  1. [10:33] <Ikiryo> It's late that evening, after a lot of testing...which mostly seemed to involve poking and prodding and asking if they could rebreak parts of her..when Altea is awakened by a cracking sound...
  2. 06[10:34] * Altea rubs her eyes, what could that sound be?
  3. 06[10:34] * Altea realizes that she hasn't been able to rub her eyes since the stupid casts got put on
  4. [10:34] <Ikiryo> ...yep, she's broken the casts. That's a problem...
  5. 06[10:35] * Altea sits up rapidly. This is really bad. Even WITH the doctors admitting there's nothing wrong with her besides how amazing she is, they hadn't told the LT that. And if the LT came and saw her broken casts, she'd be put on gym restriction!
  6. 06[10:36] * Altea starts rummaging through the side tables to see if there's any tape
  7. [10:36] <Ikiryo> It's dark, with the medical wing basicly abandoned...and no tape, when she goes looking for it...
  8. 06[10:38] * Altea lets out a low whine. She's gonna have to get TACTICAL, and figure out a way into the medical supply office. If she can do that...she might be able to find a completely new cast or two. Tape at the very least.
  9. [10:39] <Ikiryo> Fortunetly, the medical supply office isn't that far...just down the corridor...
  10. 06[10:40] * Altea starts doing her best to sneak down the corridor. How hard can it be?
  11. 06[10:45] * Altea also starts unconsciously humming a sneaking theme song as she moves.
  12. [10:47] <Ikiryo> She makes it to the door...and an hand touches her shoulder.
  13. 06[10:47] * Altea freezes
  14. [10:48] <Ikiryo> "Good evening, my dear..." The voice is warm and friendly, Altea recognises it. Aynfean...
  15. 01[10:48] <Altea> "Oh...hey Ms. Aynfean..."
  16. [10:50] <Ikiryo> She's dressed in a professional looking suit, her long red hair tied back. One eyebrow is raised. "And whatever are you doing, Altea?"
  17. 01[10:51] <Altea> "Uh, I need to get something from medical supply. Ms. Loviatar said I need it for the tests she's running."
  18. [10:55] <Ikiryo> She just keeps the eyebrow raised, looking at Altea.
  19. 01[10:57] <Altea> "You know, the tests about how I'm able to be super strong and tough and recover from injuries because I have giant blood and so the TSAB is trying to learn more about that I guess."
  20. 01[10:58] <Altea> "Anyway I also need these casts because Lt. Strommens has said if i disobey any orders from medical staff she'll cut my gym privileges and that's the LAST thing I want to happen so I need to get into the medbay." She's rambling now
  21. [10:58] <Ikiryo> "...I see." The smile widens. "Well, I might be able to help you. How did you plan to bypass the lock on the door?"
  22. 01[10:58] <Altea> "Uh.....they keep the door locked?"
  23. [10:59] <Ikiryo> "They do. They keep a lot of chemicals in there that could be used for dangerous purposes."
  24. 01[10:59] <Altea> "Oh, I guess that makes sense. Uh...I don't know how I was going to get past it."
  25. [11:00] <Ikiryo> She chuckles. "Then would you like a hand getting new casts?"
  26. 01[11:00] <Altea> "Sure!"
  27. [11:03] <Ikiryo> "What ever happened to the last ones?" She pulls up an AR display...and with a few quick taps, the door slides open 'Emergency overide engaged' appearing on it.
  28. 01[11:03] <Altea> "I, uh, broke them while I was sleeping."
  29. [11:05] <Ikiryo> "...oh dear. Does that sort of thing happen much?" She slips inside, looking through all the medical supplies there...
  30. 01[11:06] <Altea> "Well, I've never had to wear a cast more than a day or two before, but yeah."
  31. [11:07] <Ikiryo> She nods "Then how about we get you supplies for that cast, get it on and get a way of preventing you breaking them in your sleep? How does that sound?" Her smile becomes a bit crooked. "Unless you have a plan to apply the casts to both your arms on your own."
  32. 01[11:07] <Altea> "Oh. Yeah I guess I would have had to figure that out too. Ok, sure!"
  33. [11:10] <Ikiryo> She picks up an armful of supplies. "Some for you, some for my own use. I am sick, after all." She heads outside, marching back towards the medbay...
  34. 01[11:10] <Altea> "Makes sense."
  35. 06[11:10] * Altea follows Aynfean
  36. [11:12] <Ikiryo> "So what's this about giant blood?" She makes small talk as they walk...
