  2. [17:51] Deimos says, "Lio."
  3. [17:52] Lio Sartre says, "Huh? Hello."
  4. [17:52] Deimos says, "Meet your second teacher."
  5. [17:54] Lio Sartre asks, "Second... Teacher?"
  6. [17:54] "Lemuria, this is lio- lio this is Lemuria." Turning to her - he raised a hand in a gesture as to go introduce your self- and with the other he beckoned lio with his fingers as to come to closer.
  7.
  8. "You two will be working together to help advance in magic- sort of speak..."
  9. (Deimos)
  10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  11.
  12. [17:54] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  13. [17:55] Lemuria politely bowed to Lio, but not much else.
  14.
  15. "Greetings."
  16. (Lemuria Augustus)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [17:57] Pushing off the building, both his hands fall to rest on his waist. Blue hues focused on Lemuria for a few moments, before shifting back onto Deimos.
  20.
  21. "Hmm... Nice to meet you, Lemuria." There was no harm in this, right? He brings an arm under his stomach, bowing for a few moments before rising up again. "Working together to help advance in magic? That sounds like a good bargain."
  22. (Lio Sartre)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [18:01] Lemuria Augustus says, "It does."
  26. [18:01] Lemuria Augustus says, "I am looking forward to it."
  27. [18:01] Lemuria said that in near complete deadpan, leaving it a wonder as to how serious she was being.
  28.
  29. Not that she didn't like the idea, just that the whole concept of 'working with others' was a little hard for her to get excited about once confronted with it being a reality.
  30. (Lemuria Augustus)
  31. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. [18:04] Lemuria Augustus says, "So."
  34. [18:04] Lemuria Augustus asks, "When do we begin?"
  35. [18:04] Lio Sartre asks, "Whenever you would like?"
  36. [18:04] Deimos says, "Well- theres a thing.."
  37. [18:05] Lio Sartre asks, "A thing?"
  38. [18:07] Deimos says, "Yes.... You see.. lio- there is now sort of a quote on quote travel band to certain places- and I cannot continue teaching you unless.."
  39. [18:07] Deimos says, "- you decide with us.."
  40. [18:08] Deimos says, "and Reside as well.."
  41. [18:08] Lemuria Augustus whispers: Certainly.
  42. [18:09] Lio Sartre asks, "So you want me to stop going to the city?"
  43. [18:09] Lemuria Augustus says, "We must have some semblance of faith that you won't use our teachings against us."
  44. [18:10] Lio Sartre asks, "Why would I use your teachings against you?"
  45. [18:11] Lemuria Augustus says, "Because there's nothing posessing you to do otherwise aside from your word, at this point in time."
  46. [18:12] Lio Sartre says, "What else could I even do? Other than give you my word."
  47. [18:13] Lemuria Augustus whispers: This is where you come in.
  48. [18:14] Deimos says, "Well.."
  49. [18:15] Deimos says, "Theres a few things lio... We have certain traditions here, and like any place are fair share of secrets- when I call upon you next.. I will be introducing you to someone- and that someone will ask you a few things.. you are young - but I am trying to bring you into a family of sorts.."
  50. [18:15] Deimos says, "So we can continue now with illusion lessons..."
  51. [18:16] Deimos asks, "Where did we leave off last time do you recall?"
  52. [18:17] Lio Sartre says, "I was stabbing you in the chest."
  53. [18:19] Deimos says, "Ah.. right the illusion- subsitute.."
  54. [18:19] Deimos asks, "Do you know how to clone Lemuria?"
  55. [18:19] Lemuria Augustus says, "I know how to do all of it."
  56. [18:19] Deimos says, "Do you mind making a illusionary version of your self..- explaining the basics of it a little- I will tab in and out for explaination as well."
  57. [18:19] Deimos says, "Think of it..."
  58. [18:19] Deimos whispers: as an act..
  59. [18:19] Deimos nudges her side.
  60. (Deimos)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [18:20] Lemuria Augustus exclaims, "...!"
  64. [18:29] hit tree
  65. (Agrippa)
  66. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  67.
  68. [18:30] ...Well.
  69.
  70. When he phrased it like that, she couldn't resist! With a wave of her hand, she created an exact clone of herself- absolutely perfect down to the letter.
  71.
  72. "Illusion magic is when you alter the reality of all those who dare gaze upon you! Those who fight you are the most unfortunate of all, as you turn their very senses against them! This technique is a PERFECT example of that!"
  73.
