- Genie Juju by JollyJolly0, Goodly, and Wasabi Avenger
- Goal of the game:
- Play two jokers from your hand. Or play four of the same number from your hand.
- Getting started:
- Shuffle the deck and place it face down. Each player takes 4 cards. You do not show other players your cards.
- Each player rolls a D6 to determine who goes first. The turns flow moving clockwise.
- If the deck runs out of cards, the discard pile is shuffled and becomes the deck.
- On your turn:
- You may draw 1 card
- You may play any amount or type of cards from your hand into the discard pile, which is face up and placed beside the deck.
- You may end your turn whenever you wish.
- You may play a face card to create a new rule for the game. When you play a face card in this manner, you place it in front of you instead of the discard pile.
- If there is already a face card of the same suit in play, that face card is placed in the discard pile and the rule it created no longer applies.
- This means there can only be 4 different rules in play at once.
- When you create a rule your turn ends immediately.
- Rules can do almost anything, INCLUDING changing the rules stated above.
- However, there are exceptions. Rules CANNOT do the following:
- • create a situation where the game is permanently unwinnable.
- • change turn order
- • change the fact that making a new rule ends your turn
- • allow someone to win outside of their own turn
- • target specific players e.g "if i play a 3 i win". However, a rule that WOULD be allowed is "any player who plays a 3 wins"
- • invoke things outside of the game e.g "players with curly hair win on their turn"
- • pertain to a unique card e.g "10 of hearts". However, rules may pertain to classes of cards such as "hearts" or "10" or "jokers" or "face cards"
- Here are some wacky examples of rules that are allowed to get the creative juices flowing.
- Rules absolutely MAY do the following:
- • allow other cards or combinations of cards to count as rule cards
- • delete rules
- • add, remove or alter a wincondition
- • allow stealing of cards from other players
- • add effects based on what type of card you play into the discard pile
- • invoke effects upon card loss, upon searching the deck for cards, or on shuffling the deck
- • make everyone play with their hands face up
- • draw from discard pile
- • draw a lot of cards
- • make everyone discard their hands
- • make anyone who has over 10 cards discard their hand
- • use the dice in any way
- and so on!
