  3. ----------
  4. I've always been curious, do you guys like Mike as a character, or because he's a self-insert?
  5. ---
  6. Mike isn't anything like me. So it's hard for me to see him as a self insert... But I'm not really sure how self inserts work.
  7.
  8. I like him because dude has faults but he still trys to help others.
  9. ---
  10. I like mike as a character, he's very much ride or die. He has a problem sticking his nose in other peoples business and trying to fix things, but he is very caring and considerate in his own ways
  11.
  12. I ship him with everyone. He is the community husband
  13. -
  14. kind of sums up how i feel about his shipping. even if it's not romantic. I want him to be around the cast as Family. Give me Fast and the furriest: Mike or die.
  15. ---
  16. character, I'm not rtrded enough to go on two tangents that get me kicked out.
  17. Not that I hate him, quite the opposite. But he's just not a self-insert, at least to me.
  18. ---
  19. character
  20. going in the middle of strangers and actually giving your all while wearing your heart on your sleeve is something i never managed to do, so i cant really say i would self insert as him
  21. especially on some scenes where he really does f-k up and later on tries make things right
  22. ---
  23. Honestly I like him because of him being a center of the characters
  24. I don't self insert when makeing art or greens more it's the story connection
  25. A stranger in a stranger land surrounded by broken people
  26. He's the powder keg that improved everyone's life's
  27. ---
  28. Character, I like how prickly he is and how he tries so damn hard not to be a burden, even to his own detriment later on. It's abit of a shame that the story jumped right to Mike being out of the hospital and all healed up for the epilogue, because I think theres some good material in Mike recovering and having to swallow his pride and get help with basic day to day things
  29.
  30. Also because you know Foxglove would try and sponge bath him with his injuries as an excuse
  31. -
  32. Honestly, What i would give for another arc on dealing with his trouble. he tried so hard to help his family i think recovery could of dealt with his family helping him.
  33. -
  34. Mike trying to hide when he's having a hard day but everyone already knowing his tells for when his injuries are flaring up anyway would be cash money.
  35. -
  36. He is going to become House if he keeps popping pills.
  37.
  38. To be fair, jumping universe through the warp tends to screw with memories. For all we know this could be purgatory for that f-ker.
  39. ---
  40. More character
  41. He's a honestly very nice person who trys to help strangers even if they caused him trouble
  42. Really the guy you want as a friend especially in need
  43. ---
  44. >because he's a self-insert?
  45. It's so weird when people assert this. He has his own personality and interests. You're too hung up on the second person narration.
  46. -----
  47. I never actually play the games but does Mike and Michael Afton line up well? Like the both seem like they are willing to die to help others.
  48. -
  49. I would say no.
  50. though imagine the drama of Mike finally recalling his past/alternate life and, to his horror, remembering how he killed his younger brother
  51. -
  52. Anon... I've been thinking of this since I finished roommates.
  53.
  54. Srly, never played the games or actually looked into them. Just know the old weaver comics and roommates. Don't know how all 3 differ.