  74. With that, the clone reached towards Lio's shoulder, and he'd be able to feel the physical sensation of a hand on his arm. It was not a real hand, however.
  75.
  76. "For you see, with this, you create an illusory clone of yourself that anyone can see! Whether or not it's even real is only for the caster to decide. But when it fights people- when you fight people- it manifests their very fears of you into their reality, harming them and obstructing their path!"
  77.
  78. As time went on, Lemuria grew more dramatic. Her voice started to boom, thescenery was devoured, and the giant cow was milked far, FAR more than was actually necessary.
  79.
  80. "That is the power of illusions! You control the fears of your opponent and weaponize them! Anyone foolish enough to fight you will be stricken with a terror the likes of which they have never experienced! KYAHAHAHAHAHA!"
  81.
  82. This was a case of Demios needing to be careful of what he wished for. She was playing it up so much that her explanations grew more abstract, harder to understand, and far, far too dramatic to be fully accurate, although Lio could gleam all he needed form this if he thought hard enough.
  83.
  84. But regardless of whether or not he actually understood her, by god, she was acting her heart out.
  85.
  86. "Any questions?! Ask now! Ask him! Ask yourself! It doesn't matter who you ask; this magic is yours for the taking!!!!!!!"
  87. (Lemuria Augustus)
  88. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  89.
  90. [18:41] Things started out well.
  91.
  92. The clone made as a perfect imitation of herself, even when it moves over and touches his arm... It feels real? How did it take over his senses? Magic so strong that you believed it, but in his mind, he knew it wasn't real. But that simply wasn't enough, as if he could feel it then it could hurt him.
  93.
  94. "So I can twist things in my favor before anyone's eyes? Once their gaze falls upon me, I can take control of each of their senses. Sight, touch, hearing, and even taste?"
  95.
  96. Even the scenery was altered in her favor, being twisted and devoured. Something he wasn't used to seeing, but it was impressive! Something he wanted to pick up, but could he?
  97.
  98. "For me to decide what's real and what isn't real... And when I fight someone, their very fears of myself become a reality. That's a pretty intense use of magic, which would be extremely useful."
  99.
  100. …But Lemuria seems to go off the tracks a little, getting extremely carried away with her explanation of it all. This wasn't exactly a bad thing, he just awkwardly smiles while rubbing the back of his neck.
  101.
  102. "Haha... Mine for the taking, I guess you could say that. But that's the basics and what illusion magic is capable of. What would you say you do to cast it? Is it a trick of the mind?"
  103.
  104. Blue hues gaze down at his hands, huffing. "Imagine tricking yourself so much, that you yourself believe what you are doing is real. To distort the reality around yourself like nothing, you would think something like that takes a lot of concentration." A click of his fingers, before drawing his blade.
  105.
  106. The old rusted knife is pressed up against the clone's neck, but nothing else is done yet. "What else could you do? And where would I begin?"
  107. (Lio Sartre)
  108. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  109.
  110. [18:49] Lemuria dialed it down a bit upon realizing she had to give an actual explanation on how to do illusion magic.
  111.
  112. So, she thought for a moment, eventually coming upon the simplest explanation she could offer.
  113.
  114. "There are a lot of different ways to perform this kind of magic, but my method is rather simple. Each sense relies on a certain thing. What my illusions most often manipulate is light. In the case of the clone, it's as simple as me reflecting my own light. The reason it damages people is primarily due to their own mind going after them, creating the sensation of pain that wears on their emotional and mental energy, exhausting them.
  115.
  116. Mental and physical exhaustion aren't that much different, in practice. Think about it like that.
  117.
  118. Each of the other spells has their own principle, but that's how my cloning technique works."
  119. (Lemuria Augustus)
  120. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  121.
  122. [18:57] That made a lot of sense, weirdly. He understood what she meant, even if the method in his mind was different. She used the light, reflections that made her clone a reality... And of course, with some magic thrown in, it becomes a real thing. Yet; to work off their own anxiety in battle, that's the true damage that is caused.
  123.
  124. "Interesting concept." The knife is flicked back before moved to slice through the clone's hair. Of course, it technically wasn't cutting through anything at all. Even with the false illusion of hair being sliced, it brought a smile to his face.
  125.
  126. "You attack their insecurities first, even if it's on the mind. For example, sometimes we see things in the corner of our eyes... It makes our heart beat faster, it makes our senses wake up. On alert and confused, left to finally doubt your own brain. That doubt becomes a reality in combat, quick with the use of magic to cast illusions."
  127.
