Album: People Who Can Eat People Are The Luckiest People in the World: I absolutely love this album’s sound and the lyrics are also top-notch. If the Monitor didn’t exist, this would be my favorite album here easily.

Rejoice: 9.5 How is this only the third best opener in this rate?

Brave as a Noun: 9.5 My only gripe with this perfect little song is that there isn’t more of it

Album: The Monitor: This is one of my favorite albums of all time and the perfect exhibition of what punk can be

A More Perfect Union: 10 I’ll never forget the first time I heard this song. A More Perfect Union is one of the greatest openers of all time and not being able to give this song the 11 it deserves hurts my heart

Titus Andronicus Forever: 8.5 Just so much freaking fun

No Future Part III Escape From No Future: 10 I can’t think of anything creative to say, so I’ll just say that this song is incredible and so is this album

Richard II: 9.5 I had to restrain myself from giving every song on this album a 10, so here’s a 9.5 for variety

A Pot in Which to Piss: 9 My least favorite of the full-length songs on here is still a pretty incredible song in its own right

Four Score & Seven: 10 The atmosphere created on this album is unparalleled and I think this song represents it best

Theme from Cheers: 10 A little break from the 8-minute punk epics, but not a break from the songwriting quality. Theme from “Cheers” is one of the best songs on the whole album

To Old Friends & New: 10 This song is just massive in the best way possible

...And Ever: 8.5

The Battle of Hampton Roads: 11 Stickles spews his best lyrics over fourteen minutes of punk genius. There’s a bagpipe solo. What else can you ask for? Arguably the greatest punk song ever written

Album: WORRY: Some really good highlights on here and most of this is solid, but I find the second half loses steam with all of the shorter tracks

We Begged 2 Explode: 10 If The Monitor didn’t exist, this would be an easy 11. Just a magical song

Pash Rash: 7.5 A little short, but a pretty enjoyable track

Festival Song: 9 One of my favorites here, just an incredibly fun and catchy track

Starting Out the Window At Your Old Apartment: 7 Charming enough, but nothing really hits too hard here

Wave Goodnight to Me: 8.5 Considering how good all of the full-length tracks are on this album makes me wish there were fewer short tracks and more of these

To Be a Ghost: 7.5 Second half is pretty great, but the first half is a little underwhelming

I Did Something Weird Last Night: 8.5 Another full-length song that really delivers on the energy

Perfect Sound Whatever: 6.5 By the time this song usually rolls around the back half has lost enough steam that I am pretty disappointed with the final track

Album: Dig Me Out: This was a very solid album front-to-back, really sticks to its guns and knows what it’s good at. The first four songs are great, but then it sags in the middle as the songs start to sound very similar. It picks back up with Not What You Want though. eight out of ten though.

Album: People Who Can Eat People Are The Luckiest People in the World: I actually don’t mind the fast folk-style instrumentals, I think it works really well on songs like People II: The Reckoning. It gets way too polka for me on most of these songs though. The lyrics are pretty good too for the most part. Really I just can’t stand how whiny his voice is 3.5/10

Rejoice: 4 This sounds like They Might Be Giants trying to make a Mumford and Sons song

Brave as a Noun: 3.2 The singer should have waited until he went through puberty

Survival: 3 He really sounds like he’s trying to fit all the lyrics written for a Titus Andronicus song into a 2 minute long song so he’s gotta talk like real fast

No More Tears: 2 Oh wow this was another song and not just part of the last song?

Bells & Whistles: 2.7 I think the baby would have a very well-founded fear of decapitation if nothing else

Randy's House: 0 Okay this album is officially the least relaxing thing I’ve ever heard. Which is not necessarily bad but it’s also annoying as hell

A Song Dedicated to the Memory of Stormy the Rabbit: 3.5 I think the trumpet player is dying someone should check on them

People II The Reckoning: 6 Not a fan of Mrs. Robinson I guess

Personal Space Invader: 4.5 At least they know it sounds like shit

People: 5 I like that they really threw the rhyme scheme out the window on this song


Album: The Monitor: So this is exactly the type of songwriting I love. Longer, sprawling songs that still have a lot of movement and progression. I also love the concept of an album about the Civil War. My only knocks on the album are that the singing is too grating
and he says piss WAY too much. 9/10
