  1. 'Intensive Medical Care: There are also horrid wounds that cause Critical Effects that require Intensive Medical Care. This requires
  2. proper facilities such as a hospital along with advanced equipment as well as usual medical equipment. Intensive Medical Care is
  3. always given as Hard(-20) Extended Care Test that is modified by the quality of facilities and equipment. Also healing Critically
  4. Wounded characters requires Medical Care.
  5. Extended Care: Extended Care can be either given to speed the healing process or to give long term medical care for injuries or for
  6. installing bionics. You can attend a number of patients equal to your Intelligence Bonus. Each patient above this number imposes a
  7. cumulative –10 penalty to your Medicae Tests to provide extended care.
  8. When giving Medical Care, Test once after each three days for other patients and once a day for Lightly Wounded characters. On the
  9. other hand, when giving Intensive Medical Care, Test once at the end of each week.
  10.  ON A SUCCESS, the patient is healed as per Medicae Healing Rate removing Critical Damage (eg. charateristic damage) first
  11. and then normal Damage, plus 1 Damage for each Degree of Success unless the patient is affected by some long term
  12. Critical Effects that require Medical Care or Intensive Medical Care to end them, in which case a successful Test marks two
  13. of them for ending and one additional for each Degree of Success, although the character still may need some time to heal
  14. before Critical Effects are removed (this is mentioned in the description for the long term Critical Effect). On a successful
  15. Test the patient also removes Damage at rested natural healing rate.
  16.  ON A FAILURE, your patients are not adversely affected, removing Damage at the normal rested natural healing rates. A
  17. failure by three or more degrees indicates that 1d5 patients receive infection that will kill the character within 1d10 days
  18. unless treated with counterceptics to give them a fighting chance. Characteristic Damage is healed at the same rate as
  19. Critical Damage.