  128. Lifting his knife up, he slowly slices down the air in front of him. "Each movement becomes more hostile, each thought is heavier. And it's far too late to realize that they are hurting themselves, the mind playing tricks on them. An illusion, backing them into a corner like a wild animal." Sheathing his blade again, he smiles.
  129.
  130. "Now I need to put all of this into action, which is going to be difficult. Without any real subject to test things on, I think I should focus on tricking myself... To believe in my own illusions, that's when they will work on other people."
  131.
  132. He pauses though, giving Lemuria a chance to add anything.
  133. (Lio Sartre)
  134. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  135.
  136. [19:15] "That's the difficult part- you don't know they're working. Casting illusions on yourself may be the best option, but manipulating the way light reflects off of things like I did meant I didn't need to do that."
  137.
  138. But the idea of casting an illusion on herself did give her an idea; one she stored away for future use. Not one that'd manifest now, but one that'd manifest when she became much, much more experienced.
  139.
  140. "Magic can happen when the imagination manifests into reality, so I suppose trying to cast an illusion on yourself might work. How do you intend on doing that, however?"
  141. (Lemuria Augustus)
  142. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  143.
  144. [19:22] How did he plan to cast an illusion on himself? A trick of the mind... So all he had to do was convince himself of his own magic, despite knowing how little his experience was currently.
  145.
  146. "I have an idea. I have to convince myself of my own illusions, which means I should probably distort some of my other senses first to amplify others. I think we will begin with sight if I can blindside myself while casting magic... Who knows just how real it's going to be? You should cast illusion magic on me too, to tick my mind."
  147.
  148. He taps the side of his head, crouching down to pick up a bunch of dirt. "If you are casting illusion magic too, then I won't know whose is whose... And who knows? Mine could turn out to be the more real feeling once I work on it more. I will try on my own first, to see..."
  149.
  150. To see just how capable he was!
  151.
  152. So he channels his energy into his arms and legs, tossing down the dirt to cause a small dust storm to pick up. Kicking up the sand to blind himself, which could be extremely stupid.
  153.
  154. But now he had to cast, which was another problem. Vision obscured and unable to read his surroundings, he does his best to cast that illusion. To exert his mind and magic, using the reflection of the light of the dust floating around his form.
  155.
  156. His first attempt was awful, all he could do was create some form of shadow that had no real figure or pattern to it. Easily able to tell it was fake, not strong enough to even boggle someone's mind. Which is when the dust finally falls, that odd shape left out in the open as a sign of his failure. "Huh..." Maybe he wasn't using that imagination of his enough?
  157.
  158. "Maybe you should try it with me? For better results..." With a flick of his wrist, that shadow just fades away.
  159.
  160. This could take awhile...
  161. (Lio Sartre)
  162. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  163.
  164. [19:24] Lemuria Augustus asks, "You mean, try to use illusions -on- you?"
  165. [19:25] Lio Sartre says, "Yeah! Like... When I am trying to trick myself, you should trick me too. Then I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, right? You'll be tricking me, until I eventually trick myself into believing my own illusion has been casted by you."
  166. [19:26] Lio Sartre asks, "To trick my own mind, wouldn't that make my illusion magic that much more potent?"
  167. [19:26] Lemuria Augustus says, "That makes sense."
  168. [19:26] Lio Sartre says, "It does? I hope it does..."
  169. [19:31] Lemuria was well-versed in illusion magic, having been a practitioner for quite some time. So it'd make sense that her illusions would be on another level from Lio's, especially given how he couldn't do much at this point in time. So, in another case of 'be careful what you wish for', Lemuria rose her hand up and clenched her fingers.
  170.
  171. All light as quickly and brutally torn from his eyes, inflicting damage on his very mind like she described earlier. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't that much, but if it was the first time he ever experienced such a thing, it'd be a harrowing, perhaps terrifying experience.
  172.
  173. But hey, at least he'd be able to differentiate between his illusions and her own.
  174. (Lemuria Augustus)
  175. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. [19:34] The young dancer slips out of a nearby building, what appeared to be a small tavern operated by Ishizu. She smiles, making he way beside a tree and taking notice of both Lio and Lemuria who she had not seen in quite some time.
  178.
  179. As the two seemed to be practicing their work on illusions she chose to sit by the nearby tree and watch using the extension to her natural sight allowing her to gauge what exactly it was the two were trying to do.
  180. (Ororo Boros)
  181. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  182.
  183. [19:40] "Alright, let's beg--…"
  184.
