  1. From StarWolff2000
  2. Proposal to change the Essentials/Defender section
  3.
  4.
  5. I thought the Windows Defender section of /antivirus_whitelisting page needed some revision.
  6. - It seems difficult to follow for some users,
  7. - It has some missing steps; assumes the user is familiar with some things in Windows
  8. - "Firestorm-bin" is confusing, not the actual name of the file
  9. - I wanted to list everything to whitelist, all together
  10.
  11. I went through Windows Defender, step by step, writing down each step to whitelist the cache, settings, and install folders as well as slvoice, slplugin, dullahan_host; and whitelist those 3 files in Windows Defender's firewall - everything, from start-to-finish. It's rather long, but complete
  12.
  13. I would like any Windows user to follow the ENTIRE instructions, line-by-line, without skipping any steps, and trying to view this from the perspective of someone unfamiliar with antivirus and firewall configuration, and unfamiliar with changing more advanced settings in the OS.
  14.
  15. Not limited to, but including looking for typo errors, correct "thing name" to click on, correct button names, correct step order, whether any step is missing or different or not available.