  37. 01[11:14] <Altea> "Oh, it's a thing from my planet. The giants helped us defend our planet from invaders, but they all died doing that. The last one put some of his blood on the people that fought at his side, and the blood made them super strong and brave and tough and loyal. And so it's been passed down, kinda skipping around generations, and people who have those qualities are ones that have some of that blood."
  38. [11:15] <Ikiryo> "Interesting...and you say it's making you heal faster?"
  39. 01[11:16] <Altea> "Yep! That's another part of it too. I don't stay injured for very long. Typically an hour or two for a broken bone, though it can be longer if it's broken a bunch of times like the other day. That one took me almost until I fell asleep."
  40. [11:17] <Ikiryo> "That is...incredibly fast. I wonder if it helps you build muscle well too. It would explain a lot..." She gestures for Altea to sit down on the bed.
  41. 06[11:18] * Altea sits down. "Probably. I've always been really strong, and so are most others who have it. It's rare, but there are still enough people on my planet that there are a few hundred with it at a given time."
  42. 01[11:18] <Altea> "I wonder what kind of tests she's gonna try to do though. When the TSAB first started testing me I broke some of their portable equipment, so I hope the stuff she has on this ship is tougher than that."
  43. [11:19] <Ikiryo> "...how very interesting. Sounds very handy." She nods, smiling. "Anyway...I think I have a way to prevent you breaking your casts again. Sound good?"
  44. 01[11:19] <Altea> "Sure!"
  45. [11:24] <Ikiryo> She reaches out...and everything goes black for Altea...
  46. [11:25] <Ikiryo> When she wakes up...it's morning...and she can feel the casts on her arms again. Something though, feels just weird...there is a mirror nearby if she wants to look over herself.
  47. 06[11:25] * Altea goes and looks at the mirror.
  48. [11:26] <Ikiryo> ...the girl who looks back at her could be her Sister. She's still tall...but she's slim and delicate looking...like she's never done serious exercise in her life.
  49. 01[11:26] <Altea> "Whoa, weird. I wonder what she did?"
  50. [11:28] <Ikiryo> The casts fit her new, slim arms. She feels like she couldn't break them even if she wanted to...
  51. [11:33] <Ikiryo> The doctor is a bit suprised to see her like that but shrugs it off as an 'Anti-Growth Spurt or Something'. Then spends half an hour complaining that most of her test ideas were knocked down due to annoying 'Ethical Reasons'. She takes the casts off Altea after an hour or so and says she's free to go...
  52. 06[11:33] * Altea waves to the doctor as she leaves. What a nice lady. Anyway, time to go do something else! She's really hungry again, and since she can exercise now...
  53. 03[11:36] * Claire ([email protected]) has joined #TSABIC
  54. 06[11:36] * Altea goes towards the mess hall, but bumps into Ainlinn on the way. "Hey Ainlinn!"
  55. [11:37] <Ikiryo> Ainlinn, who has a cast on one of her arms herself just sort of stares at Altea. "...who are you?"
  56. 01[11:37] <Altea> "Altea! Your squadmate. I look kinda different, huh?"
  57. [11:38] <Ikiryo> "...you are not Altea...she's built like a brick wall...unless..." Her voice lowers and her eyes narrow. "...Aynfean..."
  58. 01[11:38] <Altea> "Good guess! I broke my casts while I was sleeping last night and she did something to help me not break them again!"
  59. [11:39] <Ikiryo> "...right." She sighs...and starts ranting in some unknown tongue. Judging by the sounds though, it's likely swearing.
  60. 01[11:40] <Altea> "Hm? Anyway, if you see her tell her I said thanks for helping me."
  61. 01[11:40] <Altea> "I'm getting lunch now though, wanna come?"
  62. [11:41] <Ikiryo> The ranting continues more, as she starts to wave her arms about in the middle of it...
  63. 06[11:43] * Altea shrugs and keeps going to lunch.
  64. [11:45] <Ikiryo> She stops after a moment longer and follows, looking pissed off. "What made you think that was a smart plan?"
  65. 01[11:45] <Altea> "Made me think what was a smart plan?"
  66. [11:46] <Ikiryo> "Letting her...leech off you like some sort of vampire b..." She pauses "Witch."
  67. 01[11:47] <Altea> "Oh, is that what she did? She just told me she was gonna help me not break my casts again, and then I fell asleep."
  68. 01[11:48] <Altea> "I guess it couldn't have been too bad if I slept through it."
  69. [11:48] <Ikiryo> "...you...she...argleflargleblargle...' She facepalms.