  185. Before he could even give a signal for them to start, Lemuria already had an idea in mind. He expected another clone, maybe one of himself? But she takes it a step further, distorting things around him and pulling darkness over his eyes.
  186.
  187. Darkness, not something he had experienced before. While the tugging on his senses was horrible, causing sweat to bead down from his head. But instead of freaking out, he knew exactly what he had gotten himself into.
  188.
  189. This wasn't the time to freak out or submit, even if he felt like his eyes had been taken from him. He had to fight back, right? To use his own magic, to try and cast his own illusion on himself. Teeth grit, while fists clenched... Maybe he should be more relaxed?
  190.
  191. But it was difficult in this state, which his attempts begin to show. That darkness vibrates, shaking due to his own ability to fight back. But it's clearly not enough, his illusion magic not polished or strong enough to keep up. Painful... His head was throbbing at this point, but giving up wouldn't be a choice.
  192.
  193. "C- Change it... Keep... Changing it..." If she could trick his mind to see different things constantly, who knows when his own image would appear? Who knows when his own illusion would take shape. Even if it's a piece planted inside of Lemuria's own, that would be a big step towards developing it.
  194.
  195. Right now, all he did was fail miserably.
  196. (Lio Sartre)
  197. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  198.
  199. [19:48] Lemuria smirked as she saw his reaction to his light being stolen, but she decided to grant his wish and change the illusion-
  200.
  201. Unfortunately, in YET ANOTHER case of 'be careful what you wish for', Lemuria did something much, much worse. His light returned to him, sure, but every other sense of his was taken by her. Up appeared down, forwards appeared like backwards, everything would be heard in reverse, forwards, and somehow, sideways. The boy experienced things the human mind was simply not prepared to, things that it couldn't produce on its own, and things that would shatter the mind of any non magi.
  202.
  203. Illusions defied expectations; they turned the mind against itself. So rather than simply offering mild visual changes, Lemuria, quite literally, scrambled his mind.
  204.
  205. "Tell me when to stoooooooooop~"
  206.
  207. ...and to say she didn't enjoy every moment of it would be a lie. She very much did. She didn'tget to do things like this quite often.
  208.
  209. Hopefully he had the mental fortitude to mount a resistance, and perhaps interject his own illusion like he intended; Lemuria almost seemed to have forgotten that this was about teaching.
  210. (Lemuria Augustus)
  211. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  212.
  213. [20:26]
  214. {LOAD GAME}
  215.
  216. [20:29] Now, everything was changing again.
  217.
  218. This time, it was much different. His light was given back to him, the darkness pulled away from his eyes. Yet; everything else was distorted and messed up. The illusions of the world being upside down, when looking down at his feet it as like he had to hold on or he may fall into the sky.
  219.
  220. It was painful, even the sound of her talking backward made him feel sick. Nobody was meant to deal with these things, easily able to hurt someone's brain or give them motion sickness.
  221.
  222. But he does his best to work with it, clenching his fists and holding his ground. Knees bent slightly due to his position, trying not to focus on it too hard.
  223.
  224. Now it was his turn to cast the illusion magic, even if it's a speck of something in the grand scheme of things. Everything was backward, which is when that magic is focused to reverse that. Those words she says playback, but this time they weren't in reverse at all. Perfectlyheard, causing him to be able to give that glorious command and free himself.
  225.
  226. "Stop."
  227.
  228. It was small, but it was a huge step towards developing this magic. He doesn't exactly even notice that he did it, rather just wanting her to stop before he actually threw up on the floor.
  229. (Repost)
  230. (Lio Sartre)
  231. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  232.
  233. [20:32] Lemuria frowned at having to end her illusions. She was having so much fun! But... oh well, what can you do? At least it meant that he made progress; that was something to be proud of. With a wave of her hand, she dispelled her illusion, reality as a whole returning to normal for him.
  234.
  235. "So? What happened? I'm curious!"
  236. (Lemuria Augustus)
  237. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  238.
  239. [20:38] Now he was back on solid ground, it felt good... No, wait... It didn't feel good at all, in fact-...
  240.
  241. He throws up, hands on his stomach. "Ugh... I- I think I did something, I heard you clearly-- I am not too sure. But that was also hard to handle, really upset my stomach!"
  242.
  243. Tiny progress, but better than nothing. The real first steps towards developing illusion magic. Which he wipes his mouth, brushing himself down a little bit. "Huh... I guess that's a little bit. Should we continue or call it for today? I am all for trying to push it further."
  244. (Lio Sartre)
