target or goal of this stakeout was, but decided not to meddle further.
  10.
  11. "There! They're here!" Natsumi pointed through the bushes.
  12.
  13. Peko took a furtive glance through the leaves. She spotted a boy she didn't know, probably from the Reserve Course, and-
  14.
  15. "Who is THAT. That girl who is always spending time with Hajime?" Natsumi said through gritted teeth.
  16.
  17. "I do not know this Hajime, but the girl is my classmate. She is the Ultimate Gamer."
  18.
  19. "I want you to kill her."
  20.
  21. "Very well."
  22.
  23. "With kindness."
  24.
  25. "...young master?"
  26.
  27. Natsumi smiled smugly. "This is definitely an opportunity I can exploit. From her, we can find out exactly what Hajime likes and wants. From there I can definitely..." she trailed off. "Well, that's not important right now."
  28.
  29. Peko thought Natsumi's rosy cheeks were just a shade redder than usual, but dismissed it. "Young master, how would you prefer I extract the information? I did not bring my specialized torture kit, but I assure you my blade ca-"
  30.
  31. "No," Natsumi interrupted. "That's not necessary. Just... give her a gift or something. She seems pretty airheaded. I'm sure she'll talk about Hajime if she's distracted by a new game."
  32.
  33. Peko nodded. "I shall procure the game immediately and report back with my findings tomorrow."
  34.
  35. ~~next day~~
  36.
  37. Natsumi was sitting on a bench, waiting for Peko to arrive. Though she was trying to keep up her outward mean appearance, she was actually bubbling with excitement. In the criminal world, information was king. Information got you the primo real estate, the superior drug routes, the quality product, and the trusted henchmen. And information was how she would win Hajime's affection.
  38.
  39. Peko came and sat down next to Natsumi. Trying to hide her interest, she said "W-well? How did it go? Were you able to befriend the Ultimate Gamer?"
  40.
  41. Peko was quiet for a few moments. "I - forgive me, young master. I have made a critical error."
  42.
  43. Natsumi's felt a pit in her stomach gnawing at her. "What happened? Did you give her the game like I told you?" Peko nodded. "Well? What happened?"
  44.
  45. Peko gulped. "At first, she looked really pleased. She kept saying how nice it was to get a gift she could actually appreciate for once, But when she took it out of the bag, she looked at it for a few moments before returning it and saying she couldn't accept it."
  46.
  47. Natsumi furrowed her eyebrows. "Shit. Just because she's the Ultimate Gamer, I didn't consider there might be games she didn't like. What did you give her?"
  48.
  49. "She seemed to have a fondness for classic games. I thought she of all people could appreciate the simple genius of Tetris."
