  1. It seems that there have been quite a few (if not hundreds ) threads have come about rules, infractions, FAQ and other stuff have surfaced. I'm going to take it upon myself to break this all apart so we can get a good idea of where we lack, as the inmates seem to be starting to take over the prison. This needs to stop, as it's caused a ton of frustration lately between members, and moderators alike. So, here we go...

  4. First off, I'd like to pull this up and out of the FAQ

  7. As much as I hate to do it, it seems that it is necessary to have the rules and regulations of zoklet available to moderators and users. The reason I hate to do this is because one should not have to tell people what the rules are, what pisses people off, and what is looked down upon.

  10. I think this needs to be stricken from the FAQ as a whole. This emparts and elitest attitude towards anyone who reads this FAQ. Not everyone is going to understand or even be able to guess what rules and regulations are in place throughout the site. Yes, we hold a "high" standard because of the Totse userbase, but c'mon... We don't need to sound like douchebags while we try to help people understand what is wrong and what is acceptable (not "right")

  12. I'd also like to bring up other things in that same paragraph.

  14. [quote]When people know where the line is, they tend to push the limit more than they would otherwise. A good analogy would be a blindfolded man at the edge of a cliff. Tell him he is on the cliff and that he should approach the ledge and he will do so more cautiously and he will probably stop well before he's in any real danger. Take his blindfold off and he will be much more inclined to go toward the edge, and push closer and closer to danger because he thinks he knows where to stop. In short, when people know what the rules are, they push them and find ways around them

  17. The blind man without the blindfold may be more inlcined to push his own limits, but the cliff isn't going to go anywhere. If the blind man is to lean farther than his balance is stable, he will fall given to correct circumstance. Who's fault is that? It's his and not the cliff. This is because he knew exactly where the edge of the cliff was. He pushed his own limits and payed the price. There is no one at fault but themselves. The current attitude is huge shortcoming here with the staff. Therefore, we should draw direct and clear lines of rules and enforce these as such. No more whishy washy bullshit like we've all seen before in infraction forum.
